I use it daily and have great skin. To be fair, my skin was good before it. I also LOVE Lancome's new facial product, but, it is $225 for the jar.

I started using it about three years ago (the moisturizing cream) and had to stop a few months ago because I couldn't afford to buy a new batch. I have to say my skin has really taken a downturn after that. After Stevie in March I'm going to order a new jar and start again. It's magnificent stuff.

I know...I had good skin before, thank god, but I love it. Do you actually use the creme de la mer morning and night? I just started doing that.
I watched some stuff about philosophy skincare and it looked good, I might try that. I need to get a weekly peel and intesive treatment program too, but not sure who has the best.

oh, I'm not sure. it's just a random pic. I have 1 oz and have used it since about Sept/Oct of last year and still have at least half a jar left. a little goes a long way. I also have the eye balm and the lip balm, which both also go a long way.

Well Jazzy, I use a lot of the products, some of which I am out of right now. About four times a year, Neiman's does a gift with purchase (you can do it online if you don't have a store near you) and they'll kick down with some pretty nice swag.
If I'm not wearing any makeup, I won't go outside without the SPF 18 Fluid. I also use the Miracle Broth cream every other night. The firming serum that comes in the little bottle with the eye dropper is magnficent for around the eyes after a late night. It feels really good when you put it on. I've also used the cleasing lotion (too heavy for me) and the cleansing gel (nice). I've heard that the eye balm is fab so I'm going to try that with my next La Mer run.
Oh yeah, now that Jazzy mentioned it, I have used the lip balm. It has a nice minty flavor to it.

it does a lot. I'd say it helps even out the texture of your skin, hydrates very well and smooths out fine lines and wrinkles. it also gives your skin a nice, glowy look - if your skin looks sallow or dull, this would work wonders.

You might want to get a sample of the La Mer cleasning lotion. I've used the Philososphy bath products because my daughter likes the smell of them but that's about it.
Also O don't know if you've ever tried Lancome Bi Facil eye makeup remover but that stuff will remove just about anything without drying even waterproof mascara.

I used La Mer for about a month - the moisturizer cream and the eye balm - and I developed tiny little bumps around my eyes. My dermatologist told me to stop using the new products. I did and the bumps went away. I really loved the texture of the eye cream, though.
Now, I am a devoted Kiehl's fanatic. I swear by their products.

I use Lumene from CVS. I don't think expensive creams work better but they make you feel like they do cuz you spent so much damn money on them! ;) If I had a bit of extra money though I would probably buy Creme de la Mer to see for myself. Lumene works really well and my skin definitely is in much better shape since I started using their night cream. I think the important thing is to use a good night cream and wear sunscreen during the day. The sunscreen is the most important thing! I've been doing that for nearly 12 years and I am sure it has made all the difference.

I've tried La Mer and didn't like it. I thought it was too greasy and thick... it felt like I was smearing Crisco on my face. It's also outrageously expensive... there are other Estee Lauder brands (and drugstore brands) that are probably just as good and a lot less expensive.
I only use Paula's Choice products on my skin... they work amazingly well and they're reasonably priced. It sounds like a cliche, but my skin has never looked better and I've tried just about every brand out there. All of her products are fragrance free and formulated to be non irritating. I would totally do an infomercial for them!
Check out the website... there's also a lot of good information and reviews.

oh, and i've recently fallen in love with bare minerals by bare escentuals. in terms of makeup, all i do now is use that, throw on a bit of mascara and my lipgloss and i am good to go. a little pricey but no more than the other high end lines. i'd definitely recommend that – my skin has been amazing.

I thought it looked too unnatural at first, but that's only because I'd never worn tinted stuff before, but this doesn't look bad. And if it looks okay on my pale as snow skin, it should be okay for yours... I use "Sunlight", which is, I think, the lightest shade available. Their tea tree oil moisturizer is good, too!

I don't use an eye makeup remover - 'cause I don't like to pull on the skin around my eyes. Whatever gentle face wash I'm using at the time is enough to get off non-waterproof mascara.

This doesn't work for me. Although if I was lazy and didn't take off my mascara before washing my face I can get the excess off with moisturizer. My lashes are really long so there's a lot of mascara there. I probably could go without but I like the dramatic look!

You smoke??? I am so shocked by that. I always thought of you as uber healthy.
La Mer is great. The consistency is heavy though and takes some getting used to for some folks. I definitely can't wear it during the day because I can't wear it under makeup. It's too heavy. It's best at night. Plus men naturally exfoliate their facial skin when they shave. It keeps it much younger looking.

The travel gift looks good too - 4 or 5 different products.
I buy a lot of L'Occitane on ebay for much cheaper than retail. However, they do have great sales in the stores and online, and it will be nice to have a store to go to, so I can smell stuff before I buy it.

I was just wondering if anyone had ever used Patricia Wexler, philosophy, SkinCeuticals or IS Clinical?
I've been using Wexler's pink serum and it's awesome. her microdermabrasion kit is also amazing...as is her universal cleanser. I wouldn't recommend the eye cream.
I've been using philosophy's purity, hope in a tube and when hope is not enough spf and I love all of it.
I've heard a lot of good things about SkinCeuticals and IS Clinical.
as a sidenote, I just ordered a La Mer lot which includes almost everything in their line. I should have it early next week. I'm am beyond excited. mother worked hard to pay for it.

can anyone recommend a good toner with glycolic and/or hyaluronic acid?
what's the difference, btw? I heard one was good for younger skin and one for older, damaged skin.

SkinCeuticals makes some nice products - the salon where I get my facials done uses and sells their stuff. The Vitamin C serum and the daily moisturizer - Ultimate UV Defense with 30 spf are nice. When I get home tonight, I'll look at the flyer they gave me for the eye cream that is flying off the shelves. They're supposed to call me when they get re-stocked. I don't think it's SkinCeuticals though, some other brand.

