Well, I highly recommend that everyone else go. I'd go back in a second, but I spent all my Stevie-related travel money on seeing the real Stevie in Vegas and on tour this summer. But damn, it's a fun party. If you're in the NYC area, this is not to be missed.

If Jazmen is not there..then...it will be a farce this year.

Yeah, why no Jazzy this year?
answer, in one word...money. I just can't afford it. I guess once I get famous enough (and I say that tongue in cheek) to have at least my expenses paid and stuff I'll be able to do more shows across the country, but as long as the majority of expenses are coming out of my pocket, I have to do the ones where I'll recoup at least some of the costs.
I also thought I was going to have to be in another state at work during this time and had to make a decision as I couldn't let the producers know last minute...so I had to make a choice. I ended up not having to work though, but the money still wasn't there so it's best I sit out this year.
but I do agree...it's an unbelievable event. I would go every year if I could. and this year it's at a different venue that I've heard is awesome. I hope to be back next year.

I'm going but yes, will be too bad you won't be there Jazzy. Then again, that would kind of hard wouldn't it? To do NOTS and Dreams II back to back. That is the next night isn't it? Too much travelin' ....

going, of course, and am anxious to see how this plays out at the hiro. i can imagine a seven-foot-tall drag queen, dripping with chiffon and extensions, sprawling over the hood of a parked car to smoke a cigarette. i have seen of this at the knitting factory. can't imagine this taking place outside the maritime.
fingers crossed!

Here's another blurb:
http://whatsupnyc.com/blog/archives/cat_clubs.php#010528
NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STEVIES is the biggest and best-known Stevie Nicks fan event in the world, a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. The 2007 edition is a special one for JACKIE FACTORY producers CHI CHI VALENTI, HATTIE HATHAWAY and JOHNNY DYNELL, as NOTS itself is on the EDGE OF SEVENTEEN. This auspicious number demanded a gigantic celebration and show this year, and they found a perfect venue, the HIRO BALLROOM at THE MARITIME HOTEL.

. . . the HIRO BALLROOM at THE MARITIME HOTEL.
This is a really upscale place - a far cry from the seedier places of old.
