I have no idea. This press release was sent to me from Warner Music UK, so it's completely official. I would imagine the European release date would be the same.

I also have no clue what happened to If You Ever Did Believe. I think it's a shame if it's not on there, but the video does include clips from Practical Magic so perhaps they removed it to avoid any complications concerning that. Or perhaps it's just not on the UK version, I don't know.

Here's the full press release I received:

Stevie Nicks Reflections:The Very Best Of Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks will release Reflections...The Very Best Of on March 26th on Warner Bros. Records. Reflections is the definitive Stevie Nicks compilation and comes packaged with the first DVD retrospective of her work.

The CD spans Stevie's solo career from the Billboard #1 debut Bella Donna (1981) through to 2001's Trouble in Shangri-La with hits such as Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (with Tom Petty), Leather And Lace (with Don Henley) and Stand Back. Her Fleetwood Mac career is represented with the original version of Silver Springs, a Deep Dish remix of Dreams and a live version of Rhiannon. The album also includes two special live performances alongside the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in the shape of Landslide and Edge Of Seventeen.

The accompanying DVD features videos for thirteen of Stevie's best-loved songs culminating with Sorcerer (on which Sheryl Crow guests). Each video has the option of playing a voice-over commentary whilst other bonus material includes rare home video footage shot during the Bella Donna sessions, interviews and artwork.

I think it is for sure. Shame the Leather And Lace performance isn't on there either. But maybe they're holding that back for when they release the CBS concert on DVD. I hope so anyway!

I think this tracklisting is pretty good, but I wish If You Ever Did Believe was on there as well a live performance of Leather and Lace with Don as that would be cool. Still the fact that all of her videos are now officially available is great.

Maybe this is what Sheryl Crow was referring to when she told someone that Stevie was busy working in the studio- she was recording the narratives for her videos.

I just wonder how one narrates performance videos like "Blue Denim" or "Whole Lotta Trouble," etc. There really isn't a story to tell.

Otherwise, this DVD sounds like exactly the sort of thing we have all been waiting for. In fact, I think the DVD could have been released separately and drummed up lots of sales on its own.

Now what would have really been amazing is if Stevie was able/willing to obtain the rights/recordings to any Fritz or live Buckingham Nicks recordings. Or an expanded version featuring a bonus disc of alternate takes/demos of the songs featured on the CD (just like the expanded Rumours or Tusk reissues). I mean, how many takes of "Edge of Seventeen" are out there? Like 25 or more?

Cool.

I'm still a bit puzzled about B&tB being left off though. I know it was never a single, but it's really a signature tune of hers, esp. live and esp. since 5/05. Bummer about IYEDB, but hey, I guess we can't have it all. The rest (Civil War Stand Back, the BD home video footage, live R&R) makes up for it for the most part.

Thanks so much for posting that, Sharon! :xoxo:

Aside from my one minor quibble (two versions of "Edge"!), I'm thoroughly pleased with the tracklisting for the CD, and I never in a million years would have ever thought we'd see an official DVD release of the "Edge Of Seventeen" video and the original version of the "Stand Back" video. So this is going to be really terrific.

(Not to be a "Debbie Downer," but I wonder what the chances are that "Edge" actually isn't the production video, but the live performance from the 1981 'In Concert' video?)

As far as the omission of "If You Ever Did Believe," as you pointed out earlier, Sharon, they may have had to leave it off because of rights issues with the 'Practical Magic' footage. There were a couple of videos left off of Chris Isaak's recent CD/DVD collection because they included clips from movies ("Graduation Day" contained clips from 'Beautiful Girls,' and "Two Hearts" featured clips from 'True Romance')... so that's probably the case here as well.

The Civil War video finally sees official release on a DVD, 'bout damn time.

Too bad the video for "Insider" didnt make this compilation...but of course that is more for a TP comp than a SN comp.

Yes indeed, it's always proper netiquette to post the source of your information instead of saying things like "this was taken from that OTHER board", without even including a link, let alone even mentioning the name of the website. If the information is not a news article and is from a private source, it should always include a link back to the original source of the information. For example, when the track listing for "Reflections" was leaked out on Seven Wonders several days ago, a link was not posted back to the original source of the information, which was taken from this thread on Seven Wonders:

http://www.sevenwondersonline.net/index.php/topic,10428.0.html

"thank you for stating the obvious", implying that others (who shall remain nameless) do not always practice the obvious (meaning posting links to sources of information) on many occasions. It seems the obvious tends to be overlooked at times, so I was thanking her for stating what should be obvious to most people - That when you post information on a message board that is not your own, which you took from another site, that it is proper internet etiquette to name the site and post the link to that source.

