View Full Version : Oh man, How Much Bad Luck With Girls Can A Guy Have????? A Little Help Please!!!

So, all of you all know that I have ZERO luck with girls. I am shy on the approach but they all say they "love me".

Anyway, I met this girl a couple of weeks ago at her vocal lesson. She was really nice, and when I complimented her on her voice, she would always smile and thank me very sweetly. She seemed to like it.

So I found her on MYSPACE and we started talking. She was very supportive of my back surgery and all. I was hoping I would run into her at school, but no such luck. This being said, I was thinking that it would be awkward seeing her again in "real life" after talking to her online.......

A couple of days later, we had a choral concert. I was in the lobby just chillin' and she walks around the corner and sees me. She seemed really happy to see me. We talked awhile and talked about how I wrote songs and she was telling me that I MUST record my songs and give them to her.........

I talked to her a couple of times on MYSPACE after that but since a few days ago, I haven't heard from her AND NOW it says that she is "in a relationship". I know I didn't know her very well, but we really seemed to get along well and I was hoping that we would be seeing more of each other. But I guess not...... What should I do. It is just SOOO frustrating.:distress:

Much Love,
Ethan

I get that she changed her my space from "single" to "in a relationship"? (Sorry, I am old and never used my space). I think that is your answer - added to the silence. Save yourself some frustration and move on. She gave you her answer with her actions. If she was really interested, you would know. :sorry:

Was she supposed to consult you before getting into a relationship? You can still be friends with her... can't you?

Well, I understand what you are saying, but it had been so hard for me to get over the other girl that I was hoping that she would at least keep me from "going back again"....... Oh well

We have all been there. (I know that doesn't help much). And I might not be the right one to respond (I gave up years ago). I think that when the right one comes along, you will know it. Just don't let what happened in the past spoil your future. Remember they are the ones that missed out. And it is their loss, not yours. So, here is a fluff pic, as I get off the old soapbox. :D

Ha ha, thanks that's really cute. And I know they are the ones missing out because I am going to make something great out of myself and they are going to be missing out, but for the meantime, there's a bit of pain. At least it helps write AMAZING music, and my novel is coming along FANTASTICLLY!!!!

*zing!*

I agree with the general sentiment going on over here.. you just met her. It's not like you were going out for a while, and that you talked things out, blah blah blah. She's allowed to make the decision to go out with someone.. it's not like you made a commitment, or anything like that.

& besides, it's ****ing MySpace. If you're taking that site seriously, then come on, dude. It's the internet. Get real.

Just because a girl is friendly and chatty with you doesn't mean she wants to date you. If she is such a nice person then you will have to be happy to be friends with her

sorry, but FORGET FRIENDSHIPS! If you give em the "friend" vibe then thats what they'll think of you as. (BELIEVE ME) and stop bieng so nice, when girls get a glimpse of "inner jerk" I know you got in you. THATS when they'll respond. THEN you can be nice, and they'll think "oh hes so wonderful, hes bieng nice JUST FOR ME. TRUST ME DUDE, ITS THE TRUTH.

I AM SO SORRY FOR EVER POSTING THIS. I AM SO SAD AND UPSET RIGht now. I just meant to not be soo much as a friend that the girl you like just treats you like a door mat, and only ever thinks of you as a friend. You know the heartfelt and genuine enthusiasm that leads you to start so many threads? Well, if you approach a girl with that same fervor (even friendly, and complementary fervor) I think most girls would be a little apprehensive and overwhelmed.
I know it is hard to rein that in when you are excited about someone you meet, but just take a breath, and throw more of the energy into your music and novel. There will be someone whose enthusiasm matches yours, I don't think you will have to wonder, but you might have to wait.

