That was somewhat interesting, What did y'all think?
I laughed at her referral of being at 'the baked potato' on the street had she never became successful.
The way she looked and laughed at mentioning attacking Lindsey from across the room was hilarious.

It was pretty good. By the way, she didn't say she'd be a baked potato, she said she'd be AT the Baked Potato working had she not become famous.
It was interesting to finally tell her side of the infamous "Tango" incident. Once again, if and when her book ever comes out, I'm sure it will be quite an eye opener.

Awesome...She looks great...interview was good...and the commercial for CV:thumbsup:
i thought the whole piece was very well done - the editing and the segues between the old and new performances were pretty cool.
LOTSA Tusk documentary footage! what's up with that?!
Nothing earth shattering in the interview...
Yeah, the baked potato was funny...is that a real place? I thought it was funny when she was talking about how she called Lindsey up to tell him they needed to perform for clinton and she says, "by the way, i'm on tranquilizers"
i thought she looked good but she had on the serious interview face.
judging from the vegas footage, looks like "black dress" is the predominant clothing of choice for her these days. not even the white cape for edge???

Man she looked good! Her face looked thin and young (did they have the fuzzy lens in? ;) ), and her hair looked fabulous. The interview was very well done (IMO) and lots of great concert footage, old and new

I thought she looked beautiful (even though she had WAAAAY too much eye makeup on). Her skin is incredible. The segment itself was well done. Kind of going over old history, but maybe good for newer fans who don't know Stevie's every move like we do. I love how she said that she is a "free spirit". Oh, and also I liked what she said about being in a band vs. solo.

I thought she looked fantastic! I could have done without the history of FM again but I guess some people don't know the whole story. But why didn't she talk about CV?? I think she should have talked more about it being that's the whole point of the segment in the first place. But all in all, it was well done!

I agree... But they have to sensationalize it some how.... and the re-aquanting everyone about her & her past takes so long... But it was good... She looked good... Hopefully there's more about CV on the Today show and Ellen.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Ellen's interview will be much more unconventional. Wouldn't it be great if instead of dancing to the DJ's track at the beginning, Ellen opened up with La Nicks singing Stand Back live and Ellen Dancing
Why don't these "experts" think of cool things like that?

Instead of re-hashing the past, although I will agree the Baked Potatoe, attacking Lindsey, and tranquilizers were my favorite parts. I forgot how awful she looked during the Clinton thing too...

I think she looked great. She needs that heavy eye makeup (I think)...which was hot...She can laugh about her being all tranked out, and having to strangle Lindsey...That's funny...Just when you are sort of moving on and over someone...something like this will reel you back in...She's a rockstar!

I thought she looked fantastic, sure the eye makeup was heavy but she isn't exactly thirty years old anymore and it was damn hot regardless :) The comment about being on tranquilizers was to die for, I love it when she jokes around and throws away the "this.is.serious" attitude for just a second. All in all, it was just another reason why I'm so excited for what seems like it's going to be the next chapter in Stevie history.

Ouch. Well I was going more for the "I know what I am and I'm going to embrace it while I can still give something back to the fans" chapter, but if you'd rather she sat at home and baked cookies then to each his own
I do think that Crystal Visions is a step forward, it's not just another greatest hits cd, she's included the dvd, she's added the booklet, and it does seem like La Nicks is trying to give us something for staying loyal after all these years. Sorry for being excited about it.

Joshua and I woke up bright and early to watch it (only Stevie could get us out of bed at 9am this week  ), and we both loved it. We were hoping for a little more footage from Vegas (specifically "Rock And Roll"), but, aside from that, it was fun.
We then scoured the Sunday paper for any 'Crystal Visions' spottings in the ads section, to see who's going to have the best price. Unfortunately Target was the only one that featured it, and they only listed the standard CD version. :(
Ok, now we're going back to bed!

I think what I love most about Stevie is that you could picture yourself sitting down and talking to her like you would an old friend. Sure she's LA NICKS (and we love her for it) but she's also very funny and down-to-earth at the same time. She's just HER and she's not trying to put on a fake English accent (Madonna anyone?) or pretend to be anyone other than who she is.