This is one of the reasons why I don't post here anymore. There seems to be a serious lack of respect towards me and my board, which seems to have continued on a regular basis. Not all the time, but I have read things here and there in various threads in the Stevie forum & in the Chit Chat forum. You think it's not classy for me to defend what's right and give credit where credit is due? Fine. I also think it's not classy to constantly refer to Seven Wonders as "that other board" or to borrow things from Seven Wonders and not post where it's from. The same as I would anyone else that would take something from The Ledge and post it on Seven Wonders or wherever and not say where it's from. It's tacky. Say where the information is from. Is that so difficult?

I find it silly to contact the mods here regarding something that doesn't really affect anyone. I simply thanked trackaghost for pointing out something which is not always practiced on this board. Then suddenly, my words were twisted and used against me for some odd reason.

I agree, we are all fans with the same common objective. That's why I can't quite understand why common courtesy and mutual respect cannot be shown toward me and my board by certain members. I've never once come on here to say a word to anyone in regards to certain comments that have been made or what have you. All of my posts here have been Stevie-related. Even up until recently. This is the first time I have ever said a word on any of this here, but just know that I have been watching and reading for awhile, biting my lip and finally felt I needed to say what was on my mind.

I can see the contempt you have towards me from your post (for some unknown reason), but rest assured, I won't be posting here beyond this thread. I've contributed alot to this board in the past and hardly ever had a conflict with anyone. I have always been respectful, I have always been courteous, and I have always tried to do the right thing. I have also monetarily contributed to this site in the past, which as a moderator here, I'm sure you can appreciate. But yeah, I should "get over myself" for standing up for proper internet etiquette. Ok. Anyway I simply wanted to state my opinion on this issue and now I have done so. I have nothing more to say here...

I'd be really surpised if the amatuerish Edge video of a really thin Stevie running around with a doll is the one on the DVD.The Scarlett version of Stand Back however costed 85k to make ,not chump change for a video in 1983 so I'm glad it is being made available on DVD .It kind of signals a nice change form the conservative and pedestrianly rote choices made by the La Nicks camp as of late.

by the way, I also find it interesting that all these years we've been calling the alternate Stand Back the "Civil War" version only to find out Stevie calls it the "Scarlett" version.

similar to how we always titled Candlebright as Nomad.

not that we'd ever have any way of knowing what it was actually called in Stevie's mind...

Yes, in Stevie's mind, "Storms" is "Always Been a Storm", and "How Still My Love" is "Still of the Night", etc.

I bet to Stevie, that Stand Back video is the "Well. . . I Have Dreamed of Dixie. . . as All the Gypsies Have" version.

There was a Tom Petty documentary on MTV years back that featured footage of Tom teaching Stevie how to sing Stop Draggin'... and then them recording it. It looked very similar to a lot of the footage in the SIAB video.

I do remember seeing this one too. I think Stevie was wearing glasses and she was still afflicted with the "tusk poodle" perm. The "falling down" scene in the Bitch video appears to be a Wild Heart session. Just like you can tell the age of a tree by its rings, you can tell the age of a Stevie video by her hair.

I can see the contempt you have towards me from your post (for some unknown reason), but rest assured, I won't be posting here beyond this thread.

Actually you wouldn't know this but up until now, I've been one of your biggest defenders. I made a point in our private forum to suggest to the other mods that any type of inter board fighting be shut down immediately. As I've told you on your very own board, I think it fills a unique niche that was created when Burnish and SaraRhiannon went away. If you have a problem with people saying "that other board" it could be handled most diplomatically by asking us as mods to help you out with that. I think we're pretty receptive. But don't come on here and tell the members of this board how they should be posting. It's poor form. Again, the DVD tracklist is not exclusive. Someone was kind enough to share the information with you. It was in turn shared here and probably elsewhere. It's not like you own the information. Why would you object to it being posted elsewhere? We are all fans with a common objective. Then again, I don't know, maybe you have your own agenda?
And as far as people posting negative things about other boards or not giving credit where it's due, I've seen the same thing happen on your site and I've never seen you step up to the plate and put a stop to it.

Maybe it's just me, but I find all of this drama to be rather silly. As you said, we are not exactly posting proprietary information on these boards, or creating what can be considered "intellectual property." Secondhand information is secondhand information- nobody here or there pays for it or owns it. And people post on these boards to share information and ideas freely and willingly in the spirit of being a "community." If people want to "own" the information they post, they need to start their own pay service and work with a copyright attorney.

To try and draw battle lines over such nothingness is divisive, petty and self-serving. Nobody is impressed.

I'd be really surpised if the amatuerish Edge video of a really thin Stevie running around with a doll is the one on the DVD.There are two different edits of the "Edge" video floating around. The second -- my favorite version -- doesn't feature any of the scenes of Stevie with the doll or Christopher.

