why Stevie always spins the story on how she and Lindsey ended up in Fleetwood Mac. 30 years later I think she could give Lindsey his kudos.. Oh - this is my reaction to yesterdsay's Sunday Morning segment on CBS with Stevie..

I know - I saw that post.
I do not think she was taking anything away from LB. I think she was just going on with the story. Nor did she lie because Mick did ask both of them to join and the details were not really solicited in this interview. Also, she could have given them and they were edited out.
Finally, she has never denied that FM did not want her and has readily admitted that FM did not want her and LB said it was a package deal  In fact, I think the exact quote in one of many interviews was "if she's good great - if not, she's outa here" A google search of [ "stevie nicks" "package deal" ] will reveal a few articles.
So, I do not see any spinning at all.

It's not that Fleetwood Mac didn't want her -- the matter was they weren't looking for her. They needed a guitarist, not a singer.

True - I guess I equate not needing her with not wanting her. Good thing LB insisted and she went though
