Just so that you know, the biggest masterpiece of alltime "Rumours" is in the picture on radio 2, one of the best stations in the Netherlands.
See,..http://www.radio2.nl/page/schijven
Listen?? http://www.radio2.nl/page/live# and click LUISTER HIER. Maybe be at that particular time you hear some Rumours.
For all dedicated ledgies, every end of each year there is a TOP 2000, The heighst position is GYOW, on 94 (77 in 2005). This year i should be better, we all should vote to get Mac back. Eagles and queen fans are doing the same, do we have a deal??

I was surprised, since that song usually doesn't get played on the radio. I've heard it only once before, long time ago. Radio 2 does rule though.

this year, by the time I thought about it, I couldn't find the online voting booth anywhere.. guess I was too late.

I like to play Fm more in the record store (i work at free record shop), actualy my boss is totaly into lindsey Buckingham at the moment and tries to play stephanie and never going back again at his guitar (i'm one of the few who can't play guitar at work :( I have one but i can only jam on it a bit )
but my other coleagues only dig the older stuff and so its fleetwood mac greatest hits (sony) they only play. i try to sneak in some rumours or very best of occasionally but these guys are hard to please.
Not much of a radio listener in general still coll tey focused on this great album.

Ps we could found the FM dutch connection and meet once every year. After all, we did have a fanclub in the late 70's 'till mid 80's.
If i remembered well that was a girl named Debby ( catdancer) and a Karin.
something like the Stevie fanclub used to do? Went to a few meetings organised by the ladies of Affairs of the Heart, know them? Was fun :)

A Dutch FM connection.... why not?
I used to be a member of the Stevie Fanclub around '88-'91, it had a fanzine called 'the Welsh Witch' (all by a girl called Debby). It was in this period that I 'discovered' FM and Stevie (was around 15 years old then) and became a member of the SN fanclub and the international FM fanclub :blob2: . Have never been to a meeting or so.. maybe they weren't held then any longer:shrug:
So, what was that like??? Meeting up with other fans in the old days??
The meetings I went to were in 1994 or 1995, I think.
Still got a big pile of fanzines from that time, but I don't know "The Welsh Witch". I've got.. Affairs Of The Heart, Crystal (Irish FM fanmag) and the last few copies of Frozen Love (Buckingham Nicks fanzine). Pre-internet days, that's the way FM fans met :D
the meetings were great! I remember one guy organised a party in a pub once, somewhere in Brabant. We had a Stevie impersonator, some kind of Mac karaoke I think, and people selling memorabilia.
Another meeting was a saturday organised by the ladies of AOTH (one of them Johanna Pieterman, people might know her from her drawings), lots of people turned up for that. Exchanging memorabilia, playing a mac quiz show (I remember I won a Stevie-coffeemug, still have it), just having fun, really.
A get-together would be fun (even if I'm not that big a fm fan anymore, must confess!)

Unfortunatly not, but the idea meeting once a year, exchange stuff and more is atractive. With the old and young ones, just one day of a year. Only talk about FM, and listen to it,....???
I'm convinced, who else.

Maybe opening an weblog, in Dutch?

Yes, two girls: Debbie Droog and Jackie... I forgot. They were from The Hague, I think.
I was member of the FM fan club from about 1980 to... 1988?
Somewhere, I have all the magazines from the fan club (I never throw anything away apart from trash). But, Fleetwood Mac wasn't very active from 1982-1987.

Hee Gerald, what about playing covers of Rumours, like Dougal Reed?:woohoo:
And I have a few other covers from Mac songs elsewhere (Patron Saints)

I remember the names Debbie and Jackie from the Stevie fanclub as well (the Welsh Witch). I have never met any other FM or Stevie fans in the Netherlands (apart from chatting with people at concerts...:p )

For a start: I like the name Dutchain
Just out of curiosity: when was the last time that you (Dutch) went to a FM concert (or any other member's concerts) in the Netherlands or nearby?? Mine was a loooooong time ago, in 1990 (Behind the Mask) in Germany. At the end of the concert they announced that Stevie and Christine weren't going to continue with FM....
I almost went to a US concert of the Mac in 2004 on the East Coast during my travels there, but in the end couldn't plan my trip around it, unfortunately...:(

i've never seen the mac in holland
seen them 3 times now and al were shaows from the say you will tour (the first in newcastle '03 en the last 3 in California '04)
btw love the name Dutchain aswell ingenious ;)
Fleetwood Mac: 1994 in Leiden (or was it 95? err.. anyway, with Dave Mason & Bekka Bramlett)
Peter Green & Splinter Group: 1996 Utrecht
Fleetwood Mac: 2003 in London (best one)
Almost went to the 1990 concert in Utrecht, but was on vacation with parents in France at that date. God I hated them for that, haha! But I was a bit young to travel back just for a concert, back then (15).
Also saw Fleetwood Bac a few years ago, *somewhere*... a very small village of which I don't remember the name. But I do remember they were great.
Dutchain? Hmm.. don't know. Can't come up with something else myself, though.

First time Ahoy Rotterdam 1900, Nieuw galgenwaard in Utrecht 1990, last Oberhausen 2003. As older ledgie 1980 the first time was legendary.

My first Mac-concert was in 1988 in Rotterdam.
Then Stevie in Ahoy' in 1989
Mac in Utrecht (Mask)in 1990
Then the band with Bekka and Dave in 1994 in Leiden
Then Mac in Oberhausen during the SYW-tour.
Overigens heb ik de nodige webspace en wil wel een Nederlands forum hosten als daar behoefte aan is.
