Most fun GDW ever! Miniskirt! Dancing! Crazed tambo-whacking! Bongo freakout with Mick!

From the 1981 Bob Welch & Friends special. It's a must see - just thought I'd point it out for anyone who hasn't had the pleasure. Mick & Christine are also there, so technically I suppose this should be in the Rumours forum. Shoot me. :D

Oh crap - just noticed the very end of the YouTube video is cut off. Stevie says, "They never let me play GDW that long ... ever!" The audio file is complete.

I'm so glad this was '81 miniskirt and not BTM Tour miniskirt!

Thanks for posting. Loves it.

could bob and lindsey co-exist?

not in my world. and i don't think they could do it in RL, either. lindsey's such a prima donna. good for him, i love him, but i would love to see a SN/BW/CM/JM/MF lineup. ooh, or what if he and stevie toured? sack eye sack, stevie, and tour with bob!

it's not like there aren't other guitarists already in the band why not have one you can actually bill as a member and not just backing band.
lindsey and bob jammin back and forth
god -
how's that song go again?
oh yah - "Dream on . Silly Silly Dreamer!"

you know, you bring up a good point. why the hell do we need carlos rios? fukc that dude. if they want to have an army of guitars, they should choose some from the 900 guitarists who have already been in FM.

they show john mcvie at the begining of the clip too backstage or somewhere -

they are having so much fun in this
thanks for posting-

they really are having a good time.

note to FM: this is what makes a good performance, not weird, uber-planned etched-in-stone setlists.

I can't stop watching this. And for the record - I didn't post the vid - I just ran across it on YouTube this eve. The squeal I let out scared poor Zorro something awful - he flew away and hid in his towel.

Carrie - I was thinking the same thing about Bob Welch. Is it me, or does he seem to make Stevie happy in some intangible way? Of course I'm only judging by this and the CalJam "Ebony Eyes" thing. But damn. The only time I've seen this level of joy from her when Lindsey is onstage is the "Angel" from the TuskDoc.

And Bucky I don't think John was onstage for this song. He's there - but the whole thing is one big jam session. I'm pretty sure he played on the song Christine sang (which I can't remember at present). Ann Wilson is there also.

OK - time to click "watch again". Yes!

This is such a joy to watch and listen to: Stevie is radiant (maybe lit), the audio is great, the chemistry is great! I really love Stevie with Bob Welch (at least in the 2 vids I have seen) too.
Thanks for pointing us to it.

this is an outstanding version of GDW..so much energy! My favorite part is towards the end when Stevie picks up the tambo and starts banging away. She also looks amazingly hot ;)

^^

Good ole Stevie - missing her cue as always.

She makes up for it tho. And what was Chris saying about the A-flat key?

"If the last jam hadn't been in A-flat, I'd have been on it. I can't play in A-flat!!!"

And are you the one who posted all those awesome vids to veoh? If so, THANK YOU!!! I've been going thru your list for days, and I'm only about a third of the way thru.

god, chris is so funny. she's right, though, a-flat sucks if you're a pianist. and drunk.