I enjoyed it very much, although it seemed very similar to the 20/20 piece back in 2001. And I'm not sure I liked the morphing of old (and fab) Rhiannon live footage with new (and boring) Rhiannon live footage from Vegas.
Just when I was thinking to myself, doesn't Stevie know how to play anything on the piano besides Rhiannon she starts in with HAEWAFY! Which I liked quite a bit...
As people have said, nothing really new. She's a rock and roll star who doesn't want to be tied down in a relationship.....klonopin kept her from working....Lindsey is a prick.....she did odd jobs during the BN days.....
But I never tire of listening to her talk.

i just watched it (finally). that woman? is seriously gorgeous. would that we all look that beautiful at 58.
love the slightly lighter hair colour, and i thought her eyes were smokey hot. and her skin? let's not even start. i'd be here all night. i don't care if it was lighting and a soft focus lens. that's what they're there for. she looked stunning.
now, i do have to wonder if there is anyone on EARTH who does not know the fleetwood mac story at this point. seriously. i'm not being sarcastic. do you think it's possible to be, let's say, over 35 and not know it? even peripherally? the reporter was asking questions with such fake increduality. i would love to be inside stevie's brain when she's facing the same questons she's faced for decades. "does anyone do research around here?? didn't they read umpteen versions of this story on google? do i need to tell it again?"
oh, and while we're talking about the reporter... i'm sorry, but her delivery bites! is she a regular on cbs sunday morning? someone get her some training. (i work in tv news; i get to be this bitchy about stuff like that! ) man, to get 10:30 for a profile is like GOLD - and while they made excellent use of archive footage, there just wasn't enough new information. basically, the reporter was asking stevie about history. nothing in that profile moved the stevie nicks story forward.
but i digress.
i can't wait to see her in toronto in june. i hope her voice holds up through the chris isaak leg of the tour. it sounds like she's in great shape at the moment. right now, i don't even care that i'll be hearing and seeing the same old setlist...

I watch CBS Sunday Morning every week. Rita Braver (sp) is a really good reporter. She didn't come across fake or insincere to me at all. I think she did a pretty good job and may not have asked everything she could have, but I'm sure it was all edited based on Stevie's answers to whatever was asked.
I'm looking forward to the Ellen interview but no way in hell will it be more insightful or revealing. Ellen will be funny, Stevie will be funny but for the most part it'll be more of a guest selling a CD. Plus I really really don't think Ellen even is familiar with much of Stevie's music. 'Cept for Stand Back - woo hoo.

about how she ended up in Fleetwood Mac. Maybe I'm wrong but didn't they really want Lindsey to be the new guitar player and he would only go with Stevie (package deal story). They did not initially want or have a need for Stevie but ended up giving in to Lindsey's requirements. She puts a spin on that one every time I've ever seen an interview...

See, and I was thinking, based on the raggedy state of Rita's voice, that either she did some serious partying back in the day, or maybe she was singing along to Rhiannon in her living room all those years.
I should add, here, though, that I really like scratchy voices.
Stevie's hair looked like silk, and the eyes did seem extreme to me, but the overall effect was beautiful and glamorous. I wish the story had included more current info, but it was a nicely cohesive segment.

No you're not. Somebody else on SW thinks the same thing. Stevie has some major jowels and a droopy neck. Her eyes look heavier to me which would give more reason for that thick magic marker like makeup which is there to give the illusion of a raised eyelid. Her chin looks normal to me.
People who've had plastic surgery wish they looked as well preserved as Stevie.

Am I the only person who thinks Stevie might have had some work done recently? Her eyes look more alert and her chin area looks tighter than in the summer of 2005.
I was thinking that she had her eyes done, since she no longer has that droopy lidded look anymore. And it seemed that for a while one eye was droopier than the other... but now they are both even. Hence, the heavy black kohl eye shadow- to help mask the scarring? But still... she doesn't exhibit any obvious signs of surgery (like the continually "surprised" look), so she does keep us guessing. Her surgeon is an artiste!
But I did notice that her jawline is a bit more jowly. And it doesn't quite move correctly- almost as if it was paralyzed with Botox. Still, she looks amazing all things considered.

it wasn't anything we didn't know, but did a great job of cliffnoting her career in 10 mins.
That's exactly what it was. Not bad, but nothing spectacular.

dude, that was my first thought when she popped on the screen.
Me too. The neck waddle disappeared. Good for her if she did. She looked fab, but the eye makeup was a bit heavy for an interview airing early in the morning, IMO.
about how she ended up in Fleetwood Mac.
I thought the same thing. I was like "no, Stevie, they only wanted Lindsey, but he got you in...."

