Because I am sadly, woefully behind the rest of the world on the latest movies, my son just acquainted me with this movie, and I have to say I LOVE it!!

The young lead (Ed Speleers) is just adorable and the female heroine (Sienna Guillory) is GORGEOUS! are the principles (aside from Jeremy Irons) from Australia or New Zealand? anyone?

anyway, great movie for families, and Im just sorry I didnt see it on the big screen :(

CRAP! I spelled his name wrong!!! can a mod please fix it??

I knew it was a trilogy story, Deb has the first two books of the trilogy (I'm not much of a book reader)

one more thing I just wanted to add: Ive long felt this, but not said it much--I think the UK has WAY more quality product in terms of TV and movies than Hollywood. FAR BETTER. I LOVE what I see from the UK. I think that having British actors helped Pirates (my all time favorite movies bar NONE) immensely! (however, let it be said that I think Johnny Depp carried that movie and is my all time favorite actor)

oh and off topic, only 24 more days until the Pirates 3 release! (pant pant)

Jeremy Irons is an English actor
Ive seen this movie about 5 times and read both books
the second being Elder
When the second movie comes out there will be a few suprises- I cant wait to see it on the big screen

Its amazing how the writer of this book was only 15 when he started-such an imagination
There are a lot of similarities, I feel to the Lord of the rings concerning characters etc

The third book hasnt been written yet, so thats another experience to look forward too

Im so glad you all enjoyed the movie

When I first became aware of the premise of the movie, I was thinking of the Anne McCaffrey series The Dragonriders of Pern. I like this much better I think.

things I noticed on this movie: I think Eragon's mother and foster brother/cousin will be important, and I want to know how it is that Aria (is that right? referring to Sienna Guillory) had so much power without being a Dragon Rider? and is that son of Morzan (sp?) going to turn out to be a traitor? or no? ACK!!!! Also, I wish Brom (Jeremy Irons) didnt have to die, I liked his character here....

I haven't seen the movie, but my step-son has read both of the books. Guess I should rent it.

well i can answer these questions but i wouldnt want to spoil if for u- especially the connection between morzan and eragon but i can tell u that aria is the daughter of the elf queen that is why she is so powerful and their is more than one dragon rider and more than one dragon in existance and eragons cousin plays a huge role
if u really want to know i will tell u-im not that cruel lol
