I found this auction for a "signed" copy of CV on ebay. This is clearly a forged signature as it looks nothing like Stevie's signature...and when does she ever add a smiley face!? How about never! Take a look... http://cgi.ebay.com/Stevie-Nicks-signed-CD-Crystal-Visions-The-Very-Best_W0QQitemZ120113502010QQihZ002QQcategoryZ58QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I have a note she wrote that includes a smiley face. Plus the heart thing with ribbons. The L, S, and N look very similar to the signatures I have. (all of which I know are real as I do not buy them)

honestly, i would never buy an autograph off eBay. well, honestly, i would never buy an autograph, period. but truly, off eBay, chances are almost 100% positive it'd be a forgery.
even if i cared about having a signature, which i don't, i think there's actually something to getting it yourself, no? i mean, otherwise, it is just a signature - there's no experience or memories that come along with it.

The smiley face is odd but the sig looks fine to me.

It doesn't look all that fake to me. I've seen a smiley face before.

That's how I've always felt too!
Also, I think it looks like it could be authentic, but who knows.

I dont know what basis you are going by in saying that it is "clearly a forged signature as it looks nothing like Stevie's signature"..because I would say it looks very much real...
She signed my ticket stub during the TISL tour "Mike, Much Love, Stevie Nicks" and the "Love" and "Stevie Nicks" on this eBay sig look nearly identical...

I totally agree. Her "L" is very distinct and the way she writes "Nicks" is as well. Her "S''s have changed a bit over the years but overall, the signature looks like it could be genuine to me. I compared it to sigs I have and it is almost identical. The smiley face is nearly identical to the one I have too....plus the heart with ribbons. I am not interested in buying autographs, I never have and I just do not see the appeal. If she did not sign the item for me, why would I even want it?

I'm comparing it to these two official signatures. As you can see, there are differences...the N gives it away.

I agree with this. This is one of the Stevie sigs I have that she signed right in front of me

Found the other one online... got this one via Ginny Kamano

Yours are also proof of her distinct N's. Her N always loops from the top, not the side.

She signed this for me, obviously in a hurry but authentic nonetheless:

Actually in that framed one it loops similar to the signed cd. It could be a real autograph...it doesn't look like a horrendous fake to me
And also...do YOUR signatures always look exactly the same? I know mine sure as heck don't...but like others have said, I myself wouldn't buy any autograph on eBay...I like gettin' 'em in person!

Actually the "N " in Pip's framed photo look almost exactly like the ebay auction's. Stevie certainly does NOT write her name the exact same way every time she signs an article. I have a few sigs. and the N's are very similar to each other but not exactly the same. They were also signed eight years apart. The ebay auction looks quite authentic to me. You have to take into consideration whether Stevie was in a hurry when she signed it, too. I have a one from Lindsey that is hardly legible and another that is quite clear. That does not mean that one is a "forgery".

I would agree with this. When Lindsey signed my Buckingham Nicks album at the edge of the stage he was clearly rushed and it's quite a scrawl!

I was only concerned that someone might be trying to expliot Ms. Nicks by selling a forged signature as authentic. I was only comparing it to the ones that i have seen before, and comparitivly, they look different.

Then I'd suggest that you not bid on it
Clearly someone else did - if it is a forgery then it's one of the better ones I've seen.

I know it! I sign the "S" that starts my last name two totally different ways...sometimes it comes out one way, sometimes the other...I really dont know why!
and Pip, my Lindsey Autograph that I got after the philly show looks TOTALLY unlike any LB sig I ever saw...he was in the car driving away as he was signing! ha!
