i don't think this has been mentioned yet ... i was just checking the today concert lineup to see when cyndi was going to be on, (3/12, if anyone's interested ;) ), and stevie's going to be performing on 3/30! :blob1:

Yes, her last Today show appearance in September 2005 was a great experience, especially seeing/hearing the soundchecks and Mama sans facepaint :eek:, etc. But I was really peeved that right before her segment, they had that section right in front of the stage reserved for the Today show staffers, flackies, cast of "Chicago," etc. :mad: Plus one of the camera rigs was right in my line of view. Still... can't wait for this!

I wouldn't count on this being outdoors! I don't think the outdoor "Summer Concert Series" in the plaza kicks off until sometime in April. :shrug: So I wonder what the protocol is for getting inside of the studio. I get the impression that it's strictly invitation-only due to limited capacity. :shrug:

This is all so exciting...the day before my b-day (March 31st) Stevie will perform on the Today show again!! When she was on in September 05, although she was on for Habitat For Humanity and in support of helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina, when Katie Couric was talking about TISL as being her latest solo release, right then and there i knew that it was time for Stevie to release something new and get off the TISL promo train after over four years! I'm sure this will top the Sept. 05 performance because this is promoting something brand new!!

I was wondering about the outdoor thing myself. I think Keith Urban and one or two others have recently played outside on the Plaza...as part of that Toyota Concert thingie. Keith did it after his rehab, I believe in January. I do not think you can get into the studio for an indoor performance. I remember in 01 she was supposed to perform and I looked into it and there was "no audience" indoors. She plays basically for the tv audience and Today show staff. I do hope it is an outdoor concert! I totally agree about the Soundchecks, they were the best part of the SYW and 2005 appearances. (Stevie was sans facepaint at both but looked hot during the SYW performance with her hair in a bun) Actually she looked hot in 2005 as well. I swear she looked YOUNGER before she came out in full stage makeup and the black dress. :lol:

Thanks for the heads up.I in the habbit of taping the nbc fridaymorning concert segments for the last few years now.
The one thing nbc is, they have awesome sound mixing. not like that cbs
superbowl sh2t sound.

just back in February, I had to record this show since Deb wanted it. I remember laughing because KU mentioned he would have rather been back in LA with his wife since it was brutally cold the morning of his appearance (He played 4 songs, but only 2 were broadcast).

Guess I'll have to get up early on the 30th to record Stevie's appearance too :thumbsup:

Lots of photos were posted of Stevie at the Soundcheck in 2005. I do not have them on this computer but do a quick search for Today Show 05...I know quite a few really good ones were taken. She had her hair up in a Walmart Scrunchie and big sunglasses on...in the dark! She did take them off a few times. She looked quite pretty. I thought she looked stunning at the SYW Today Show soundcheck sans makeup. She had on light pink lipgloss/stick but thats it. Her hair was in a bun...she looked refreshingly sweet.

Definately. The Soundchecks were my favorite part of both appearances. Plus the commercial banter. The thing is...we need to make sure she is doing an outdoor concert. There are plenty of artists who a scheduled on the "Today Show" who do their songs inside the studio. There is no way to get inside unless you have connections with NBC, etc. We are all hoping this is part of the Toyota Concert Series but I am not so sure. March 30th might be a bit chilly for Stevie and her voice. Especially at 8:00 AM. FM was there for SYW at the end of April and she was freezing. :nod: I got there at maybe 5:00 AM last time and got in line...I was fourth or fifth. It was not necessary to be there that early...alot of the line was actually there for Katie and Matt. She did her Soundcheck in 2005 and with FM at about 6:00 AM. Her band was out there for awhile rehearsing before she came out. Sharona sang Landslide by herself, etc. Stevie was sooo adorable and fun..so yea, get there for the Soundcheck. :nod:

does anyone know if it is going to be inside or outside? i don't want to trek all the way there and it be inside. i could be home watching it on TV. but if it is outside and i don't go i will be so annoyed. do i take the trip just in case? who is going to try to go? just wondering again what everyone's opinion is to this topic. :wavey:

I was going to go but now that I think it is indoors, I am not going. If she is doing two songs, as the Nicksfix says, I seriously think it will be an indoor concert. I did think that March 30 would be a bit iffy for Stevie to be doing an outdoor gig...(she is no Keith Urban who played outdoors in ten degree weather...:D ) As Paula pointed out, CL just played indoors. If we hear otherwise, I will definately go up but as of now, I will be watching on tv. It is a two hour drive for me so I don't want to make that trek, in the early morning hours, just to watch her jump out of a limo and sing on a moniter from the Plaza.
