Does anyone know what got Stevie upset during the Edge walk on the left side of the stage? Not sure if this person is a Ledgie or not, but you were right in front of me wearing a white shawl during the Edge walk and you had a cell phone taking either video or photos. You mentioned the Nicks Fix, so I figured you might be a member here or on another board. Or if anyone else knows, please let me know.

Send me a private message. Just need to find out what happened.
Stevie shot me a look that believe me, could kill. But I dont know what happend. Dont think that look was for me, so it kind of is bothering me so that is why I need to know what happened. I know there is so much commotion and excitement during the Edge walk, but hopefully someone knows.

She said "Don't" in a firm way, so not sure what all that was about.

Now you made me curious. Since she was looking at you, did you say anything? I'm not accusing you but maybe she misunderstood. I understand there's a lot of yelling and screaming during the walk.

Nope. I didnt say anything, there were people in front of me. I was just so shocked that she was right there in front of me. I was second one back, but just witnessing it all, totally threw me. Should have asked the people in front of me what went on, but was so taken aback.

I did not say anything or even shake her hand in front of me.
Just was able to touch her hand when she was to the left of me and was not even looking at me until she got to the people in front of me.

I guess I will never know, it just kind of bothers me that something happened and Stevie did seem really upset by something. Man, if looks could kill, I swear. I always wanted to get a look from Stevie, but not like that. Always wanted a smile or a nod. Oh well. Maybe I thought she was looking at me, I was so close, but could definitely see that she was upset, but she recovered quickly, she went down the line and smiled and danced and sang the rest of the set as if nothing was wrong.

I guess I am stressing over this for no reason, just affected me quite a bit.
I know it is odd, but the idea of Stevie being upset with me, is like me disappointing her or something. Dont know... guess I am just rambling.

I totally understand where you're coming from. I'd be upset too if I were in your shoes but you didn't say anything so I highly doubt "the look" was directed at you. I wouldn't worry if I were you. Like you said, maybe you thought she was looking at you. Besides, it must be pretty confusing for her, being up there, people all yelling and screaming and everybody wanting to touch her. Sometimes it's like watching a Jesus movie....

I saw Stevie shoot a similar angry look during the Edge walk on Tuesday. The people to the left of me were pushing forcefully in order to reach her. I think she usually reserves those really angry looks for times when she fears people will be hurt. She gives the less intense, annoyed looks to people she sees taking flash photos. Anyway, don't worry--probably she saw someone pushing or doing something inappropriate to someone else and didn't like it. I'm sure it wasn't directed to you.

Maybe she was yelling "don't" to someone who was pushing. I've seen her do that before.

You probably got the tail-end of a "look" that was for someone else. Try not to worry about it. I'm sure it wasn't directed to you. :wavey:

I wouldn't worry about it. I have seen Stevie get uptight and shoot angry looks a few times during the Edge Walk. No matter what she says, I think she gets a bit anxious when doing the entire "walk". Her body language suggests that and the fact that she puts on the "smile" two seconds after she has icily snapped "get down, stop it" to someone who is pushing. I can understand why...those steps at Caesar's leave her a bit "exposed"..there is nothing really between her and the surging masses. People get very pushy and aggressive during the Walk and I am sure it makes her nervous.

I agree with Sorceress that it was about pushing. Tuesday, around the left side of the stage she stopped and pointed at someone and shouted "Don't" regarding pushing. Unfortunately when she got to where I was standing, a girl pushed me forward to attempt to get a shawl to Stevie and I tripped on the steps and wasn't able to shake her hand. I think it is unfortunate that people feel that they can trample on others to satisfy a want. Oh well, Wednesday was better as I was able to shake her gloved hand. :)

Thanks guys for a little bit of background on this. I do agree that Stevie really does want to connect with people via The Edge Walk and for her to still do that at each show knowing people push each other would be very nerve wrecking I am sure. I never want to see a situation where she gets hurt or something.

Well I hope that look was not directed at me because honestly, with that much excitement going on,time has a way of standing still, yet fleeting and I tried to be as self controlling as possible. I am not rude when trying to shake her hand, just going with the crowd. And if that look was for me, well, my Husband said look on the bright side. "you got her attention" and I am like yeah, but that is not how I want it. She has such a wonderful smile. Anyway, it might have been directed at someone else, I just happened to look right at her because she was so close. Her eyes really do show a lot of emotion.

