So the time change. It's been all over the media because of it's earlyness this year and some of the possible consequences.

What are your thoughts? Happy about it? Pissed? Indifferent?

Me? I'm thrilled - I LOVE Spring Forward and I love the extra daylight, so I'm completely excited that it's early this year, I'm not too worried about the computer situation etc....

Oh I don't mind losing the hour - but I love that it will no longer be dark when I leave work. I look forward to this every year - it's definitely a welcomed sign of spring.

it was almost 50 here today. i almost threw a party.

Ah. This is where I brag again that I don't really have to get up early, and I don't use alarm clock etc :p

In the past though my love of extra light has far surpassed my bitterness at losing an hour.

Don't you love when the temps finally start going back up? It's supposed to hit the low 60s here this weekend....and if it does I will be doing this:
:blob1: or this: :]

I like the extra light but because it's earlier this year will we have those longer days right away or three weeks from now? I mean doesn't the sun go down at it's own set time and not when we decide it should come down. See I'm looking forward to it but really I'm a little confused.

the amt of daylight we get won't change, but because we're springing forward we'll be getting daylight until later in the day, which i like.

I'm usually pretty bitter about losing the hour but...what can I do? I do look forward to spring- here in NC we have had some truly spring like days- they definitely raise one's spirits!

they definitely raise one's spirits! It sure does. It excites me when I start seeing my flowers peeking thru the ground. I'm glad we get the extra hour a few weeks earlier.

word.

frankly, i still think it's ridiculous that we even do this. its initial purpose hundreds of years ago was so that farmers would have more daylight to work planting their crops. seems sort of pointless to me now

I LOVE DST! Everyone I know hates it though. I mow 6 acres, and I love having that extra hour of mowing time. (not that I like mowing. I don't. But it helps me squeeze it all into one day).

yeah. "spring forward" is a mnemonic to remember which way to change your clock: spring forward/fall back.

You know you'll have to record yourself speaking and post it, right? Actually, I'm serious. I've wanted to do a thread like that for awhile... I know you'd all love to listen to me yammer on in my so-called Canadian accent. ;D

That would be cool. I'm curious to hear what a "male nanny fine" voice sounds like, too.

I wouldn't be able to participate, though, since I don't have a mic on my computer. :(

Oh well, y'all don't need to hear my "phone sex operator" voice anyway.

I've tried recording a few things, but I end up sounding like a complete idiot. lol. It's harder than it sounds; as much as I love to talk, I find myself drawing a blank when it comes to that. Maybe I should just demonstrate the way we pronounce certain things and jingle some toonies in the background.

Michael - seriously try it some time. You can air your thoughts on Mika some more. ;)

What, being a sex phone operator? I think it'd be so funny. I'd probably feel silly too, and end up being really sarcastic and over the top with it. Some sickos would love that. :p

Well I don't know about Britain - but over here it is three weeks earlier than before because of a law passed in 2005. The move is SUPPOSED to save energy - but study this brilliant idea was based upon was some 30 years old so the nay sayers are saying this will not save energy at all.

So yeah our time change is three weeks early this year, and fall back will come a week later.

Um, may I comment on daylight savings?

No, apparently not, you'd be interupting ;)

I'm NOT a morning person, so I love the extra daylight later in the day.

Plus - we're technically time travelling, without having to worry about being eaten by the giant insect-headed toilet brush monsters of "The Future." *spooky music*

And despite seeing this thread before I logged off last night, and seeing a reminder about it on the Weather Channel before I started getting ready for bed, I still forgot. I woke up this morning and was confused for 15 minutes before I figured out what an idiot I am.

DrummerDeanna

 I was totally thinking about the time travel aspect last night...no joke.

I changed all my clocks back last night, then was pleasantly surprised that my computer, phone etc had no problem changing on their own
