what do you do when you're nervous??

anyone have any weird little quirks when you're nervous??

some people fidget, some people stutter.

I have no idea why, but i tend to grab my ear and play with it, rub, whatever. Which is strange (in itself :lol: ) but stan did that in the movie It.


if i'm overly nervous, I may piss myself. say, if i were ontop of that ramp at the grand canyon :laugh: No, I've never done that, but I would if I were there.

Really though I fidget when I'm nervous...otherwise I've really not noticed my nervous quirks.

I twist paper, like napkins or post-its. Not like Mr. Peepers:lol: , but at a slow pace.

Usually, I talk really really fast.....stumble over words....stutter. My knees shake really really bad, too. It's weird.

I bite my nails and usually start hyperventilating. I'm a huge wuss. :laugh:

Oh yeah I stutter a lot too. And my hand shakes wildly. :distress: :laugh:

When I used to race years ago - athletics (100m) - I used to throw up before races :laugh: That's partly why I stopped doing it.. I'd spend half a day feeling awful just for 11 seconds of racing... :o

Other than that my knee shakes if I'm sitting down and being nervous, particularly if I'm tired anyway. I found that out recently :laugh:

And I once knew a guy who had to manically tear the labels off his beer bottles if he was talking to a girl in a bar.. He'd tear them into little pieces without realising it and leave little shreds everywhere where he'd been sitting :laugh:

I get clumsy & drop stuff. Good thing I'm not usually nervous at work while I'm giving injections, huh?

I get a tiny bit nervous when my plane's about to take off. I tend to wring my hands & tap my feet.

Back in high school choir I had a solo once and I was really nervous. The upper left corner of my mouth started to twitch and wouldn't stop. It hasn't come back since, so I'm guessing nothing scares me like performing for a crowd. :D

I've had that happen, but I don't remember the particular incident that caused it. My eye twitches sometimes, too. But I hear that's stress induced :shrug:

Too much meth makes my eyes twitch. But that's not from nervousness. Anyway. I get quiet and then start saying the most inappropriate things when I start to get over it.

I don't usually get nervous...about anything...or if I do, it's usually not for long. but when I do get nervous my mouth gets really dry and my heartrate goes way up.

to combat all that I try to drink water and take deep breaths. usually works for me.

I tend to twitch, and when Im slightly nervous, I'll bite my fingers - no, not my finger nails - my actual fingers :laugh:

When I get really nervous- I usually have to go to the bathroom. Seriously. I don't do anything that anyone could see when I'm nervous, but the **** cramps start rolling.:nod:

When I had the long dna-curl hair i would have both sides spinning around my fingers.

depends on the degree of nervousness.

minor: my voice will shake a little. i can usually control it. and i stammer a bit.

a little worse: all of the above, and my stomach starts acting up.

really bad: all of the above, plus i feel like throwing up. my knees shake. i can hardly speak. (this is rare - and the situation has to be really upsetting)
