LB in Austin, TX

Hey folks,

I'm a newbie - first post even - but I'm a long-time LB and FM fan. Going to my first Lindsey show on Thursday and am pretty pumped up about it.

Just thought I'd post to pop my cherry and see if any others on here are attending the show. I just wish I wouldn't have dragged my feet as badly as I did and got better seats, but I guess 18th row ain't the worst, especially in a nice intimate theatre like the Hogg Auditorium.

From what I've read/heard, I'm completely cool with the format of these shows and the tune selection (minus my dream list) - I am hopeful for yet not expecting any set surprises.

Anyway, bash or welcome me! :]

Even better news, I just upgraded my tix to Row E, seats 5-7 on the Left Side!!!!!! AWWWW YEAH!

EDIT: To say that, yes, i did see the chronny article - even saw it here first! Well done. Also, FWIW, I guess I could add that I've used the Penguin as a reference for many moons, but just never joined the board. I'm glad I have now!

Being a mod had nothing to do w/ it. I get no love or perks for that. :p I sound like Rodney Dangerfield...I just got online the second tix went onsale - fast internet connection and fast fingers!

So, now you're just a few rows behind me and Bruce. Have you ever been to Hogg before? I haven't - do they serve booze? Or just beer and wine like the Erwin Center? Or anything? Camera nazis? I'm surprised he's not playing at the Paramount instead. :shrug: Oh well, I just hope it sounds good.

Loris is playing the live version of "I'm So Afraid." :D I never hear this on the radio.

Okay, that was the question to win tickets - what was the name of the song? Some idiot guessed "My Little Demon," and then someone named Bill (!) got it right and won! It rang and rang when I called, Loris finally answered and said they had a winner. Wonder what kind of seats those were?

thanks for the welcomes and yes, Livia, that "Bill" was me! I still need to go pick up the tix at the station so I don't know where they are located, but I am hoping for the best. She said she didn't know but that there's not a bad seat in the house. Hmmmmm.

I have been to Hogg, and it's an awesome sounding room from what I remember, and pretty small (1200 I think) - should be nice for an intimate show. I believe they serve liquor and beer/wine - best to have a pre-party methinks just so you won't be disappointed. Hogg is not far from the Hole in the Wall on Guadalupe (as you probably know) - walking distance, in fact. As far as cameras, I'd be wary - maybe hide them and most definitely no flash.

Man, so far, this just keeps getting better and better!

absolutely, the more the merrier! I will see if I can get my girl and I down there to pre-party this sucker. I may even try to get there earlier. And usually, I would be up for post-show shenanigans as well, but I have an important work meeting at 7:30 a.m. the next morning, and would prefer to not be drooling.

Also, picked up my tix today that I won on the radio - center, row 2! HELL YEAH! My buddies will probably reap the benefits of my 7th row tix and i've already sold the Row S ones - this is working out pretty good!:thumbsup:

I already have 2nd row, remember? :D I'm one of the lucky ones who has played his guitar during GYOW, a few times. I don't need to be looking up his nostrils to have a good time at every show. :p Sometimes, that's just TOO much to handle. My heart can't take it. :laugh:

I was hoping to upgrade another Ledgie or sell 'em at face value to either my boss, or a friend of mine who really wants to go, but doesn't want crappy seats. She's gonna try to win the KGSR tickets in the morning.

I did not - while I was having a mini-nervous breakdown at work, and holed up in a co-worker's office to vent, I missed the Blue Plate. And when Loris did the 2-for-2 thing, I was too busy working to pay attention to the songs she was playing. Some guy named Mike won that, he said he'd been trying all week for some LB tix, so good for him!

Tomorrow can't get here fast enough - after today, I'm more than ready for a cocktail! :p
