Heather Mills: Unlikely My Leg Will Fly Off on Dancing
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2007 11:30 AM EST

By Stephen M. Silverman (People.com)

Heather Mills has mentioned the unmentionable when it comes to her upcoming stint on the fourth edition of Dancing With the Stars.

Addressing the question of whether her prosthetic leg might come off while she's competing, Mills – who was struck by a police motorcycle in 1993, which necessitated the amputation of her left leg below the knee – tells TV's Extra, "I'm quite happy to be thrown around and hopefully my leg will stay on."

To put fears to rest, however, she adds, "It's very unlikely my leg is going to fly off, although it would be quite funny. I'll have a strap on which I wouldn't normally in every day life."

With a laugh, she also says of dancing partner Jonathan Roberts, "I don't want to let Jonathan down or give anyone in the audience a heart attack."

Still the estranged wife of Paul McCartney says of the upcoming experience, "To be honest, in my mad crazy life it's actually going to be great fun ... like a holiday!"

Further about Roberts, Mills says that the two are not dating, despite tabloid rumors to the contrary. "If anybody does they are just completely stupid," says Mills. "He's a happily married man."

Modesty, if not age, may also keep her from donning those revealing DWTS outfits: "Now I'm hitting 40, I think I'll keep my tummy covered." But when she does encounter criticism from the show's judges, Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, Mills says she'll "probably just let it wash over me – it's nothing personal ... if I cry, don't worry about me!"

Girding herself for what's ahead, Mills admits, "I've got no dancing background and with my leg I can't push it. ... I love to dance in the disco, but that's about it. Natural rhythm is coming in handy."

The new season of the ABC show debuts March 19. Besides Mills, other contestants will include Billy Ray Cyrus and former 'N Sync star Joey Fatone. Again...

And a double-entendre to boot!

I can't stand this show. The only reason I would think about watching is if there was a chance her prosthetic would fly off. But since there's isn't ... meh ...

I totally forgot to mention this when I heard about it. I hate that show, it's tacky beyond belief (of course, I have no such issue with Top Model or American Idol, so figure that one out  ) but my parents love it, so I'm sure I'll hear all about it.

I think landmines should be placed in the dancefloor and these dance-a-tards should have to blindly tango around 'em.

I read somewhere that her dad just passed away recently. He seemed like a loveable old curmudgeon when he was on her reality. Pretty sad.

I completely agree that she should be on this show in some way. Not necessarily as a contestant but maybe a commentator or judge?

You're selling her short. I think there is a good chance that it'll fly off, knock Joey FATone out and she'll have no choice but to break into "Circle Dance"

I hope she falls and impales herself on her peg leg. That ho doesn't deserve to lick the dog $h*t off the bottom of Paul McCartney's hemp-soled shoes.
