This is totally off the wall, but since I found out that Taku will be taking up with Janet Jackson's tour, I thought I'd ask the masses which drummer youd like to see take his place. This is totally for fun, so lets have some! Of course, some are "unavailable" but that never stopped us!

I voted TedDansonInAHat. But really, any old drummer will do, as long as he spontaneously combusts while onstage, like in Spinal Tap. That would be cool.

duh.....
BONZOGerald, there's only 10 options. I tried my best. Pick whomever youd like. I'm not that self-absorbed that I'm going to care if someone picks a drummer that's not on my list. Oh and for the record, I vote for Deanna.:xoxo:

Seriously, I think the drummer who could fit in perfectly is Eels-drummer Jonathan "Butch" Norton. He's an innovative, subtle drummer who cares about songs, not his ego, and he can rock hard too. Lindsey would like him I'm sure.

I'd have to say Rick Elliott or Scott Nordell.

Mick Fleetwood, even though he is busy in Hawaii or Las Vegas or wherever.

From the list I chose Russ Kunkel, but I think Jorge Bermudez would be good.

from Spinal Tap.
Of course that was Mick Fleetwood.
Btw, it's Neil Peart not Neal Pirt.
Of course, I would like to see how fast LB can play with Behemoth's Inferno as his drummer - Love to hear ISA played at 280 BPM w/blast beats

Patrick Hallahan (My Morning Jacket)?

What about Steve Feronne from The Heartbreakers or maybe even Kenny Aranof who has recently done tours with Melissa Etheridge and John Fogerty? I have seen the m both live and they are both pretty good drummers.

I saw Kenny Aronoff (with John Fogerty) a few months ago and I thought he was fantastic!

Didn't Kenny play on a few Stevie solo songs? I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm pretty sure he did.
I don't think of the traditional drummer when I think of a percussionist. Some percussionists probably hate playing with drumsticks; and I'm sure some drummers would feel like they were missing two limbs without them. So, to answer your question, I'd also have to say Bobbye Hall, only because I can't think of anyone else. Wait, what's Michael Escovedo up to these days? Sheila E?
LENNY CASTRO!! And that's my final answer.

Kenny has been on hundreds of albums, so he could well have done some Stevie stuff. He's a very versatile drummer and I'd like to see him play with Lindsey because then he'd have played with my two favourite guitarists :D . He was on Tony Iommi's (Black Sabbath) 2005 solo album Fused and IMO he's great on it. He was supposed to tour with him and Glenn Hughes but instead Tony did Ozzfest with Sabbath. Kenny's also done a lot for John Mellencamp, Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell 2 & 3, a few Alice Cooper albums and even a Hillary Duff album! The guy is one in demand drummer!

Neil Peart is one of my very favourite drummers. He can make a drum solo incredibly interesting, even to a non-drummer like myself. It's more like a song that just him going "look what I can do!" which most drummers tend to do and that just gets boring...

Kenny Aronoff is fantastic!! I saw him with Fogerty in '98. He's an animal. I'm excited to hear they are working together again!! :blob2:

After more thought...(and I'd still prefer my original two suggestions, but since most people don't know who the hell they are, here's a couple of reasonably well-known names):
Mickey Hart (ex-Grateful Dead)
Jim Keltner (renowned session drummer)

His name is Wally Reyes Jr. Thankyou.
I think a little pyrotechnics would add greatly to a Lindsey show, so I voted for Keith Moon. Sorry to dig up a year old thread, but I just thought that I should add that.

uhh could anyone imagine the awkwardness of don being the drummer.
"So uhh, you porked Stevie too eh?"
I had to go with Ted Danson in a hat. Where everybody knows your name.

Why are Wally and Taku missing from this list? I guess they're both on other tours? They were awesome...so if it's not either of them, then I guess Mick would be the next choice.
Russ Kunkle would be cool to see again, but is he even still around?

Did we even know Wally when this post was created in February 2007?Didn't his brother play percussion for Stevie on a tour or two? I remember a Reyes on an old Nicks tour.
Two other brothers played with Stevie, too: Rick & Gerry Marotta.
In a print interview in the '90s, Rick was asked about drumming for Stevie's tour in 1986. He said, "She's a dynamo. When she's ON, she's amazing. So much energy."

Steve Feronne was Christine's drummer on her Christine McVie album, and toured with her as well.

My vote goes to Chevy Chase! Believe it or not, Chevy played drums with the soon-to-be-famous Steely Dan in like 1971. Wouldn't it be cool to see them doing "Holiday Road" together? Then Paul Simon could come out and all three could join in "You Can Call Me Al". In between songs, Chevy could do stand-up comedy. I'm tellin' ya, the tour would be a HUGE success!

Let Walfredo Reyes continue what he started doing on "Love Runs Deeper", my personal choice for 1st single from the 2008 GOS album.
