I wanted to update the sales thread by making a new one because there are so many pages to the previous thread. So, here is the official Amazon sales thread!
CV is currently at #13 in Amazon's sales ranking!!!
Here's the link...http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-Visions-Very-Stevie-Nicks/dp/B000N3ST8O/ref=pd_ts_m_52/102-4336997-6224902?ie=UTF8&s=music

SWEET!!!
After we struck out with the Sunday ads this morning, Joshua and I were checking around online to see which retailer had it for the best price (Target, but only by pennies), and we saw that it was ranked #39 at Amazon.com.
We're both THRILLED that it's jumped all the way to #13 in just a few hours! :blob1:

Oh well, if Amazon.com's charts are a reliable indication, hopefully word of mouth has been good enough!

I was REALLY surprised Best Buy had nothing listed for her. They are always showing Rumours in their Ads. But it IS listed on their site, which is where Ill be buying mine on Tuesday.

Amazon.com has a new feature now on Stevie's CV link where you can view the "Stand Back" video...pretty cool!

On "the" Toronto tv morning show, "Breakfast Television", they were talking about the new releases that come out today and the host held up CV and talked about it's release. I was shocked, they don't normally do that

It's so refreshing seeing all the crap music on the chart, and then Stevie is sandwiched in there, out of the blue. I hope she is number one soon. I can honestly say I amnot familiar with most of the artists on that chart other than Stevie.

I went to FYE in one of my local malls (they usually advertise hip-hop artists and artists of that generation), and among the new releases (including Fabolous or however he spells his name, plus two others of that genre or similar) was Stevie Nicks.
I felt something similar to what I felt when I noticed this one Facebook profile in which every musical act but one among his favorites was a death metal band. The exception? Stevie Nicks.

with a similar taste to music as mine. I listen to about 85% metal (All genres of metal except Nu-Metal which is an American genre) 15% whatever else I like - And seeing all the Stevie cd's mixed with the likes of Behemoth (Boxed sets only) would probably boggle the minds of the chiffonheads & death-purists.

Excellent!!! Went to BN.com and it is ranked 6 for the CD and 3 for the CD/DVD combo and Amazon has it ranked as 10 for the CD/DVD combo.
At times like these I just want to thumb my nose at the music industry to say, HA !! See? An artist with talent can make it in the business and not be succumbed to all this corporate BS and fakery.

I can't believe Elton John vaulted up from #33 to #10.
I didn't even know he had something coming out, until Joshua and I were in the stores looking for 'Crystal Visions.'
I just don't understand what happened -- if Warners didn't ship enough units or what, but, as we all saw, there were TONS of copies for every other artist... from Elton to Macy Gray... and only a few copies of Stevie's in each store. There's no way that isn't hurting her first week sales.

Could be a pricing thing along with availability and visibility, although I think the cd/dvd of Stevie's is a pretty good deal for what you get... I don't know what Elton's was priced at but I understand it was a single disc... Plus every store I went too he had some pretty good positioning, whereas Stevie's was in the regular spot... I still think she's got a good chance at top 20.

Yeah, Elton John's "Number Ones" - a compilation of his chart-toppers -- is even more of a retread than Stevie's comp. At least Stevie added some "new" stuff to the package. Elton's only new addition was a DVD of some videos and live performances. Can't understand how that is selling so well, considering his ubiquitous output and many compilation albums!!
Since Tower Records died, I bought my Stevie comp at an old, much lauded very cool independant store here in Portland, OR. However, there are many other records stores here....and I've noticed that I haven't seen Stevie's CD in any of the ones I've been to lately. Is there a distribution problem? Apparently Heroes and Crystal Visions are hard to find.

I've already mentioned how many stores Joshua and I had to go to, to get our copies (and you have to figure that, between Josh, myself and Sorcerer386, we cleared out our local stores of the CD+DVD copies -- so anyone else who looked, would have struck out).
My cousin's husband had to go to three stores to get one in Oklahoma City. Another friend had to go to four. And when Joshua tried to find a copy of the standard CD for his dad yesterday, he totally struck out at every store he went to.
I can only imagine how many more copies this would have sold in its first week, if supply had matched demand. What a pity.

Not a bad debut, but like alot of others are mentioning, it was hard to find, not displayed well, and if they did have it, there were only a few copies.
I got my copy at the Virgin Megastore in downtown San Francisco, and the one I pulled off the shelf was the only CD/DVD I saw in the entire store!
On the bright side, I'll be at Stevie's opening show in Concord!

Top 30. I'm wondering if a lot of fans who couldn't find it in the stores ordered it online (Amazon, itunes, Barnes and Noble, etc.) - Stevie did quite well - hovering in the top 10 on both Amazon and B&N. Does Soundscan even count the online sales?
p.s. Record stores complain that they are losing sales to online purchases - what do you expect when you don't have enough copies in the stores. Fans will go elsewhere.

I live in Pittsburgh, PA and my husband looked a couple of places to find the cd/dvd combo for me. He found the cd at target but when we went back they were all sold out so I had to order the combo on Amazon. This cd would have been much higher on the charts if they would have had the cd's in stock. I am thinking it might do better the second week since I know that Best Buy said they were getting more of it in stock.

This would have done a LOT better if Warners hadn't had their thumbs up their asses and shipped out a measly four copies to each store.
Hey, Stevie... time to dump the idiots and go to an independent label. If your albums are going to be hard to find anyway, you might as well at least be a big fish in a small pond instead of an inconsequential fish in a huge pond.

This whole thing really has me re-thinking my concerns about Stevie switching to an independent label. Although I've always liked the idea in theory, I've always had some major trepidation about it because I've worried about Stevie facing the same distribution issues that other artists have encountered on independent labels. But, hell, if a major label like Warners can't even manage to properly ship enough units of a new release, then she might as well go somewhere else.

I was on a hunt for some electronic equipment and other stuff on Saturday and Sunday. Just for fun, I checked stock.
4 Targets - No dvd. 3 dopies of cd in 2, 1 in another. Nothing in the other.
2 Barnes and Noble - 1 copy of cd, no dvd. They had been shipped 3 dvds and all were gone. Other B and N - nothing.
1 Borders. Nothing.
2 Best Buy. No dvd. No cd. Nothing.
I couldn't have bought the dvd if I had wanted to.
I called Ameoba, just to see if anyone in this city could buy the dvd. They had about 10 on the floor.
My estimate is that LA county was shipped maybe 100 copies.
10 million people live here.
What a joke. Way to go Warner Brothers.
My promo came through yesterday. No time to watch yet.

Best buy only had one copy of the dvd/cd combo and four of the cds.
Target...three cds, no dvds and they were not displayed in the new release section, they were stuffed in the "Nicks" section of Pop Rock.
Walmart..neither
Sam's Club had about twenty cds but no combos.
All kidding aside, Under the Skin was easier to find.

For the hell of it, I decided to see how the CD/DVD is doing over at Amazon considering it has been out now for almost 2 weeks and it is either 15 or 18 right now on this wonderful Easter Sunday. I say 15 because on the front page for CV it says 15, but when you click on the "top sellers in music" it says 18, but still very impressive considering we are now in a lull of Stevie promoting it. The CD itself is at 100, so the CD/DVD combo was a great idea to sell the product.
Come on Stevie... where are the tv appearances to promote CV during April (except for Ellen). I mean we have not heard anything regarding the late night show circuit for Leno, Letterman, etc... Come on Stevie, promote the hell out of CV, so people know it is out there.
I have heard (not seen yet) that the CV Trailer is being shown during The View and on HGTV, so maybe that is why the CD/DVD is still doing well over at Amazon. Damn, can you tell I need more Stevie on TV? I am so looking forward to seeing her on Ellen's show and hope Ellen can talk to her and ask some good questions and get Stevie to smile and let that wonderful humor side come out.
