If you decide to pick up just one copy of Crystal Visions, pick up the CD/DVD combo, I'm sure most of us will anyhow. But the other reason aside from the incredible DVD is the packaging is expanded. With the combo set you get a few more pictures and Stevie's artwork is on the discs themselves.
The Bella Donna sessions on the DVD are VERY cool!!!

Great, thanks for the heads up. I'm heading out during lunch to pick it up.

I have also noticed the the combo pack is very hard to come by...
Best Buy only had one of the combos, and about 12 copies of the single disc. Had to LOOK for the combo. The combo packaging is incredible!

Has anyone bought jus the cd version? I am the kind of person that generally would get both for collectible reasons. I wonder how it's packaged just as cd. No tri-fold obviously, but was hoping there would be a slight difference.

Yes, i bought both and there is a big difference. CV single CD is packaged like any standard CD and i wanted that because i felt like having a standard single disc. The combo is packaged much like the Live in Boston CD/DVD combo and the CD and DVD is cliped in the holders and in the center of the tri-fold case in a pocket, is the 20-page booklet. IMO, you have to get both because the packaging is very different from each other and i love having both!

I bought the only CD/DVD copy that my local BestBuy had.
I pre-ordered the CD/DVD combo from Barnes & Noble. It's supposed to be shipping out today with Joss Stone's new CD/DVD combo. For me personally, it wouldn't be worth it to just get the CD. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Stevie, but they are all the songs that I have, but with a little twist (orchestra on some). And I guess I could have picked the ones that I didn't have & got them on iTunes, but then I'm missing out on the whole CD experience, booklet, etc. Since I haven't seen all her videos, I thought the DVD would be perfect & you get her commentary on them, too.

The edit for Dreams is awful awful awful. Hacked up in all the wrong places. They should have used the edit that actually played on the radio. It reminds of what they did to Sara on the first CD issue of Tusk.

I wasn't real impressed with the B.D. sessions footage, in fact I was kind of bored, I wish Stevie had given us some comentary to go along with that also. The bit about her 'modeling' was funny though. This was one of the best things she could have done for the fans....The commentary with the scarlett version of SB was hilarious!

Me too. :wavey: No clue when I'll be able to watch the DVD (Idol's on tonight, you know) but I've listened to most of the CD. Love the live R&R and Edge. Landslide's OK. I'm not in love with this Rhiannon at all, though, :sorry:

Thanks for the info. I had in fact gotten my DVD/CD combo in the mail yesterday from WB w/ the card. Just if I go out today, wanted to know if I ought to pick up the reg. cd version. Ah heck, ofcourse I will. If my buying 2-3 copies helps. haha. Generally, I'll get 3. One to keep sealed forever. One to play, one to tear up. There is something really wrong about that.

I walked down to the Virgin Megastore to get my combo. It's on sale for $19.99. My Warner preorder still hasn't shown up.

I went to the HMV downtown here in Winnipeg and they didn't have either the combo or the regular version... Checked another smaller store called Cd Plus and they had just the cd version. I asked if they had the cd/dvd combo and he checked his system and said he had none in stock and could order it for me and it would be here in a couple of weeks  I'm like, no thanks, I'll hit Amazon and have it in a few days.
Checked Amazon.ca (Canada) and 3 WEEKS delivery... WTF! So I just ordered from Amazon.com. I should have done a pre-order, I never would have thought it WOULDN'T be in the stores on the day of release! Obviously they didn't plan on putting out too many of the combo versions...

I think Wal-mart and Kmart or any dept stores don't really care about Stevie's cd and any other old artists , all they care is stocking the bins with loads of this new music ***** aka rap, hip hop, teenybopper and ***** rock crap that sells out on the release date.

Thanks for the heads up on that Daniel! I will go downtown later on and buy it. I knew Virgin would have it, but thought they would charge more than 19.99.

Got my combo today and listened, watched and examined everything. It's worth Rock and Roll, Landslide, Dreams (Deep Dish) and a recent decent live Rhiannon (although they should have used the MSO version). It could have been better and less redundant if it included the longer, unedited version of Planets of the Universe, the extended remix of I Can't Wait, the alternate mix of Talk To Me, and the Sheryl Crow mix of Sorcerer. And the studio version of Edge of Seventeen wouldn't be missed at all, especially if another songs-- like the MSO live versions of Gold Dust Woman or Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You -- were included.
Anyone notice that in the liner notes Stevie addresses every song except Rooms On Fire? Could they not find room for it? Weird. The graphics are okay, but Stevie's monochromatic art on the cds doesn't have much impact. They should have gone with some of her more colorful stuff.
I hope this gets enough attention/sales to warrent the reissue of her previous albums in a CD/DVD combo (she seems to be in revisionist mode anyway!). Can you image the possiblity of double disc sets -- like Bella Donna, with another 12 or so b-sides, demos, live and unreleased songs, plus a DVD of her full Bella Donna concert that was only partially released on video a long, long time ago??
However, realistically, to quote Stevie, "It's only a dream."

had Bella Donna, Timespace & TISL today, but no CV (But they were still putting out new releases.)
The Wal-Mart's in Oklahoma cater to the country music crowds, tons, and I mean TONS of new country releases were strategetically (sic) placed on the end-caps of the music aisles.
Brian "Well yee haw Billy Bob get the goat and jump in the pickup and pass me that can of chewin' 'backy" j.
Edit: I saw an Obituary cd in Wal-Mart last week, imagine my surprise at seeing an uncensored death-metal cd at a Wally-World...Gives me hope they may sell Behemoth's upcoming release "Apostasy"!!!
Nuthin' like selling Satanic Death Metal and microwavable dinners in the same store

There's a lot of white space after Leather and Lace, so they definitely could have included Rooms on Fire. Excluding that text looks like a mistake to me because she had plenty to say about it on the DVD.

Art direction has always been a problem with every release. I think CV looks pretty good. I like the selection of pictures, even if some of them aren't really "new" to us. Be thankful Chris Nicks wasn't involved in this project. They should have hired MacMan.

I think Bella Donna has the best shot at getting this treatment. Sales of CV will probably dictate those decisions.

I had to go to four different stores today just to find the CD/DVD version. I called Best Buy and they said they didn't have them in yet but all six they were getting in would be available tomorrow.

the monochromatic art isnt the pale pink colored artwork that is on the 2 track Promo DVD of CV...That color is putrid.
