View Full Version : Angel
Hi all!
Does anyone know where I could find any live version of Angel ?
It's one of my favorite Stevie songs and I have only the Tusk studio version,
which is pretty great of course, but I would love to have another one !
Thanx a lot in advance!

I like the st. louis one because it's pretty close to the tusk doc (imo)
and it's not so much the lyrics, it's how forceful her voice is-especially the end....
I love the "i still look up..yeah... I TRY HARD not to look up"
:sorry: carrie....I just listened to HBO and I like st.louis more. the HBO seems less raw or something

as for the poor unloved highwayman, to each their own I suppose. Anyway, back on topic...I'm digging these live versions. The song wasn't really `00% in the studio, and it needed the live energy to kick it up. I really think they could do this again. Granted it'd be a completely different version, but if it was done right it could kick ass.

I was looking for a perfect way to describe how I felt about various "Live Angels", and here you have provided:
"Always makes me giggle like a virgin that just got felt up" :woohoo:
And I mean, I feel like that every time that same old live Angel (A few different ones) comes on my ishuffle. I actually walk down the street smiling and giggling and dancing. I'm so happy at those times I look like the fricking Dalai Lama. A dance walking Dalai Lama. So much inner peace and joy radiating out to the world. I could probably cure cancer with my super positive feelings about live Angels.
It's no coincidence that the song is named "Angel", as I am in heaven every time I hear it. Talkin' bout my. Of my dreams. I feel good. ISIFTYU. IKYW. WYWG. YWVVG.

Err. Sorry, I'm not as fond of St. Louis. There's hardly any sing along harmonies.
I'm digging on the Chicago 1980. Sloppy, but harmoneriffic. IMO, it's far superior to these others (aside from HBO)
There is so much Lindsey and Chris and Lindsey laughing in Chicago. Plz.
Not that those others don't have their moments...
Most kick ass moment of HBO. When everything stops, and they break it down with just drums. Ho****, I'm in love.
Edit: My favorite is Live In Cleveland

damn. my English degree...finally pays off.
Cool description! It actually is one of those songs that make you feel like that. And the beauty of it is that it's like that every single time it 's on my mp3player shuffle.
But what I love about that song is the way Stevie described it on the Tusc doc - how it makes her feel like an old dance hall girl - and the way she dances to it .
Before seeing that, the song didn't make much sense to me.
Now I feel like I can explain every single line of the song. Even though I know it's not possible.

OMG rarely do I "Hate" a Stevie song...I may dislike a song but not hate. But I seriously cannot listen to THM. It is the only song on "Bella Donna" I NEVER warmed up to.
