So, what's your preference?

goldustsongbird
02-25-2007, 02:45 AM
Everything that doesn't suck. I don't like whisky or scotch. But almost anything else is fair game. I'm not crazy about beer, but if that's all you've got...

What can I say, I'm Italian-Scottish. We like our alch.

^^^Dammit, I forgot about scotch. Now THAT's the only one that I won't touch(okay, that and gin).:o

DrummerDeanna

Absolutely gin. I love me some gin. Bombay Sapphire is my favorite ( ) But I do enjoy Tanqueray as well.

I had two free gin and tonics last night..made my night. It's definitely my alcohol of choice.

I can no longer drink Vodka (long and vomitous story). Everything else is ok - and I love fruity/girly drinks (pina coladas)...but when it's all said and done a good gin and tonic makes me one happy happy girl.

^^^De, we're definitely not stomach companions! Whew, I had the worst night of my life, on gin. I was about 18, and can still picture it like it was yesterday. Good Lard I was sick. Begging my friends to leave me to die. Second place honors would go to peppermint schnapps!

That would be me and Vodka. And lately any sweet and sour drink. Good God I just pray for death after drinking Vodka. My stomach actually turns just thinking about it. It's a shame, really, because I enjoyed Vodka drinks.....but one night after a day of no food and a bottle of store-brand Vodka turned me off the stuff really really quick.

Rum for me. My main preference is midori sour, but I love rum every now and then.

Oddly, rum is really my favorite, but I rarely drink it. I guess mainly because I like rum and COKE, but I don't drink any caffeine after "my" morning. The last time I ordered rum and cokes(specifically asking for caffeine free....bartender told me that the Diet Coke was caffeine free....I could tell I'd been drugged, several times. I asked her if she'd been giving me caffeine free, LIKE I ORDERED? She told me that she forgotten. I was up all night.)
Anyway, pardon the ramble, that's why I don't drink rum very often....if I do, it's rum and Sprite......but it's just not the same.

Tequila.
Patron.
Silver.

If I drink anything else, its f*ck off more expensive than that.

Damn. That figures.

I did recently try Vodka again, as it's been years since my vomitous night of horror. Still a no-go. I was sick again, not as bad as the first time, but I still felt like ass. I even took it easy as it was my first romp with Vodka since it had wronged me....but apparently me and Vodka are not meant to be.

I'm a recovering alcoholic. When I drank, I drank Patron Anejo straight like a fine sipping scotch. It's that smooth. I didn't mess with the Reposado, although the oak barrel aging for 6 months is nice it had a bite to it that I didn't care for. The Silver had nothing on the Anejo. If you are going to drink Silver you may as well just drink 1800 or the cheaper stuff. The only difference with the Silver is that is is clear.

Comparing silver to 1800? Blasphemy!

It tastes so smooth to me, and never, ever gives me a hangover.

Anejo is good too, but me likey the Silver.

Cheap tequila always gives me hang. I hear its the dye they usually put in it.

I just don't like the Silver's after bite. And since I don't mix it with anything, I just shoot it. And I'll agree Silver is a cut above 1800. Once I tried Anejo it was all over.
I didn't know they put dye in Cuervo but maybe that's what brings the crazy too?

Beer... when it's the thing to do...
EX: Go out for beers, concerts, ball games...

Vodka... at home chilling out... vodka/tonic on a summers evening...

Tequila... I love margaritas!!!! Shots will do when there is something to celebrate....

When it's go out for "drinks".... Grey Goose on the rocks w/ a twist.

Vodka and Wine.

Mixed together?

I'm a beer girl all the way. And no dark fancy real beer for me either - gimme a domestic ale or pilsner. Labatt Blue Light is my usual, Michelob or Bud Light will do if necessary. Least faves are MGD, Coors Light & anything in the Piels/Busch/Milwaukee's Best realm. Oh, I do like Amstel Light, but that's about as dark/bitter as I can tolerate. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is OK too, but I have to sip it & have a glass of water nearby - so what's the point?

I'll drink most of the new malt beverages - Mike's Hard Lime is a fave. I like wine, but I like cheap wine without much kick - Berringer white zin will do. Frozen margaritas with salt are yummy, as are Mudslides. As far as mixed drinks, White Russians or Fuzzy Navels are about all I can handle - and only 1 or 2 of either. My stomach can't tolerate a lot of hard liquor, I'll have heartburn for days. :distress: And nooooooooo shots. I don't like them, they make me ill, and I get drunk way too fast.

You, evidently, have not had a good drink made for you.

I had a great grape daquiri weekend. A jigger of rum, lime juice - about a tablespoon - a dash of simple syrup and about three tablespoons grape juice. Shaken with four ice cubes (I am meticulous about coctails). Pour into small rocks glass and enjoy thoroughly. :]

Gosh, I love liquor.

I like to drink, too, but alcohol is actually kind of a pain in the bun, drug wise. After a few, you pretty much can't do anything too useful. Unless you consider dancing "useful". Then there's the thing where you could quite possibly be half out of commission the next day, as well.
There are definitely more "productive" drugs to be had.

I'll take whatever. For some reason, I was born with the ability to drink like a grown man. And cuss like a sailor.

I don't do "drugs" anymore and I've been trying to drink less.. but there really isn't a better buzz than getting stoned off some headies and sipping back on some Amber ale in the middle of the day. Afternoon buzz during the summer = perfect day.

Yep, vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice and pineapple juice and lots of ice. I'll make mine without the cranberry juice though. Yummy drink.
