I blamed my P.O.S. computer at first. Rebooted. Did a disc cleanup. Defragged. Rebooted again. Cussed and screamed. No luck.

Tried clicking it from my favorites. Tried typing the url in manually. Tried accessing it through a link on another site. Then went over to Seven Wonders to see if I was alone in not being able to access the boards. Discovered I wasn't alone and hung around there until it was announced that the Ledge was back up and immediately came over.

I really need to get a life. :laugh: :distress:

So glad that it is back up. I have had a few not so great times here lately but I would hate to see The Ledge be shut down for good. I kept checking it all weekend and I felt like I was missing something important. I don't like that feeling. Let's thank Marty and Lisa for all of their hard work that goes into the Penguin site.

I was surprised at all the familiar faces at 7W, which is why I did sign in...but now the Ledge is back up, so I didn't "fully" cheat on it :p

I also thought I may have been banned. I also checked 7 Wonders to see if anyone mentioned anything over there but I didn't see it so I really thought I was banned. Then I thought that my work somehow determined that I spend several hours a day here and decided to block my access. So, I too am glad it is back up.

And yes, it does seem much slower. I've had to close it and re-log (is that a word?) on again several times.

Just so no one has to wonder, if anyone gets bans, strikes, or warnings, you will be notified via email. You will not just be unable to log on or access the Ledge. In fact, I believe that being banned doesn't keep you from viewing the Ledge, you just can't post under your user name.

Did anyone read SW, that our Ledge outage thread got moved to the "links" forum, apparently by LiquidBlue5000. I asked why, and he? said something to the effect that we weren't SW members. I pointed out that we WERE, in fact, members(duh, in the ability to post). He said that most of us DESPISE SW! I told him that I thought he was wrong, but he's not buying it. He says 90% of us either- A) Dislike the board, or- B) Wish it didn't exist.

I never realized that there was that much animosity between the boards.:shrug:

Just because "I" prefer the Ledge, doesn't mean that I hate SW. I just like hanging out with you older, bitter, people!:p :blob2:

I remember specifically posting that I appreciated him AND marty/lis for doing such a great job on holding the boards together. I also thanked the 7W folks for taking us in while the ledge was down.

He is bitter at me because I stopped posting at SW for a while and continued posting here. I started posting there again, and he just being really bitchy in his replies - we exchanged words, and I apologised, he apologised and things were fine. Then they changed the rules, took away PM rights etc. and I voiced my opinion over it, and he deleted my post. I have not spoken to him since...

Your guess is as good as mine as to why he is pissed at everyone else :shrug:

Well, I'm only giving my honest opinion, and I stand by it.
It wasn't a personal attack, only an observation.

I used to work for a boss like that. When he finally got fired, after several years, 98% of the employees were dancing in the streets.

personally, i stopped going there eons ago because, well, i just found there were two very different generations at the two boards, and i just felt i had more in common with posters here (and frankly, find people's posts here more interesting - er, for the most part :rolleyes: ) it doesn't mean i loathe and detest 7W; i just have precious little free time, and i choose to spend some of it here. but when the ledge went down on the weekend, i went over to see if anyone else was wondering what happened, too.

man. it's too bad Brian's raised it to such a personal, bitter level. i don't think there actually IS such a bitter conflict for most of us.

I thought we were all Mac fans. :shrug: Homie, I think you might not understand the point of the "Links" forum....they have fifty different forums over there for every topic under the sun. The Links forum is for threads ABOUT other boards. So I guess your thread was mostly about the Ledge so he moved it. :shrug: All the other threads in Links are about other boards or people's own links to their own boards (Barbara's hair thread) I agree that Links is sort of hidden and it seems like he moved it to get it out of chitchat but that probably wasn't really the case. His reply did inflame things, IMHO. Note..I am not defending 7W, Brian or any posts..just stating what Links is. The amount of forums over there is nuts. I do love the pictures forum and trades but three chit chats is too many.

Exactly. Curtis & I met up with Brian at the Pittsburgh Two Voices show 6/05 & he seemed really cool. I sat next to him & we had a great time - actually, he's in my video of the Edge Rush handshake; he was blocking me from security. :p Anyway, over that summer I got turned off by his superior attitude here, and his frequent demands for praise. How many times did people thank him for recording audio for so many shows, only to have him repeatedly remind everyone "none of you would have any of these bootlegs if it weren't for me." Yeah, dude, we get it, we've all said "thank you" 100 times. :shrug: What else do you want?

Same with 7W - it was great that he started it when The Ledge was down - people were really appreciative and told him so. But it's just the internet, it's just a band, and things started being taken a bit too seriously. Post where you want, who the hell cares.

Yeah, I never post there anymore. I don't even visit for the same reasons as above. It cracks me up that the SW was created because The Ledge was down for quite some time, and now he's pissed because we don't post over there. This is my home. I have no time for another board.

I visit both boards everyday. I enjoy going and posting to both because there really are two different types of groups of people on each. I agree about too many different forums, but it gives me something to do. I wish everyone would post to both because its great.

I met Brian this weekend and he was very nice. Very thankful that he organized the party, which was a total blast. I wish there were more ledgies there though!
