This was the funniest shizz I've read in recent memory, like genius level, but it won't fit in my sig.

Might as well make it an official thread, right? Sure, it isn't as important as chapstick or gum, but I'm hoping y'all will get a laugh. And perhaps you can add things to the backpack, but Sparky nailed it hard.

You just know if she ever had a backpack, like in HS, that it perfectly accessorized her straw hat and gunnesax type sundress hippie chick getup. It was faded blue denim. It was decked out with fringe. Patches liberally covered it with moons, stars, diamonds, hearts. It was a virtual Lucky Charms wonderland. There was velvet involved in some fashion. And lace. Perhaps dried flowers. It followed her everywhere and contained journals, mascara, lip gloss, an astrology book, guitar picks, a capo, ribbons, bows, concealer, one of those fat blue 6 colors in one bic pens, a beaded keychain of some sort, loose earrings necklaces and bracelets, a few stray joints, some dusty lint covered watermelon jolly ranchers and no birth control. Joni Mitchell lyrics had been lovingly inscribed on it with that Bic pen in the appropriate colors. It left a haze of patchouli or rose perfume in its wake. She loved that backpack.~*

  It gets funnier every time...

Great idea! I'm lucky that I found it hidden in some other thread, but I would hate to think that others had missed it. Oh, Amber, I think you should let everyone know why Sparky chose this compose to ode to Stevie's backpack. It's even funnier then.

Sparky - submit this to those writing agents - they'll snap you up in a minute.

^^^ Totally. Also, I tried for like, 10 minutes to edit it in a way that it would fit in my sig...

Me, too. It caps it off perfectly for a final guffaw.

I just noticed, did Sparky mean to say "Lucky Charms wonderland"?

Well, I can't wait anymore. :p It was written after Amber posted that she initially misheard the "Greta" lyric as "she's got her backpack, and she's off to the valley...."

Thank God for Amber and her frequent mishearing of lyrics, and thank God for Sparky and his writing prowess.

You forgot the ending.

Years later, Stevie was having another impromptu party when it was discovered by yet another unknown party crasher that wandered in and out of her LA home. It was lying in the back of Stevie's closet under a discarded shawl which, until recently, was used as a standby bed for one of her yorkies. It contained various demo tapes, which the crasher thusly stole and let out into the world. The backpack iteself was sold on EBAY and later ended up at Wynnco.

It still reads that way, if you see what I mean. I just noticed it. I changed it on here.

And let's not forget that she does sing about Lucky Charms in "Gold and Braid".

I'm certain it's a Backpack Reference.

I don't understand alla that mushy mushmouth singing either, but right before the guitar solo she says something about Lucky Charms.

I do think near the end she may also say "Backpack in the doorway, sitting in the doorway, been waitin there all day all these years."
