I was recalling all what happened to me in 1997. It was a particular year. I lived several events, bad and good, specially personal and sentimentally. I was very identified with Silver Springs lyrics caused I lived something very similar that year.
And of course I went to see the Mac, for my first time. And in the world many things were happening

-Fleetwood Mac reunited for 2 shows and later releases an album and dvd.
-They went into the Reunion tour (this was the official name, though many people called the Dance tour).
- Versace was killed
- Everybody (even in the Ledge) were talking about the blockbuster movie Titanic. The question always was.. Did you cry at the end???
- Princess Diana dead in august.

Do you have something to share about 1997?

god, if I can even REMEMBER 1997.

it was the year I started working at my dental office (july)

2 months later, my best friend was killed in a car accident.

I was a freshman in college-not doing so hot, i might add
anatomy and physiology was kicking my ass along with chemistry

hmmm...that's about all that I can think of. I'm sure there were other things, but they were overshadowed my those things. At that time I had no idea of who Fleetwood Mac was, so I don't remember the dance :sorry:

In 1997

I was 10.

I was a HUGE Spice Girl/Pop music fan

I chased around my childhood crush all summer. Unrequited love is a bitch :(

It was also one of the best summer's I ever had even till this day

I was terrified that I was going to 6th grade in September

And I saw a lovely blonde woman one day on television singing "Silver Springs." I was in awe and I had no idea who she was or the song until I was 13. I've been a Stevie fan ever since.

I was 27...

and the music of 1997 mainly sucked golf-balls through a garden-hose (Why is it when the Democrats are in the White House the music in the US sucks so bad?)

I do remembering thinking that FM reunited was kinda cool though.

Yeah, 1997. :)

Well, it was the year before my life changed. I turned 20 that year. I had a good job, was young, hot and single! haha!

I had a boyfriend who was all over me... he loved me to death, and I just couldn't make it work. BUT!!! He bought me 4th row seats to Fleetwood Mac, and that was the first time I ever saw them.

This would be the year of mainly drunken bliss.... when I used to be a stoner... when I didn't have a care in the world. No real responsibilities. I lived with mom and dad, had pleanty of money and men, and lots of fun.

This would be my last year of "childhood" as I met my then soon to be husband in 1998. I was pregnant and had my child that November.

Life hasn't been the same since 1997.....

………I was struggling at first to remember 1997, ‘til you mentioned Diana. I was back home in London from University during that summer and the whole thing was pretty surreal.

It’s memorable for me as that was my second year at College and the first where I shared a house with my friends. Six guys in one house – the place was a complete tip – we only cleaned up once each term just before the landlords did their visit – the bathrooms and kitchen were indescribable:eek: ! And we lived on cheap lager and curry:laugh: . Most of the College lectures are just a blur now. But life was definitely easy then – learning how to be an adult – but given my antics on another thread on Monday evening I still haven’t achieved that yet  !

I do remember The Labour Party winning the General Election – the first I had been old enough to vote in and didn’t Michael Hutchence (INXS) die that year – sad! I think we were all listening to Oasis/Blur/The Verve……….good times………….

I turned 18 that year...I graduated high school in May...

I had just gotten serious about playing guitar about 6 months before I graduated high school

i remember listening to "The Dance" in the car on the way from Tennessee to Mississippi for Thanksgiving. When we got back to TN a few days later mama bought me the Fleetwood Mac "Greatest Hits" CD at the Hamilton Place Mall in Chattanooga, TN. I remember her singing along to "Rhiannon" in the car on the way home...I dont know why i remember that...

1997

I graduated from college and started law school.. which was hell.

I broke up with my boyfriend and then proceeded to be single for 2.5 years. Single for the first time since the age of 17.

I was supposed to go see Fleetwood Mac at Soldier Field but the tickets fell through. I wasn't really disappointed though, because I wasn't completely crazy about them like I am now.

I got my cute, bitchy little kitty, Coco - who is still very cute and bitchy to this day.

Well, let's see........

1. It was the year I turned 23 (November).
2. It was the year I started my masters' in education program (June).
3. The year I got married. It was Thanksgiving weekend (November).
4. The year the Mac got back together, and I saw them from the second row center in Memphis for my birthday from my now husband.
5. The year that my job besides my masters' program was teaching pre-school four year olds. Also, it was the year I realized that small, small kids aren't for me.

97' was great! I was 17 and in highschool withought a care in the word, Beyond elated that my most favorite band were back together, When I heard the news on the radio that morning I was so excited that FLEETWOOD Mac was getting back together tha I walked into my 1st hour class and ANNOUNCED it to everyone. One girl who I didnt really know all that well shouted "I love fleetwood mac! I love "GYPSY"! We went to the concert and have been very best friends for the last ten years! I even brought her with me when I got to meet the band in 2003.

I started Ledge-ing in 1997, despite what my "join on" date says here. When the board was redesigned to this format, I wasn't actively posting at that time, so I didn't bother registering right away. But when this place was one single board, then when it divided into what.. 5 boards? including the "make this place the official place" board, I posted quite a bit. There have been some super nice people here. There have also been some serious jerkwads. :wavey:

Hahah I was nine years old.

I do remember Princess Diana's death tho. I dont think anyone in my family really cared at the time. I was in like, 3rd grade. I don't remember a whole lot from that year. In fact, I remember more from 1994.

We used to hang my friend's sister's Barbie dolls from the trees, set them on fire, and then call her outside just in time for her to see them melting

I am so going to hell

I turned 17 in 1997 - started my senior year of high school in the fall. I had always liked Fleetwood Mac (mom played them quite a bit), so I was really excited when I head about The Dance. I didn't think they'd ever play together again.

I remember Princess Di's death. My mom woke me up and told me on Sunday morning.

Yeah I remember my best friend Kevin calling and telling us she died...

I was 10 too. Life was wonderful. I totally loved the Spice Girls and the Cranberries. I was still in elementary school and had a love/hate relationship with my teacher "Dr.Granny" (I am not kidding). I remember going to the after-school program and playing on the playground with my friends, swinging and pretending we were the Rugrats.

And of the course, The Dance. My mom and I watched the VHS and listened to the cassette in the car all the time. I loved "Rhiannon". I was totally hooked early on. For some reason, it never occured to her to take me to the concert

I look back on that era as the happiest time in my life~