Ok, calm down. First, I have NEVER called any girl or woman "dude". That was to ethan. Second, I am not encouraging anyone to as you so politley put it "F" with peoples heads. and PLEASE try to remember that the only thing that you know about me at all is that I like stevie nicks. before you start making assumptions about my character, slinging personal insults, or making threats. And you are right that I do not know nearly as much about women as you do, because I am not one. but seriously, I am not a jerk. and you dont know me. But do you know what? I am "THE FRIEND". The friend who is allways there and supportive, and then ends up alone. I am the guy that the girls complain about their boyfriends to. I am the guy who goes to pick up the girl that he cares about at 2am, because shes stranded and upset, and her jerk boyfriends to drunk to care. I am the guy who still opens and holds the doors for a woman when she is entering a room or a building. I even bring flowers when you are down, and actually listen when you talk. and when I compliment and say that their hair looks nice after it is just cut all I ever hear is "are you gay?" I have spent many years having girls that I have felt love for tell me that Im, "the greatest friend" and "just like a brother" and "you'll find someone some day" (meaning someone else). but believe me, I am a good guy and you ndont know me. This is not Dr. Phill save a relationship advice! Ethan is a teenager. and I do know teenagers. I work with Jr. High students at the school that I work at. and Im sorry, but teenage girls tend to like the bad boy. Now, im only 25 so yeah, I got alot to learn, but I have been "the friend" and alone for FAR TOO LONG. and I was just saying that If you put the im your friend vibe out there, that is what she will think of you as.

In the end, most women like a guy who is a little bad and most guys like a girl with a little mystery. It is just the way of the world for most humans - intellecutal/heady discussions aside, we are all rather wired that way

don't put on airs for girls you like . . . be yourself and they will see how you are in life and how you are with them and will admire and like the contrast . . . = also good advice in my opinion - but this advice was tossed in a big ole salad with some humor and a dash or two of snide . . . just for fun - again in my opinion -

- and you quoted gldst's statement and that kinda personalized it so i think she took it as a shot accross her bow - (and what a pretty bow it is - did you see the picture thread?) when you were really not meaning it that way-
we all have "THE INNER JERK" - {"my little demon coming on down . "anyone?> > > we all have ongoing inner fights going on . . . }
it seems phoenix is saying don't wait til you are married to allow someone to see the WHOLE person that also includes an "inner jerk" - let them see the real you - good and bad -

You know the heartfelt and genuine enthusiasm that leads you to start so many threads? Well, if you approach a girl with that same fervor (even friendly, and complementary fervor) I think most girls would be a little apprehensive and overwhelmed.

I really am so sorry. I never should have posted. I'm sitting here crying thinking that people out ther have a wrong opinion of who i am and what im like. i just have been if the nice guys finish last rut for some time, and am frustrated. i am so upset about this.i do not believe that women should be degrated or put down in anyway. no one should. i am really sorry if that is how that got interpreted. i only wanted to tell him not to be soo much of a friend, that thats all she ever thinks of you as. i'm sorry.

hey bud - relax -
i don't think anyone feels that way about you -
there was some back and forth and you defended yourself against those charges . . . but certainly nothing you should be letting get you so down . . .

i think there was some internets misunderstandings . . .
thats it . . .
typed words just don't have inflection etc . . .that can make the meanin so different

:xoxo i certainly can't speak for everyone but relax - i doubt anyone thinks you are a bad person

wrong opinion of who i am and what im like. Phoenix...you are not the first person to mention your thoughts on being "a friend"...in fact I am sure there was discussion of the matter on the "friendtrap" on some reality show last night...I wouldn't think one would gather a negative impression from you from one single post. You have explained your feelings and what you meant...I wouldn't worry/cry on it...ok?

Maybe you sweet, good, strong, reliable guys are attracted to, or friends with, the wrong kind of girls too!

I know it maybe takes some maturity but! Once I was out of my dumb adolescent years -- good, kind, reliable and trustworthy and friendly, good to animals, children, humanity as a whole, etc. guys were the only kinds I dated and eventually, married.

We, the women that value and appreciate you, ARE out there!!
