So I was in a store after work today looking at cd's, and I went to ask one of the workers where to find a particular artist, and of course she was on the phone! I waited there for about 30 seconds, and finally gave up. She even looked at me while she talked, and I could tell it wasnt a customer, but a friend. How annoying! I didnt think that stuff still happened.

Its music store staff David - we're a bunch of assholes :laugh:I highly doubt you or anyone working for you would do that. You have integrity.

yeah, i hate that. people are so friggin' rude these days. at my old job i refused to wait on anyone who was talking on a phone, and if i'm in a store and a worker is on the phone and i need their assistance, i stand next to them and stare at them until they get off the damn phone. because i'm an asshole.

^^

I HATE that. Now had there been a polite, "I'm sorry, I'll be right with you" even that would have been better...but to just keep talking and ignore a customer..that's crap.

But see, sometimes I can understand how people ignore customers. Customers suck

yeah, customers can suck, but i try not to be an asshole to them before they have a chance to be an asshole to me first.

But you know what I mean though - sometimes you can just be so sick of dealing with customers that you just don't want to deal with them

I don't think I have intentionally ignored a customer before - But I have definately been cold to them, even if they are nice...

i've probably been cold to a customer, but i've never ignored someone ... unless they were talking on a goddamned cell phone.

They will go ourt of business, and blame downloading, and big box retailers...
However the real reason will be lack of QUALITY customer service...
Or even a "hello" would work in your case...

I think that in the case of my company, they have realised that bad customer service is a huge part of why we are going downhill - and are trying to curb it. But you also can't dismiss the massive impact downloading and large retailers selling their stock underprice has on music retailers...
