According to the very reliable Nicksfix it is. Isn't that unusual though? Don't Stevie/FM tours generally start in the East? I live in the West and was kinda banking on having more time before tickets go on sale. (want my tax return to come first.;) )
Do you guys ever remember a tour starting in the West?

She's started a couple tours in Texas, and then hit both coasts.
I don't think it's all that unusual - although you're right, most tours (all artists) do start on the east coast.

Well, you have to keep in mind that the sheds around here don't open up for business until the week before Memorial Day. I have a feeling that they're gunnin' fer the sheds. :distress: Invariably this means Jones Beach (brrrrr  ) and PNC around these parts. If we're lucky they might hit Mohegan Sun and Atlantic City as well.
I have a feeling that Chris is going to pull in a much different audience than Don Henley- an audience that identifies with Stevie as more of a retro-hip musical icon than "that blonde chick from the 70's that used to be hot." I think they will be very respectful, if not enthusiastic about her show. It's just so odd that Chris and Stevie used to be at polar opposite ends of the spectrum genre-wise, and now their pendulums are swinging into each other.

I just saw on ticketmaster that Chris is playing 2 shows in mid-May (13th & 15th) in Calgary & Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I assume he'll start with Stevie after that.
See that, Theresa, some artists DO actually play Canada. :wavey:

Actually I should be happy if she's starting out here for once. As mentioned on another thread, maybe it'll be before she cuts songs from her list or before her voice gives out, gets bronchitis, etc. Hopefully, none of those things will happen though.
Good detective work on finding Chris doing Canada in mid-May, Paula. You're a smart chick.
Now it's obvious the Stevie/Chris gigs will start at the END of May, earliest.

I hope they aren't going to do sheds, but you're probably right.
There is hope though. For example, Justin Timberlake did 2 shows out here in San Diego - one at the House of Blues (a tiny venue), then another a month or so later at an ampitheatre. Maybe Stevie would consider mixing it up like that as well.

With only 20 dates scheduled with Chris Isaak I hope she doesn't skip San Diego. Or worse, play at the Sports Arena! I wish we had a decent mid size venue. Chris Isaak's show really is better suited for a more intimate setting, especially when he wears the suit made of mirrors. He usually plays at Humphreys (great 1000 seat venue on the water) or one of the casinos, but they would be too small for a Stevie crowd.

If they skip San Diego they'd probably do Orange County somewhere. That's not too far for us.
On a sidenote, Beachwood Mac, did you catch the 2 Charger hats being held up towards the end of Stand Back during the pregame? Priceless! I took a still-frame photo of it. :p I knew Stevie was a Charger fan!

I'm just hoping for an Austin gig, so I don't have to travel anywhere. Chris Isaak usually makes a stop in Austin, and if it's during the spring/summer, it's usually at The Backyard, which I LOVE, and have always wanted to see Stevie there. Max. capacity of that place is 5000, I believe.

I see a "Two Voices" format, too. But I like Chris Isaak's music. Forever Blue and Baja Sessions are great pop albums. I never thought they were polar opposites on the music genre spectrum. Chris channels Elvis more than Stevie, but they have strong pop sensibilities at their core. And Stevie will be doing mostly hits anyway, which appeals to the masses.

Ozzfest is starting on the west coast - and it's free this year. I just posted the article on chit-chat.

Yes, but it's Orange County, and no offense to ledgies who live there - I HATE THE OC!

I did and I'm still bitter at how our season ended. :( That should have been us there waving our hats.

I think the Eye Sack/Stevie is a good pairing. My aunt is a HUGE Eye Sack fan and also loves Stevie and very excited about this. His fans seem to be stoked also, from what I can read on the message boards.

 Ballsack - one of my favorite words, but unfortunately it brings me visions of old Billy Squier, Steve Perry and Robert Plant videos when they wore those super tight pants and their ballsacks were all squished against their legs. Yuk. Gross.

Back in 1990, when I had my own radio show, I interviewed Chris Isaak and Kenny his drummer on the air. We had a great time. Chris has a wonderful, funny personality and really is a sweetheart. He put on a great show as well.
Obviously Stevie likes him so I think that this is going to be a great match.
I'm excited. I want to see a couple of the shows...
