The Best Of Stevie
Updated 04:22 PST Mon, Jan 22 2007
Rock legend Stevie Nicks has been pretty quiet since touring Australia and New Zealand last year except for a handful of appearances with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
Now, she's is readying a new greatest hits album for release in the spring and has recently announced a few dates for February and March. The songbird also has a summer tour in the works.
Nicks will kick things off February 4 with a pre-Super Bowl performance at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. Then she's scheduled for a pair of South Florida dates - February 6 at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood and February 9 at the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa.
Next up is a stint filling in for Celine Dion at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on March 20, 21, 23 and 24. Tickets for the South Florida shows and the Vegas shows are currently on sale.
Nicks' plans for the summer include a full scale tour of the U.S. - her first since 2005 - with Chris Isaak in May and June. Dates for the tour are expected to be announced in the near future.

These concert "bundling" things bug me. They put Stevie and Chris together so they can play bigger arenas like the sheds. Instead, Stevie could do a tour of more intimate theaters to promote this CD?
Sorry, I haven't complained in a long time. I just hate those damn sheds and I know that's where these shows are going to be.

Hi. Welcome to the ledge!:wavey: I thought the same thing about that chris guy for a long time too. THEN I saw him at the Arizona heart bennefit with her.(it was the one with the acustic gypsy. 99?2000?) Anyway, he was a riot. more importantly, the two of them together was really a fun pairing. He brings out a sort of playfullness to her that is really nice to see. She was saying to him "PLEESE DO NOT TELL THOSE DIRTY JOKES! MY PARENTS ARE HERE!!!" and he said something to the efect of "i have to leave in a little bt of filth for the people in the cheap seats, like rows one and two!" or something like that, it was great. yeah, his songs are just ok, imho, but stevie needs and deserves to be around FUN people. I dont want suppresed subdued stevie, I want the stevie we saw at the tom petty shows!:blob2:

Meh, anything beats Henley I guess. Though, Henley's stuff is better than Chris Isaak's.
I think this is more proof that Stevie just can't (or wants to) do solo anymore. 2005 was supposed to be with Henley, in 2006 she tours with Tom Petty and now in 2007 she's going to share the bill with Chris Isaak. She's taking it easy, which I really can't fault her for. :xoxo:

You hate them? Try living on the coast of Texas. By May, it'll already be 90 degrees at 9pm at night. And Stevie always manages to hit Houston around the first of August, when it's still 100 degrees when she hits the stage.
I was so looking forward to a cool, breezy spring tour.

In many ways she is a far larger star than he is and he should be opening for her  Moreover, their music seemingly targets vastly different markets as she is rock and roll and he is more rock a billy -- but they both get/got AAC airplay, though his was 16 years ago. It is an odd match to say the least.

That's more than I can say for any other guy she's been onstage with for the last twenty years or so. I also think they have some genuine chemistry together. She flirts with him a little too, and at least that isn't staged.

The one thing that the article doesn't mention is whether there are new tracks on the compilation or not, which is what would have been interesting to know.
Touring with Chris Isaak probably might have something to do that both Steve and Isaak have had their most recent albums produced by John Shanks.
I like some of Isaak's late 80s/early 90s material. He did become a bit boring for my taste when he began covering Roy Orbison tunes on his albums, because these originals just can't be beat, at least not by Chris Isaak whose vocal style sometimes seems like that of a singer of an Orbison tribute band.
To get in the mood for 1/2 a concert, here's some recommended listening: try out Heart Shaped World and San Franciso Daze. :D

Absolutely. I have seen Chris Isaak a couple of times- both times as the opening act for solo female singers- Tina Turner and Bonnie Raitt, namely. I have no reason to believe this will be any different.
That being said, I would LOVE to see a "Two Voices" tour with Isaak, especially if they ripped through "Solitary Man" and "It's Late" or even "Are You Mine" . Say what you will about touring with Don Henley, but at least we were treated to some "new" and different songs for her to sing. Sure beats her same ol', same ol' set-in-stone setlist.

Chris is a showman, and his concerts are uptempo and fun. They also border on vaudeville (for lack of a better description) when he gets into banter with his band.
It's such a shame that his only big hit was "Wicked Game", as that defines him in many people's mind and they think they're going to get 90 minutes of that tempo and mood. Just like non-Stevie fans think they're going to get 90 minutes of "Landslide"...

Wow...i'm impressed that the Nicksfix actually released info in a timely manner! After reading the official word on her site, i am pretty sure, IMHO, Stevie is releasing a "Best Of" album instead of an album with all-new material because the DVD will have footage of her tour which was a greatest hits tour of several legs (duh!), and a CD release of all-new material with a DVD release of The Gold Dust Tour would make no sense.

I think a new ledgism has been born.
I wonder what Curtie would think of that?
Lemme see...being Curtious could be defined as
a) Doing the Gold and Braid dance with Paula
b) Tossing props during said dance at innocent bystanders (Carrie in particular)
c) Not only buying, but WEARING the Lucky Charms hoodie.

I have no words for this one.....

I find it interesting that she is releasing a Best Of Cd when she has not had a bona fide hit since The Dance and that was with FM - Rooms on Fire and MAYBE MLWCYM as far as solo goes  Don't get me wrong, I think it is cool that she doing something and hopefully, there will be a new track on it - but it will be a reissue of Timespace and The Divine one.

So, there is going to be two cds and a DVD?
Maybe a Greatest Hits along with a "best of live" CD?

Didn't they do "Solitary Man" together at an AHI benefit? I'd like to see that!
Yes, and it was fan****ingtastic. They must do it again. I'm also thinking they could do a great Highwayman.
Makes the song pointless. Like I've said before, the recent versions of that song are all sex and no orgasm. Just thinking about it makes my nuts ache.
I want to have your babies.

Come on folks, what else would fall under the umbrella of being Curtious?
Naturally, the fourth pillar of Curtiousness is loving Street Angel.
Bingo. And as an addendum, saying "I love Street Angel" to Stevie herself during Edge handshake is also very Curtious.
And for the record, the Lucky Charms shirt is a plain white T.
BTW - I'm excited about Stevie & Chris touring together. He does seem to bring out the playful side in her. Of course, there's no chance in hell that they'll come here (stupid Darien Lake.... ) so I'll be hoping for Cleveland, Pittburgh or Toronto.

I am SICK of the co-headliner bill.
I had to suffer through Henley, wasn't that enough???
Oh I completely agree. I must have misunderstood. I thought that he was maybe going to be the opener.......... Hmmmmm this is actually very dissapointing.:distress:

Here it is in white. It looked different on the Bella Donna cover. Stevie must of had it altered.

Stevie Nicks will reportedly tour and release a greatest hits album later this spring. We believe this will rock.

Yes, 10 Minutes of Chris and 90 of Stevie; That would be a nice balance.