It's possible there are still other edits/revisions that we haven't seen, so I'm very curious to see exactly what it is we'll be getting.

Of course, it would be much better if it's released beyond just North America and Europe.

Yes, the treadmill is cheesy, but the Civil War version doesn't have nearly enough close ups of Stevie's face looking intense and gorgeous. Also, she is over ly clothed in the civil war version. I like it, though. I like both of them.

B: "the guys'll be going insane!!"

I think it was Greg Parrish (where's David O. when I need him?) who was quoted in that 'Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Stevie Nicks' book that Ethlie Ann Vare wrote back in the '80s, as saying that the record company suggested it would be better to have "a dance video for a dance song," and Stevie agreed -- so that's why the first version was scrapped. He also said that Stevie was (I'm paraphrasing) "unfairly accused of vanity there, when that wasn't the case at all."

This is one of the reasons why I don't post here anymore.

Really? I thought it was because you know that you stole the ENTIRE Stevie BLA from the Penguin site. I

It is also my understanding that you stole your discography from the Nicksfix and another SN site.

Thousands of hours went into the original trasncription of those articles, before there were scanners and using the old Penguin software that required that each entry be formatted. When new software was purchased for the BLA, the moderators spent hundreds of hours transferring everything over. There are also quite a few audio interviews that were transcribed by Ledgies for the BLA, it was all stolen with the swipe of a mouse by you.

No other site in the community built their site off the back of the Penguin the way you did. Every fan site owner I have known over the years took tremendous personal pride in building their site from the ground up and spent hundreds of hours entering information that they could have easily just taken from the Penguin. The only site I ever knew that stole their information from the Penguin was the official FM site when Jonathan Todd lifted the discography, including all the album covers that Marty scanned himself.

Over the last few months, many news items about Lindsey's tour have been posted on Seven Wonders and never a peep from you asking for proper credit. One of his members even took fan reviews from the Lindsey Ledge and posted them on Seven Wonders - without crediting the people who wrote them or the Ledge - they just said "another site."

This message has been paraphrased from a number of private messages sent to me by members of The Ledge. For obvious reasons, I won't use their names.

Also, I myself noticed and even commented to you on this board that your FAQ's/rules looked hauntingly familiar to those of The Ledge.

This conversation between you and I ended 3 days ago, but I guess you figured you would try to capitalize on the "let's bash Brian" bandwagon, eh? I expected more from you quite honestly, especially since you're a moderator here.

You have the audacity to accuse me of stealing information, when you have absolutely zero proof whatsoever of any of this. I realize these are desperate times, but my goodness, talk about tacky. All the information listed that was borrowed from other sites was credited. All you have to do is read the fine print and you will see for yourself.

Are you for real? Do you honestly think these articles are exclusive to The Ledge? Excuse me honey, but these articles are public information that are easily obtained through Google alerts. If you didn't know that, then consider yourself informed. Anyone can subscribe to receive email alerts on Stevie, Fleetwood Mac, and yes, even Lindsey Buckingham. Ask Livia, she'll tell you. I have never and would never steal a single thing from this board. There is absolutely no reason to. You go ahead and you check dates as to when articles were posted on Seven Wonders vs. when they were posted on The Ledge. 50% of the time they were posted here first, 50% of the time they were posted there first. It's simply a matter of when certain people get to their computers and check their email alerts.

Let me also point out to you that Seven Wonders had the track listing for Stevie's upcoming CD first. Seven Wonders had the updated information when the title was changed first. Not to mention numerous other recent "firsts" when it comes to posting articles, news, etc. I should know, since I have personally posted quite a few of them. Trust me, I hardly ever even read this board anymore, let alone would bother to steal your precious information. We have our own sources at Seven Wonders. Thanks.

It is incredibly tacky for you to accuse me or the members of my board of stealing information, especially since, as I pointed out, we have posted the information first on numerous occasions, before The Ledge.

You are a moderator. A representative of this board. For you to show such disrespect to another board that shares similar interests looks very bad on you. Not me. I have done nothing wrong here. I have always carried myself with respect and have never ever stooped so low as you just did. I have never said a single negative word about this board, its members, its moderators, or how its run. It's tacky and it's low and anyone that would stoop so low should be ashamed of themselves.

I bowed out of this conversation several days ago because it is pointless to argue over such a trivial issue. I wanted to get my comments out there and basically just say my piece. I did that. I thought the conversation had ended. Hell, I even let you have the last word. Yet for some unknown reason, you decided to re-quote me, only to continue a debate that ended several days ago. Why would you do that?

