Saw her this past Saturday. She's still got it. Very active on stage, still really skinny. She's looking her age, for sure - don't think she uses La Mer. Vocally, she was spot on. She does not always go for the high notes, though. She hit them a few times, to show us she still could. But generally, most songs are a key or two lower.

I can't recall the exact setlist, here's what I do remember. Show was about an hour & 15 minutes.

All Fired Up
Shadows of the Night
Invincible (intro'd as one of her favorite songs, but from one of the worst movies ever made, lol. God, I love Legend of Billie Jean!)
2 newer bluesy tunes
Acoustic version of We Live For Love (here's where the high notes came in - her voice just soared)
We Belong
Hell Is For Children (this one rocked!)
2 newer tunes again
Hit Me With Your Best Shot

ENCORE:
Promises in the Dark
Love is a Battlefield

I love Pat. In fact, I've been on a Benatar kick lately, and listening to a lot of her stuff. Watching the 'Choice Cuts' DVD a lot lately, too.

My faves are "We Live For Love," "Invincible" and "Somebody's Baby."

Did any of the new songs make an impression on you?

Yes, but not enough for me to remember their names, apparently. :D I think 2 were from one of her more recent albums (Innamorata {sp}, maybe?) and 2 were new. One was something like Let's Stay Together (not Al Green's, lol.)

ROCK!!!!!

I think she looks good for her age. God, I'd kill to hear Shadows of the Night. Oh, wait, she's coming here some time.

:blob2:

Glad you had a good time, thanks for the pics. She still kinda has that 80's skanky/pretty coke whore look. Love it. (I know, she wasn't a coke head, she's just skinny. Still, it's a look, one I like).

I totally have a tape of me when I was 8 singing Shadows. *sigh*.

Carrie, Benatard? I thought I was the only one. :P. Mus-turd. ****-inue. It's kind of in the same vein, it's like you have to say Benatard.

Edit: I just noticed my very, very favorite song isn't on the list. Why doesn't she do Heartbreaker? Too many assholes like me singing along?

I LOVE Shadows of the Night!

I also love We Belong.

For grins - go here and look at these pics. She needs SERIOUS fashion help and her crotch has something round hanging out of it in several of these

Yeah, but that was back in the day, so of course she's wearing a leotard. I love the leotard days. I think I'll wear one tomorrow.

I'm wearing a headband right now. Is hers cloth? I didn't notice. Mine is plastic. :D I have bangs now, I have to wear headbands, kinda.

Edit: actually my hair pretty much looks like hers except it's long.

And my leotards are geniune, from back in the day. They were my moms. I can feel myself being mocked on Carrie and Jaz's show already.

You know 1983 is my favorite year evah.

I need to help you guys get a more original/personal sense of fashion, and a little flair. Ain't nuttin' wrong with a leotard. If it looks good. So what if it's shiny? At least I'm not wearing the same old **** everyone wears.

great pics and review Paulette.

How did you know she just joined the Pink Ladies? I mean, the Hater Hos?

great pics, Paula. I love Pat's stuff, I pretty much grew up on it - my mom was always playing Crimes of Passion or Precious Time in the car, so I (almost) know both albums word-for-word. I think I'd have to say my favorite songs of hers are We Belong, Precious Time, Painted Desert and Hell Is For Children. And how about that cover of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights", eh?

It was. I didn't get the lighted palm trees, but then Neil kept saying "in Hawaii" so I guess they live there now.

Pat can rock! I don't know about now....
She was however one of the worst concerts I have ever seen. It was in 1986 and she was terrible!

However, her blues album that she put out was great, and then I saw her again and she was alright....

Hell Is For Children is my favorite song, and her first 2 albums are classics!

I saw her on this tour (this past July) and on the previous tour as well. I actually had the exact same seat in the exact same venue (1st row aisle right orch) for each show. We gave her flowers at the first one during True Love (the bluesy one with the killer solo) while Neil went out into the audience to do the solo...something he didnt do this tour, which sucked...

I think the lesser known ones she did on the last show were "Wide Awake in Dreamland" "Sanctuary" and "Let's Stay Together", as well as "True Love".... maybe these are some she did at your show, Paula (she is almost as bad as Stevie with her setlists...)

YES! Those were the names of the songs! Thanks, Mike!

BTW - someone gave her a bouquet with a big "25" balloon for her 25th wedding anniversary with Neil. After she took it, she put it on the stage for the rest of the show. Oh, and people kept yelling out "you're hot" to her AND Neil - to which Pat finally responded "yeah, I guess we've held up pretty well for a couple of old people."

i have always loved pat benatar. she was the very first artist i tried to meet backstage after a show (i was about 15 - i've seen her 2 or 3 times live). no luck with meeting her (a wave) but met neil geraldo. he was very cool - very nice.

if you want to hear a cool cover of pat - check out jann arden's version of love is a battlefield. it's mellowfied....