It is amazing she can put herself through that, hop back up on stage and then continue to smile and go on, even if there were some issues during the walk.

Well, hopefully someone got video or audio of the shows. I will post my photos as soon as I get them developed. Tonight I fly out of Vegas and land in VA around 7 am on 3/27, so hopefully my flight will be safe.
Everyone take care.

-Sandy

Hrm....I can't remember if it was Fri or Sat, but I remember seeing her pointing and I thought she was saying "Get back...get back...." like people were pushing or something.

I've been seeing Stevie on tour since 1982 and I think she's always been cool about pics being taken. I don't think she has a problem with it at all.
Don Henley, however, does. I remember at Woodstock in 1998 during the Enchanted tour, he went onstage before Stevie and he was having a fit about people taking pics and it was outside. I thought it was childish of him. It's not like people make a ton of money on concert photos. Most keep them for personal enjoyment. I'm sure she was just upset if she thought fans were being injured or whatever.

I'd love to know what that was about.

There is no doubt in my mind it had to do with either pushing or someone trying to block the hand of someone else with theirs. I was up for the Edge Walk all four nights and Stevie yelled at people for these things every time. She sure fights for us! She went to shake my husband's hand on Saturday and some obnoxious drunk guy tried to block with his own hand. Stevie did not shake that guy's hand and then came back to my husband and took both of his hands in hers.

As Stevie said in the "hamburger helper interview" all she wants is respect for herself and mutual respect for her fans during the "edge walk".She always was touched how gentle most of her fans were with her.......so she must feel hurt and pissed when she doesn't get that respect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6S6LNC5mobs

The whole "edge" business was crazy to me. I had front row and like 2 songs before, security let all these people rush the stage without even signaling us that we could. So front row kind of got pushed to the back, which I thought was crap. Anyway... I saw what was going on with that and some guy had a picture or something he was trying to give her and she didn't want to take it and he was apparently like running over people trying to keep up with her to hand it to her. She made like a cut off sign with her hand and said "no" or "don't" or something of the sort and finally, just grabbed the pic and handed it to her tour manager. Sorry if that person posts on here or someone knows who it is, but it was a little much.

...

Oh yes she does. During the Street Angel tour, when she was the most insecure about her weight, I was about 20-something rows back (as always) and started snapping a few pics during the show - maybe the edge walk I can't remember - and my friend Shelley said something like, "I think she just pointed at you". And I was like "what do you mean?". She said she thought Stevie looked over at someone backstage and then pointed at me. Sure enough some angry guy comes running right up to me and tells me to give him the camera. I had borrowed it from a friend and told him I couldn't give it to him. He said they would take the film and hold it for me at the security office. It took a long while but I got it back after the show. I know Stevie couldn't see me and didn't know who was taking the pictures but she saw the flashes and knew the direction of where to send her goon. And he got me.

Mmm...maybe. Except at this show, I was totally too far away for the flashes to bother her. It was probably her weight at the time, that's why she sent her flying monkey after me.

However, during the Gold Dust tour. A nice lady usher let me move to the third row at the end of the show and snap a few pics. I really think the flashes were bothering her then. Just look at her face here. I was all FLASH, FLASH, FLASH!!! one after another. I think for that one moment she really hated me.

There you go. I think that would royally piss me off also. And it doesn't matter if it's being done from 5 feet or 20 feet away, flashes are flashes and they are annoying.

She didn't seem to have a problem with it in London (2003). I took a pic every once in a while and she was fine with it. She did however gave someone a look that could kill who just kept on flashing. Even I was annoyed by it and I was way behind him/her.

GREAT PIC! Did you use a flash? And by "flashing" we are talking cameras right? I mean I didn't expose myself. Not to Stevie anyway.

Hahahahahaha yes, I meant cameras LOL. And yes, I used a flash. She didn't seem to mind because I took pics every once in a while but the person up front kept on clicking away. If looks could kill that person would've been a pile of ashes.
Here's another one.

I love that jacket with tails. That pic is even better. She looked great with her hair that way. The shawls really add weight to her. She looks pounds thinner win the second pic.