You claim to be my "biggest defender". Well, dear, if you're my biggest defender, then I would hate to hear what my "biggest offender" would have to say. Furthermore, why would I need defending? What have I ever done to cause such hate amongst you people?

Honestly, I really don't care. I run a very successful Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks community - dare I say, one of the the most active, if not THE most.

I suppose there's a little bit of animosity over that. Understood. But really, show some class. There are alot of silent witnesses who read this board who don't agree with this kind of behavior. You're a moderator - set an example for Christ's sake.

On Edit:

In regards to the accusations of "stealing", it's quite a double standard you have there. What you're implying is that it's ok for certain members of The Ledge to take private information that was given to the members of Seven Wonders (such as the track listing for the upcoming CD) and post it here without giving credit, but it's not ok to include public information like old news articles on another site that might have been obtained from The Penguin.

So why is it ok to take information from one site (Seven Wonders) and post it on The Ledge without giving credit, yet it's not ok to list articles on another site that also happened to be listed on The Penguin? (news articles are considered public information, so no single fan site can claim ownership of them).

Several people on here including yourself have commented that all of this information (news, articles, etc) should be easily accessible to the fans and where it comes from and who takes credit for it shouldn't really matter. Yet in the same breath you have the nerve to accuse me of "stealing" public information that all fans should have access to. Right.

I'm not sure when and where all of this animosity sprung up between certain members of The Ledge and Seven Wonders, but it needs to stop.
We're not "rival factions." We should be able to co-exist with little to no problems whatsoever. I certainly hope no one is "threatened" by Seven Wonders. There's no need to be. The Ledge hasn't been "the only game in town" for years -- there have been several message boards (BuckinghamNicks.net, FleetwoodMac-UK, FMLegacy) that have existed right alongside ours, and none of that has ever negatively affected the relevancy of The Ledge.

I haven't checked out the main site for Seven Wonders, but if past magazine and newspaper articles were borrowed from The Penguin, hopefully credit is given to those who transcribed them all those many years ago and contributed them to The Penguin. A large number of them were typed out by hand, at a time when the majority of PC users didn't own a scanner.
There's nothing wrong with archiving them on another site, but they should be credited.

As far as I can tell, there's never really been "netiquette" when it comes to crediting people who share rumours and unsubstantiated information. I have read posts that start out with "I heard/read this on another site," on every single message board I've ever visited -- and I'm talking non-Mac boards here.

I'm not saying that makes it right, but I guess saying that gypsyboi77879707xx heard from his sister's boyfriend's cousin who works for Warner Bros.... yadda-yadda-yadda... doesn't really lend any more credence to a bit of unofficial info than simply saying "I heard this somewhere."

However, if people are saying "I read this on another site," only because of some rivalry, then that's just silly and petty.

There's nothing wrong with saying where you heard something, but we do ask that you not link to threads, etc., posted on other message boards.

If there are people here (and obviously there are) who don't care for the Seven Wonders board and/or the people who post there, so be it -- but keep it to yourself. Catty jokes about other fans... many of whom also post on and/or visit The Ledge... are best kept to private conversations.
Marty, myself, and the rest of the moderators do not want a repeat of the two skirmishes that happened several years ago, between posters here and posters on the message boards at Burnish.net and FleetwoodMac.com.

This isn't high school, so let's not act like it is.

Thank you.

Although I think Seven Wonders should have been given credit, how can something posted on a public messageboard be called "private information"?

"Private information" meaning the person disclosed information that he received from a private source (which he did - to the members of Seven Wonders only). "Public information" meaning the person would be disclosing information that he or she obtained from an official source (news articles, press releases, official websites, etc).

Yes, private information becomes public once it's posted on a public message board. However, at that point, there was nothing official put out there regarding this upcoming release. The only info that was out there at the time was the private info that was posted on Seven Wonders.

Nothing compares to getting some new songs.

Debateable. Lots of people would rather she just tour. I mean just how many people get up and take a leak or get a drink when a "new song" gets played in concert? Lots. Many people are not interested in new material from classic artists. They want to hear the standards. Personally I'd like to have it all. New music, touring, FM, solo, etc. These days I just take what I can get from Stevie, and appreciate it. Thank God she's not one of those artists featured on "Where Are They Now", or making appearances on reality tv. :distress: She's still a very viable artist, who can make an impression and have an impact on people without releasing new music.

Anyway, thank you for sharing this new information you received today and thank you for stating the obvious when it comes to proper internet etiquette.

Yawn. You know I've posted stuff on here before and even in the post requested credit for those involved (it wasn't for me at the time but some Aussie fans) to then see it posted on seven wonders with zero credit. So it works both ways.

Anyway... thanks Sharon for posting this info

LOL! And people on your board have never said anything about the ledge??
