We all knew that Ebay was scummy, but here we go! I checked Ebay 5 minutes after she was declared deceased and there were 299 items. A few hours later, there are now 1078, Here are some highlights:

Jill found the first at death plus 8 minutes:

I just do not see the problem with people sellig commemorative items. I mean Anna herself sold the last photos of her son minutes before his death (which I also have no problem with because someone would have sold them had she not done so) -- So, she likely could care a less about the commemorative sales and likely would like her estate to be doing the same

I just find it interesting to see how people react so soon after an event. (like 911) I mean 8 minutes afterward? That's a fast reaction.

I know - that was strange to me as well. How about that guy who got like $500,000 for the, apparently, camera phone image of them hauling her apparently dead body from the hotel to the ambulance. A half a million for being in the right place at the right time despite the tragedy of her death.

Some German entity bought it. A friend of mine was like "that's disgusting" and I responded, if someone offered you a half of a million dollars for footage of someone who is dead and likely could care a less anyway you wouldn't do it - Then I explained that could educate her three kids all the way through college. She agreed when put that way.

Yep!!!

Or Marilyn

I just hope she is with her son and husband, who she seemed to have loved even if in her own way.

People in this country love to profit off the dead - Examples: The Titanic, Dale Earnhardt, 9/11 & now Anna Nicole Smith. Doesnt shock me anymore.

I'm not shocked, I saw this before on the day Dale Earnhardt died. I remember watching 1/64th diecast cars go from about $3 to about $60 in a couple of hours. My collections value skyrocketed due to a death according to some so-called 'collectors' (aka Spectulators), Sorry - It only increased in sentimental value.

For a laugh Deb & myself went to a local Wal-Mart on the day Dale Sr. died and the toy section containing diecasts was overcrowded with people either purchasing Dale Sr. items to keep as momentos or to sale on eBay. Didnt see a single child wanting an item in that section, just adults.

I kept my #3 cars (I even have pictures of the real thing I saw in the summer of 2000 - including the sunlight shot I took of the #3 glistening with sunlight of the setting sun), even when I was offered top $$$ for my collection of Dale Sr. cars I kept 'em, Why? Because I am a fan, Was before he died (I have a posted of Dale Sr. on the bedroom door that was purchased WAY before he died - Plus I have tons of Dale Sr. merchandise throughout the house) and I will continue to be a fan until I bite the dust.

edit: The glistening sunlight picture mention above (It is second from the top on the page) can be found on the following webpage I made way back in 2000:
