COME ON LINDSEY!!!!!! One Canada date wont make your tour a World Tour! Only Europe can do that (maybe Australia too, BUT DAMMIT, THEY HAD STEVIE LAST YEAR! !!!!!!), SO COME ON OVER!

I reckon he will fire in a few UK Dates. I know im very optimistic but just look at the amount of additional US shows he's doing. Hes Loving this tour, it must be going well for him. So if this is the case and if he decides to continue the tour on for another while then he will have to Play a few gigs on this side of the water. Because hes basically played everywhere in USA.

I bet Lindsey wants to try a few UK Gigs and he has all sorts of managers and advisors talking him out of it, just to suit themselves.

It would be no problem for lindsey to grab a guitar and do a few gigs ( pretty decent sized gigs infact) here. With a little promotion he would fill up the theatres and Halls up and down the country (Ireland)

But as i said, I think he might do a few UK dates. mabye round , june july time.

Anyway I'll be there with my model 1 and he'd better sign it.

Dear Lindsey. Are you aware of the fact that a big deal of your biggest fans are Europeans? We communicate using the net together and we guarantee you the warmest welcome imaginable. It'll be worth the few extra bucks: the press over here ranked your new album very high on their yearlists, so take the chance to blow them away with your innovative liveshow. You can't imagine the critical acclaim Under the Skin reveived over here. Now please put your small band in a plane and do some london gigs...maybe amsterdam? We ARE craving for some lindsey-solo-energy over here!

Gerald.

Yes and Ireland is but a mere drop in the ocean compared to the size of Canada.
Lindsey is probably looking at the map of Ireland now and saying "well I could go, but the rest of the band might not fit in. It looks pretty small"

or something to that effect.

There's press-attention enough. UTS is picked up great over here. In journalism ofcourse. Not the big audience.:D Promotion should not be a reason for not doing it. It'll get some attention, I'm sure. More than enough for a few shows.

So Peestie who's your favourite guitarist now Lindsey Buckingham or Tony Iommi.

It really depends on the day as for favourite guitarist. Tony's a big influence on my lead guitar playing, but I can slip into a "Lindsey mode" as well. Lindsey is one of my prime acoustic influences though. But as for favourite artist... That's probably goes to Lindsey since he's got the singing and production side, and I've been listening to Lindsey more recently. Both artists recent solo albums are 2 of my favourite albums ever though.
Overall I think Lindsey wins out by a small amount. Certainly, the songs I'm writing at the minute are much more Lindsey/Mac than they are Iommi/Sabbath.

Really I don't want to compare them since I love them both so much!

EDIT: Another reason Lindsey should tour Europe - I'd get to see both Lindsey and Tony Iommi (with Ronnia James Dio) in one year!! Oh, and Meat Loaf as well. To see all 3 of those guys in one year would be a dream come true.

I was almost 100% sure he was going to surprise us all and announce a UK / Euro visit.
I really wonder what the restrictions are, there must be a lot of red tape and manager intervention.
I hope in his Q&A he gives us a reason why he wasn't able to make it over.
Although he may well feel that the Rock album out early next year may have better material and he will tour here with that.
I think it would be extremely rude to ignore this many fans without even an explanation.
Hey maybe we could ring him and he'll give us 30 seconds of Big Love over the phone, im sure theres some way we could hook it up to a huge PA system.

Lindsey, please come to the UK! Rightly market yourself as the creative genius behind Rumours, and you'll sell out the smaller venues with no problems - Fleetwood Mac is big business here.

More importantly, some of your most avid fans are here too, the ones who enjoy your solo work.

If this isnt the ultimate petition, i dont know what is?

Lindsey is that wife of yours not begging you to take her round the beautiful European cities.

When I heard he had planned for 90 shows and now those 90 shows have been allocated. It seems like, as they say at warner brothers "Thats all folks"

Hovever there are two positive ways of looking at this.

1) Lindsey knows we want to see him over here and he's must have read this thread at some point. He has at no time confirmed that a euro tour was not on the cards. so maybe he's hopeful himself

2) It could be that the 90 announced dates were the planned U.S dates only. Theres every possibility there are other dates planned but they are just not part of the 90 U.S Dates.