I haven't used any Philosophy products except some bath wash, which was very nice. I've heard good things about Hope in a Jar.

yep. that's how I felt about it too. I thought it was a bit syrupy actually.
and believe everything you hear about hope in a jar. it is unreal how good it is. it does go kinda fast though. I went through a small, trial-size jar in about a week.

sweet. I may have to try some of this IS Clinical stuff.
I have wondered about the Hope In A Jar, do they offer more hope in a bucket? I want a lot of Hope! LOL.
Seriously, I would like to try, where can you buy, besides online, Macys, or ??

yeah, tell me about it. you can buy at Sephora or sephora.com, through their website philosophy.com, qvc.com or on ebay.com
the only reason I don't use it as my daytime moisturizer is because it doesn't have an spf and I like all-in-one products so I use their when hope is not enough, which is supposed to be like hope in a jar, but with spf. and it's great. a little bit heavier than I like, but still keeps my face really moisturized and protected. I also love Pure Simplicity's Milk Thistle moisturizer with spf from Bath and Body Works.
Well, you know YOU look so awesome and your skin is fabulous, so I will listen to your Beauty tips ANYTIME!
I need to get some of these. I am using Victoria Principle Principle's Secret, and it is really good, but I love trying new goodies!
More excuse to spend money on things I don't "need" is always good,....LOL.

and btw, my mother swears by Principle Secret. has used it since I can remember. she's 46 and her skin looks just as good as it ever did. and she was a sun worshiper while I was growing up. now, she's like me and avoids to sun.

I just bought Hope in a tube and I really like it. I had a sample of Murad intensive wrinkle reducer and I absolutely LOVED it. It was light, not too heavy and made my skin feel great. However, the regular size is 1 oz. for $150.00. I figured I would try a few things before I bought it. I'm thinking about trying La Mer. Do they give samples to see if you like before you buy?
Jaz, what La Mer products do you recommend for starting out with their line?

they do have samples, but I think they only give samples of other products at your purchase of some La Mer product. does that make sense? like, you have to be buying something to get a sample of some other product in their line. at least, that's been my experience. your retailer may just give you samples. if you're just trying it out I'd suggest you start with the Creme De La Mer. that's the staple. if you don't like it, you probably won't like the line. people either love it or hate it and think it's a waste of money. eBay may be your best bet to get a small "try me" size if your retailer doesn't give out samples.

I'm really disappointed with every eye cream I have...even La Mer isn't really doing anything. I'm not seeing any difference. I'm just overwhelmed with reviews and recommendations. I just need a good eye cream, why does that have to be so difficult? lol.

Have you tried the Kiehl's Cryste Marine eye cream? I love it. I alternate between that and the Kiehl's Avacado Eye Treatment. Both are really fabulous nightime eye creams. I swear by them. For a daytime eye cream, I use their new Eye Alert eye treatment. It's perfect for daytime and it truly combats any puffiness I might have from partying the night before.

no, I haven't, but they just opened a Kiehl's in the mall so I may need to stop by. I don't normally have to swat away puffiness, it's the laugh lines I want to work on. do you find that Kiehl's works on fine lines?
here's something I've wondered for a while. for the past 1.5 yr I've been wearing my glasses to work every day since I have to stare at the computer all day long and contacts just don't cut it for that. do glasses increase/enhance dark circles and/or fine lines around the eye area? it sure seems like my eyes have gone to **** in the past year and I was just wondering...

Kiehl's tends to imply that the Cryste Marine eye cream is for "mature" skin, so I'm thinking that laugh lines would be one it's main targets. I use it because I like the thinkness of the product and I dont want to get any lines.
Right now, I don't have any lines on my face. Seriously. I will be 43 in November and I could easily pass for 32. Genes have a lot to do with it, but I also take very good care of my skin. I drink water all day long as well.
I have no clue about the effect that glasses have on the skin around your eyes but that's an excellent question for a dermatologist.

A friend of a friend of a friend of mine works for Unilever (that makes all kinds of personal products like Dove Soap, Ponds creams, Vaseline, etc.), and his area of focus is scoping out the competitor products in all price ranges. Surprisingly, he has come to the conclusion that the best products are made by Avon! In particular, he swears by Avon's microdermabrasion kits ($12) and their SPF moisturizers.
Also, there has been this hullabaloo in NYC over the Boots Restore and Renew (No 7) serum (http://bootsus.bri-global.com/main.asp?cid=33&sid=22&iid=191). An article in a legit British medical journal documents a "real scientific" study in which it was found to be the only product that really worked at diminishing wrinkles. Accordingly, it has been sold out everywhere in town, and every time there is a new shipment, there are lines that stretch around the block to buy it. And the shizz is only $21.99 for a 1 ounce tube. I believe it's now only sold at CVS, but Target may start carrying it once they have ramped up production to meet the demand... Anyway, I'm dying to get my hands on some of this stuff...

Kiehl's avocado eye cream is awesome! I'm not crazy about the cryste marine, I like their abyssine one better than the marine.
That Boots renew serum sounds awesome. Bruce just turned me on to the Kiehl's over-night revitalizing, somethin' or other peel. I like it so far - I use it every other night.
Jazzy - the salon products I mentioned - I've only been given tiny tubes of samples, or they've used 'em on me during a facial. So, I can't really comment on the long-term use of any of 'em. I just know that everyone's been raving about the Youth Complex.

I'm 27 and I think I could pass for early 20s. I get carded all the time and I don't necessarily have lines. I guess I'm just OCD. I've taken really good care of my skin since I was 16...you know, sunscreen every day and all that, but I never really paid attention to the skin around my eyes before last year and I have noticed a change in my skin. I just want to be proactive I guess.