Maybe she just had a little Restylane. Or, maybe just some rest?

you're back! Not yet. I am suffering from severe sleep deprivation, jetlag and a nasty case of the flu, complete with a sore throat and hacking up of one's lungs. Give me a few more days to recover. :wavey: ;)

now, i do have to wonder if there is anyone on EARTH who does not know the fleetwood mac story at this point. seriously. i'm not being sarcastic. do you think it's possible to be, let's say, over 35 and not know it? even peripherally? the reporter was asking questions with such fake increduality. i would love to be inside stevie's brain when she's facing the same questons she's faced for decades.
I share your frustration, but...
It's the CBS Sunday Morning show. They do nice, long features that are pleasant, safe, and somewhat boring. Anytime they feature a longtime singer/actor, etc., they do the same thing: overview of their career mixed with comments from the singer/actor about their career as a whole. They did the same thing with Bob Seger a few weeks ago.
What this interview lacked in excitement or anything "new" for us, it made up for in honoring the career of a legend. And I really don't think the average CBS Sunday Morning show viewer knows the FM story. Go out and ask 25 people of various ages to tell you the story of how LB/SN joined FM and none of them will have a clue. Many won't even know there was a FM before LB/SN.

She is a pretty woman.
Having said that, she also is very aware of how she is filmed and photographed. Moreover, her makeup is carefully applied in that awareness. For example, look at the before pics on the Today Show which were posted awhile back. Though she is still very pretty in those pics, the transformation achieved by the make up, corsets, and lighting is very apparent and also IMO brilliant.
It is sort of like people think she is being slighted in some way unless she is a100% natural beauty.

My friend Jim is a segment producer for The Today Show. He said Stevie is very nice but particular about her lighting and angles.

You have to be. Not to insult lighting and tech people, but if they do not know your best angle, they likely are not going to find it. Lighting is everything and those who have not been on stage or in front of the camera likely do not get that. A good shot of all the lighting used in that segment is actually in that segment at about 3:44 on the copy I have - note the placement of the lights and those are just the ones you can see.
None of this takes away from her beauty. It is just part of being in the business.

You're right, IF she has a surgeon, he/she is brillant. But I seriously doubt, and based on Stevie's past comments, that a singer would have work done on their chin or nose, including botox. Not that she's never fibbed before lol but I believe her on that one.

Exaclty. That's why I get annoyed when they print "stars without makeup" pics, as if it's shocking that they don't always look that good.

I think she has a beauty that is different, unusual. Lauren Hutton also has a very unusual beauty. It is interesting, not contrived and boring. There are many beautiful people who are very boring. Their beauty is tired. But I think Stevie should scrap the bright red lipstick and go with a red-brown shade, kinda sheer. If you go too red and pair it with a strong eye, the two end up fighting and it ages you, ads weight to the face. The makeup she had on the Dance DVD was nice, more subtle and airy.

Maybe, but I didn't realize that was in question. The prettiest girl still starts to look old, after a while. Also, I didn't think suggesting she had rested would mean she isn't naturally good-looking. I was in fact suggesting that she needn't have had surgery to look better than last time we saw her.
The truth is, I hardly care what she looks like, I am just glad she is still singing.

While she's at it, she can dump those dated bright red hooker nails too. :wavey: I've been moaning about that for years.....

I believe The Dance DVD was shot in a different manner and with very controled stage lighting in a darkened room. Also, I am condifident there was digital editing and smoothing/alteration done for the final cut.
Also, that was ten years ago
As for the red lipstick - I like it, but a darker color could be cool. I am trying to think if she has gone that route since the 70's.