If were gonna here anything it has to be from lindsey himself.
So if anyone reading this gets front row at any of the remaining last few US shows please ask him is europe a possibility. I want some closure on this

When I was gettin my guitar signed in Dublin at the FM Concert I asked would he ever ever come to Europe on a solo, and the answer was an absolutle and definate "No" absolutely "No Chance". It was all too small of an affair to take to Eurpoe and there was much to much red tape. whatever that means. I was a bit dissappointed at how certain the "No" actually was.
So sure in fact that is was a "NO" that had been probably once been considered as a possiblity but no more.

There was never ever one shread of evidence or a hint that he would visit Europe during GOS or UTS Touring and I see no difference this time round in 2011 with TNA

Bloody hell that's a bummer. Even if Fleetwood Mac tour the UK again I doubt they'd come here, and I don't have the money or the means to see them otherwise. Ah well, ob-la-di ob-la-da!

To me, the fact that his band is so small should make it easier to go to Europe, cheaper, not harder. I wonder why Mick got to go and Lindsey couldn't. I guess Mick has sponsors to carry the costs and Lindsey must not.

It would be more important for Mick or John to tour here since they started out in the UK and its sort of like a visit home for them when they tour. Lindsey on the other hand has no reason to come to Europe. None that I can think of anyway....OH WAIT, YEAH THATS RIGHT HIS FANS.

I could have sworn there was an interview from the Unleashed era in which Lindsey described London as being one of his favorite cities. I have no doubt in my mind that Lindsey would love to tour Europe. However, it is ultimately up to the promoters/nightclubs that would be willing to gamble on a healthy return for them. I suppose there are plenty of nightclubs that would love to host Lindsey, but I suspect that at this point in his life Lindsey probably feels that it's beneath him to do the club circuit, especially considering his huge following as a member of FM. He is older and has young children. Is it really worth traveling so far away from home just to make (or lose) a few Euros to promote an album that nobody there is going to buy anyway? I would be interested to know what his solo album sales are like in the Euro zone. I suspect we are probably talking about under 10,000 copies overall. Plus, as a U.S. citizen, he probably gets killed by taxes for working abroad.

I don't get that impression at all. He seems perfectly happy to play to small venues as a solo artists when he's used to enormous stadium venues with the Mac. He also comes across as very humble and down-to-earth when he speaks to his fans.

There is no denying that Lindsey plays small venues as a solo act. But they tend to be theatres with actual stages, seats and balconies. Accordingly the sound is better, the dressing rooms are nicer, etc. Nightclubs are invariably rat-infested basement dives with tiny stages, bad sound, filthy restrooms and reek of booze and vomit. He's no longer an aspirational solo artist. He has already accepted the fact that his solo work will never become hugely successful, so he is probably no longer willing to perform the drudgery typically carried on by new artists trying to hit the big time. He wants to play his music but he also wants to have fun and maintain an air of dignity while he is doing it.

Regarding the humble act... I'm not buying it for a minute. Yeah, he gets along well with his fans, but behind the scenes I'm sure he is every bit the haughty, insufferable diva that Stevie is purported to be. All one needs to see is the Destiny Rules documentary for evidence of this!

Of course Lindsey should come to Britain at least. There is a massive range of excellent smaller venues UK wide he could play. If the promotion was done right and the price was good there would no problem in filling these places out - it would be such good PR for his album over here, it's Lindsey we are talking about, he is amazing !!

Can't we bombard his management or the record company with emails in the hope that they might see how serious we all are? I remember seeing that Timothy B Schimdt did a solo tour over here last year, now i realise he may be a big deal with the eagles but solo in the UK? i'm sure if he can fill a venue so can Lindsey!

I think you're right that he likes the acoustics in those theatres, and he is also really into architecture, so I'm sure that's a plus, BUT some of my favorite bootleg recordings of his from UTS ( and GOS ) tour are definitely not in theatres...recordings from Milwaukee and Philly both have very rowdy audiences, in tight quarters, and Lindsey was clearly enjoying it :)

No, I don't think he's humble. When he holds or pats his heart and looks like he's so grateful for the applause, I know he's just hamming it up. However, I can't think of anything for him to be humble about, so it works for me.

