horrible. that's all I can say right now. I'm tired and going to bed. I'll give a better review tomorrow, but I wish I could have those 2.5 hrs of my life back.

really???? :distress: :distress: :( :(

that makes me sad. i was looking forward to seeing that. I'll prob still go see it, but at least now I won't be expecting much. damn. disappointment would become her middle name and all that ****.

No, no!! It's brilliant!!
Well, I thought it was anyway... Kirsten Dunst is still annoying and I thought they probably tried to do a bit "too much" with the script, trying to cram too much stuff in but it's still a really great movie, some really good laughs.
Go and see it! I certainly wasn't disappointed.

It ****ing sucked. I want my $8.50 back. I left halfway into it. I had the option of watching it the whole way through, or possibly getting drunk. So I took the latter option.

I love Kirsten Dunst though. She's sassy and adorable. Too bad the movie sucked.

Oh it wasn't that bad! It is the weakest of the three and it's a bit slow in parts but it was fine.
I'd probably ask for 30 mins of the 2.5 hours back, no more.

it was awfully boring through most of it. too much emotion, not enough action. the few action sequences were "been there, seen that" type of stunts. they never even named Venom or at least I didn't hear it. the acting was awful, imo. I don't know what was up with it...cause both Kirsten and Tobey are great actors. the lip and chin quivers and all the ****ing tears. good lord...I've never seen so much crying in an action movie. there were so many people laughing at the wrong moments it's not, well, funny. it was almost like watching an SNL spoof.

and I agree, it's like they crammed too much into one movie and never fully explored any of it...just kinda half-assed all of it.

I can't stand Kirsten Dunst - I do not get her appeal at all.
Every Spiderman movie has the same damn plot.

 That is true, we were wetting ourselves laughing at that. Nobody stopped crying for the last ten minutes or something like that, it was horrendously funny....

But Pirates III I'm dreading. The second one was just such a mess....

Wow...talk about overrated cinema.

Spider-Man 3 did indeed SUCK. Waaay too many villains. It's suffered the same fate as many 3rds have of late (XMen 3...sucked...Blade 3...uber sucky...etc)

X-Men 3, yes. Even though I love X-Men and did enjoy the movie quite a lot, they, like Spiderman, tried to do too much and left so many plot threads either hanging or didn't do them justice.
Then again, Hugh Jackman was in it, so it wasn't ALL bad!

See, I totally dug it. I mean, what do you expect? It's a movie about a HUMAN SPIDER FLYING THROUGH THE STREETS OF NEW YORK. That's never bad. It definitely suffered by having the three subpar villains as opposed to one kickass one, but I really don't think it blew like everyone else.

Then again, I liked X3 too. It's not like either of those movies are as bad as Fantastic Four, The Hulk, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Ghost Rider, etc etc etc.

Exactly.

I did not think it was that bad at all. I rather enjoyed it actually

As a movie I thought that it didn't know what it was doing. It seemed confused. I used to be a MASSIVE Spiderman fan so I know most of the villains and when I heard Sandman was in this I was really disappointed because... well... he's a crappy villain. Venom is in the top three of Spiderman villains IMO - joined second with the Green Goblin and beaten to first place by Carnage. He was sadly under-used in this film. My favourite part was the parts where Venom was talking to (and fighting with) Spiderman at the end because a lot of the lines were proper lines from the comics.

All in all, I thought it was an okay movie, but it left me REALLY wanting a whole movie with a) just Venom or b)Venom and Carnage.

That's true, but I found the movie cool, anyway. I really enjoy it. Besides, what do you guys expects? Citizen Kane?? . It's cool, SP-1 and SP-3 I liked very much. SP-2 was fine.

Effects were cool, I liked it. I liked the movie.

just kidding. I guess I was really taken aback by all the effin tears and sob stories and lip quivering mushy moments. one or two? fine. every 10 minutes? not so much.

I agree actually...though I liked the movie - they probably could have gotten rid of his character and still had a good movie...though then why would Spidey have needed Harry...

I did not like the way they "wrapped up" the sandman storyline...lame. Otherwise...I still liked the movie lol.

I've read that Sam Raimi really didn't want to include Venom in the movie, that Marvel kinda forced it on him, as he's a much bigger fan of the 70s era Spiderman stories instead of the more current stuff like Venom.

I actually thought this one was a hell of a lot less weepy than the second one- I felt that 2 was much more emo than it should've been, and I thought this one was less so. Part of me may have just thought it was hilarious that once Peter turned "baaad" that they had him rocking the eyeliner and ridiculous emo haircut, so that he looked like Conor Oberst's evil twin.

Rumor has it that the villain for SP-4 is going to be Carnage.

This is going to sound REALLY nerdy but....
I am a huge Spiderman fan, always have been, played with Spiderman dolls instead of Barbies when I was little. However,
I am boycotting Spiderman 3 because of how they are portraying the Green Goblin. For those of you who don't know, the Green Goblin is one of the, if not most, classic Spiderman villans ever. This new "costume" they have Harry Osborne in in this movie is HORRIBLE!!! He's supposed to be a Goblin for Christ's sake!!!! They don't change Sandman's friggin' t-shirt color from the comics but they do THIS to the classic Green Goblin character?? It totally smacks of the selling of different-looking action figures, which I understand to an extent. But you simply shouldn't mess with a classic. :distress:

My brother saw Spiderman 3 though and he said it was horrible. He said the dialogue sucked and it lacked character depth.

Here's to Spiderman 4!!!!!! In the comics, Norman Osborne (the first Green Goblin) comes back to life later down the line. Maybe there will be a chance for Sam Raimi to redeem himself if they go that storyline. If not, they can make up for it by doing a storyline with "The Lizard" villan, unless of course they decide to sell more figures by changing him into "The Turtle" or something.

omg...how could I have forgotten this?! that was the worst! it was just so...so...weirdish fake. I swear I felt like I was watching an episode of SNL or a spoof of the movie. I kept thinking..."are they serious?"

Not being a fan of the franchise... I thought it was TOO long, TOO many villians, and I am tired of the love story.

Was pretty wasted when I saw it and it didn't help much.

he's a photographer that becomes the "as yet un-named but we know he is supposed to be Venom" -

when he's under the influence of the rage, Peter does some nasty things to him, which creates the revenge/I'm gonna gitchu sucka attitude that fuels the tension b/w the two.

I think MJ becomes a villian actually - but I could be wrong...I'm not a comic reader, but my brother in law mentions that....he also mentioned that it was completely ridiculous what transpired between Peter and Harry at the end...but hell...I don't read the comics so right there I'm already uncaring as to whether the movie follows them.

And thanks for still letting me be in the club, Jazz...I was afraid that with my Spidey love you all would have changed that secret handshake on me ;)
