ok, so, I'll start one.
currently I only have one. I got it like my last year of college. I really wanted one, but couldn't decide what I wanted, but I wanted something somewhat meaningful. so, I decided with my school's logo. lame? you may think so, but wait. it's an interlocking triangle. 3 has always been my favorite number. fits. triangle. Stevie. works. triangle also known as a Delta. I am from the Delta. works. so, in the end, I'm glad I got it. it's in the "bull's eye" area. I want 2 more. one is the TISL dragon. not sure where. the other is "dream on, silly dreamer" in Sanskrit. I have a pic, I'll post later. want it possibly on my wrist or forearm, but I'm still too chicken **** to get it.

I came close to getting a tat once. I was 17 and me and my friends went to this head shop/tattoo/piercing place. They were all getting either tats or piercings - finally it was my turn - I was in the chair and everything - and the manager showed up, yelled at the guy for servicing us with no I.D. and we were asked to leave...my friends all got either pierced or tattooed and I got nothing
I was going to get a lone eighth note on my ankle...but alas, it was not to be. I've not had the desire to get one since

Well, I would say you should stick that one where the delta thing is. Hm. On your ass maybe? Do you have a hairy ass? If so, you could have that laser hair removal done before you get the tattoo.
When I worked at Fry's Electronics, there was this guy and his girlfriend who would come in the store, and they were both covered head to toe in tattoos. Even their faces. And the guy had these horns implanted into this skull. It was freaky.

lol. srlsy? I was thinking more left forearm, lower back or something. and I'm not telling you anything about my ass. good things come to those who wait. lol. j/k.
and as for your "friends" - I've seen people like that on TV and it freaks me eff out. esp. the people who split their tongues and file their teeth into points. ewww.

I got it at the beginning of my freshman year of college. It was either there or between my thumb & index finger on my right hand, and I ultimately decided I wanted another job sometime, thus.. yeah.
Stars just mean a lot to me, symbolically. That tattoo sums up high school & the years to come. But it'll probably be the last because my tattoo experience was NOT enjoyable. Scariest day of my life.
(That was taken right after I got it, ~btw~, thus the redness & shavedness.)

that's really cool. I love stars too. I had a friend that was obsessed with stars. esp. blue ones. and is it just the angle or is the right "arm" of that star longer than the left side? just asking cause my OCD would require that I remove it and start over if it were on me.

Anyway, I have three, but if I wasn't sure about the lameness level, I would want this. Some girl on here drew it. I forgot who, I'm sorry, girl! You might not be able to see, but the detail on Stevie's face is perfect. Like, photo perfect. It's uncanny. I'm also scared the tattoo artist wouldn't be able to do it as perfectly, and I wouldn't like it without that face perfection. But like I said, it might be too lame to have an actual tattoo of Stevie. If I did, it would probably be in a hidey place.

I have three. One on my right lower back which I got in Barcelona, one on my ankle which I got in Los Angeles and one right above the curve between my thigh and my tummy. It's about 4 inches below my belly button and 3 inches to the right. That one I got here in my hometown a few years ago.

Do you know how hard it is to take a pic of the middle of your back?! Sheesh.
Here's this one. It's distorted because my arms are all bent back, it is actually round. And you can't see the bottom, but you get the idea. Hmm, it needs to be recolored, I see now.

I've been planning on getting one for months now and somehow, I just seem to keep putting it off. Maybe that's a sign
Anyway, here's what it's going to be, I think more significant than the design itself is the fact that one of my best friends in the world made it for me...

I've thought about having a celtic cross (About 6 inches tall) placed on my shoulder with the initals B.S.J. below.
May have the number "666" placed on the opposite shoulder - But I need to get my health in better shape before I have a tattoo (Arachnoid cysts can cause problems with ones immune system - so if I cannot get that took care of I wont be getting a tat)
Even thought about having my first name in Cherokee as a tat, but there's no letter "R" in the Cherokee alphabet.
Deb is planning on getting some design when she reaches the 5 year mark of being cancer free - Possibly the roman numeral "V".