He did play some lesser venues during the OOTC tour and I really think the bad experience scarred him about touring solo. I think he was actually surprised at how gratifying UTS was, based on his past.

With OOTC he had people eating, drinking, talking and paying little attention to him, except to heckle a "Where's Stevie," now and then. It's based on what happened then that I think he became more picky about where he would play 15 years later.

Yeah, I saw Lindsey on the OOTC tour... in a little club in Washington, DC (where, BTW, I believe I recorded the bootleg for this show that is in circulation [I still have the original DAT cartridge somewhere...]). It was a very rowdy, very enthusiastic crowd. But it was also a much younger, rowdier Lindsey! And he had 6 - 7 guitarists, two drummers... it was a crazy setup on this tiny little stage. And tickets were, like, $22 or something like that? He had to have lost some crazy coinage on that trek. I could see how that could have soured him on the nightclubs! Sixteen years later he traveled around the country in a mini-van with two musicians while playing theatres exclusively. Go figure!

Maybe it's just me taking things to heart, but maybe he just thinks he's better than Europe. He doesn't think we're worth the money when it's our money that's providing a vast chunk of his revenue. "Yeah. I'll have your money but I won't go out of my way for you. You spend more of your money to get to me and fill my pocket". Smooth, Lindsey. Really smooth.

This seems very likely. Lindsey likes to play the "starving artist" card, but there's no reason he can't go and play in Europe, other than it would cost him too much. I'm sure he could fill a place in London if he's worried about an empty venue.

Lindsey has a lot more money than the average solo artist trying to tour abroad but from what I understand, it really CAN be very difficult and expensive for American artists to play in Europe. Especially people like Lindsey where you could hope that he'd at least sell out shows in a few major cities but truth be told, he didn't come close to selling out most of the shows on the GOS tour in the States and there's no real evidence that the shows abroad would be any better, or even as well, attended. You could still say that because Lindsey has the money, he should go anyway and be willing to spend some of his money to give his fans there what they have been waiting for but I can see why he and his management are hesitant to do so if it would likely be at a total loss to him. I remember during the GOS tour, there were rumors that the shows were costing more than he was getting back and it would only be a higher percentage abroad unless he really was able to sell them out.

That said, I completely sympathize with you guys in Europe and hope something DOES work out. I am sure it is beyond frustration to be somewhere your favorite artist never comes.

With the bounce the band is getting from Glee (per NicksFix, Rumours and the songs from it are all charting overseas), as much as I would like to see Lindsey solo, he (and members of FM) would all be financially better off by touring as FM in Europe this summer. LB could sell his new CD on tour and play new songs from it, and then tour the US as a solo act in late fall. You have to strike while the iron is hot. The wheels are probably turning in Mick's head now.

I wonder how much Lindsey thinks about his looks. He seems to have more ego about his music and creativity than his looks, but, of course, we don't get to observe him enough to really know. The only thing that struck me as physical vanity was when he adjusted the crotch of his pants for the SYW shoot and when Javier pointed out that Lindsey wore contact lenses from early on.

Contacts are common now, but back then they were much rarer. They were only "hard" then and your eyes actually had to develop callouses before they could feel comfortable. So, the fact that Lindsey started wearing contacts that early on suggests to me that he just did not want to be seen in glasses.

Although we see Stevie in glasses in some candid shots, I don't think we've ever seen Lindsey in glasses, except for sun glasses. No reading spectacles.

Of course, I don't even own a pair of glasses and never have. I wear contacts all the time myself. At this point though, it's not vanity, so much as I'm just lazy and rather careless and I don't want to keep up with a pair of frames.

I think he used to care a lot more about his clothes and style - over the last 10 years I don't he's cared less about style!

Right now I really feel he needs to mix it up a little - his casual look is fine, just please add a few more pieces to the ultra small wardrobe currently in use!

He really suits aviator style sunglasses - would love to see what he looked like in regular glasses in this style.