That is pretty awesome.
My best friend drew a design for a friend of ours and he had done as a tat, too. I wish I could find a photo of it, but no luck. It was orginally a pen and ink drawing she did of a scarab beetle with bird's wings. He had it done on his upper back between his shoulders.
I like tattoos. I've considered getting one myself, but ultimately decided that, with my nearly non-existant threshold for pain, it was probably a bad idea.

I have two. One is in the middle of my lower back. It is fairly big - an orange gerbera daisy. The other is small and is on my right hip. It is a crescent moon with a few stars around it. I'd like to have it touched up and made larger.
I'd like to get another. Either a dandelion with some of the little spors "blowing off" or a drangonfly. I think the dandelion might be tough because the white color won't show up very well. I'm not sure where to get it either. I like to keep them in places where I can cover them up unless in a bikini.
And I will post pics of them as soon as I have my boyfriend take some.

I have three. A rose on my right ankle I had done when I was 18, an angel on my left shoulder that I had done when Sara was about a year old. It has her name across the top and is blonde hair and blue eyed, for her, and a dragonfly I had done when my husband passed. I'm going on April 3rd to have my angle redone. It's fading, and the name looks horrible. I'll post pics when it's finished.

my custom work is still being drawn out. it is a tremendous, several-thousand dollar project. until the art is exactly perfect, i'm not having any of it done, because it's all going to flow.
currently, a couple artist friends and i are working on piecing together works from my favorite artist, Alphonse Mucha. all art nouveau, very flowery, subtle colors. it will be beautiful, and i am so, so, so excited. when it's done, i'll have both arms with 3/4th sleeves wrapping around the shoulders into a full back piece. the main elements are his muses of the 4 seasons, muses of art, music, poetry, and dance, and byzantine style zodiac. all tied together with his floral motifs and decoratif borders.
the hardest part has been finding the appropriate tattoo artist. i've found a couple who are somewhat experienced in art nouveau, but i'm holding out until i know the person is absolutely right for the job, because i will be spending an awful lot of time in their chair.
at some point, i'll show some of the images, but i'm hesitant to post it because i want my ink to be totally custom for me (hence the point of piecing it all together to show the tattoo artist at once).
i love beautiful tattoos, and i actually am kind of excited about the pain of the needle in a creepy way that most people can't understand.

I'm glad you're excited, because that will be a looooot of pain.
That sounds gorgeous, I have to say. I understand about getting the right artist. Especially for something so complex. The one on my back, I described it really detailed to the guy, and he totally did it not how I wanted. I was pissed, but it was free, and a friend of a friend, so I didn't say anything.
Tattoo artists can be really sensitive about that stuff. There was that guy, then the first tattoo I got, the one Alice in Wonderland themed, my friend drew it, put it together from the original drawings in the book. The tattoo guy was a total buttmunch when I brought him the drawing, saying I wanted it exactly like that. He was all crabby, and was like "I'm an artist" I guess he was a well known tatt guy from way back, but still.
I wouldn't want that Stevie one I posted earlier unless someone did it exactly that way.

I think you could find an artist to do it exactly. There are several artists who specialize in greyscale only.. they're dedicated to reproducing a picture exactly. You should check out some tattoo magazines and conventions for a greyscale artist. Nothing against the homegrowns.. but I want a talented professional for my stuff, and it sounds like you're the same way.

Yeah, but I don't think I could travel too far or anything. But I will check around town, you can't throw a rock here without hitting a tat/piercing parlor. Plus Chico, same thing, I could travel there. And San Francisco, of course.
Thanks for the info, I forgot about greyscale specific artists. I still haven't decided that it isn't way too lame to get an actual pic of Stevie on my body, though. I mean, if my parents saw it, I'd be embarrassed, and they'd roll their eyes (at least my mom would), and say something about stupid obsessions with famous people. At least judging from my last visit home. Still, it would be so pretty. :D
