I'm finally home from work. I caught a few arrivals here and there. I'm excited to see all the dresses now that I can sit down and watch it.

I love Meryl Streep also. Yes.

I don't just LOVE Meryl Streep...I ADORE her! Everything she does...FABULOUS! She's not just a Hollywood actress, but she's a MOM (first and foremost! She brought her daughter tonight...) and she doesn't spend her free time trying to get attention...NEVER DID! AND HER SPEECH...I'm verklimpt! She makes a fantastic point about these big theatre chains...they NEVER have these awesome movies and I have to wait to either rent them OR see them on cable. BRAVO Meryl! :]

Adrian IS a total hottie! I love when Meryl wins, she gives the best speeches!

What the hell is his problem? Can't accept an award for a cartoony? I bet he accepted the money for it...Do you think it is because he's shy?

Crap, Zach Braff didn't win...and po' boy sure has been depressed lately! He needed the win badly! Alec Baldwin is an ass...he is making my "Jawga" girl Kim Basinger out to be such a witch in the press over their custody battle! :distress: I don't think he even mentioned his daughter in his speech...or did I miss it?

Ya'll she's just STRANGE! I met her backstage on the Rosie O'Donnell show in 1998 and it looks like she hasn't changed a bit! Just look at the interview she did that reflected badly on Madonna...now she's back-tracking and saying she was misquoted...I think NOT.

I thought Beyonce' looked great. I'm so glad J.Hud won. why wasn't Anne Hathaway nominated? Meryl is fabulous always. Ugly Betty rocks. Helen Mirren is gorgeous. Reese looked really, REALLY thin. J.Lo looked good. Cameron Diaz looked like a corpse. and it's a good thing Warren Beatty's lines are usually written for him.

all in all...really good the first hour. snoozefest after that.

Cool. I mean, cool and sad. of course. Whoa! Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep shouldn't really be allowed at these things. They will always give the best performance. They should be like those kids who get such high marks that the teacher leaves their scores off when setting the grading curve. Like, "automatic A - award"

I'm confused. Do y'all watch Ugly Betty? I've seen a bit of it, and it wasn't funny. If I watch a whole episode, will it be funny? Am I missing out? I do have to say, it was very touching how proud and excited Selma Hayak and America Ferrara were cause it won.

Some episodes of Ugly Betty are better than others. Any episode where ya see a lot of Betty's nephew, Justin, is gonna be hilarious. He's like Jack, Jr. from Will & Grace - and steals every scene he's in.

I was happy America Ferrara won!

It's okay. I didn't see the part where America won in the thread, but doesn't matter. I'm not one of those people who is like "don't tell me, don't tell me!" In fact, it gives me a leg up with movie plots, b/c for some reason I rarely know what is going on as much as I should when i watch a movie. I get distracted by the acting and forget to follow the plot. So, spoilers are my friend, for the most part.

Drew and Hugh? Is that who she presented with? I've already...oh, HUGH GRANT! yes, they do have a good rapport. They're both so charming, though, they could rapport with almost anyone. :p Seriously, I've heard they are both incredibly nice, especially Drew.

oooo, black lady from Grey's anatomy - her dress - gold, sparkly....so gorgeous!

aaaand Helen Mirren wins best actress. Suprise, suprise. I'm telling y'all (as I watch by my fricking self, mad face) those two should not be allowed in awards shows. They should be given lifetime awards in perpetuity, for excellence forever in all acting realms, and then we can move on. It will also help in another way - like say someone wins over Meryl or Helen - everyone is usually thinking "oh, nuh uh, everyone knows Helen/Meryl's performace was really the best!". If those two were taken out, the person who won wouldn't have to have won over Helen or Meryl and still try to pretend they are the best. See?

I was so bored by last night. The highlights were Ugly Betty/America Ferrara, all of the wins for Dreamgirls, Prince getting his deserved applause, and Beyonce's million dollar fake ass smile. Loved J-Lo and Drew's outfits, and Salma was rockin' the white. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Oh, and Hugh Laurie's speech was cracking me up.

Everything else was a snoozer. The walking corpses (oh yes Cam, I'm talkin to you) the long winded speeches, etc. I hope the Oscars are a little less predictable and a little more fun. The Globes have gone tragically downhill since Dick Clark quit running it.

Oh, and why the hell was there 3-4 shots of Rene "lemon sucker" Zellweger in every segment of the show? Her face bugs me, and I had to look at it all night.:distress:

Some thoughts:

-Loved Meryl's speech....my favorite of the night.

-Has Reese Withersoon ever looked hotter?

-Tom Hanks is getting more annoying by the day. And I wish he'd drop that awful hairdo.

-Beatty was rambling, but I still love him.

-Is it me, or is Annette Benning drunk at every awards show?

-Sharon Stone can still work it.

-Loved how excited the Ugly Betty people were when they won....very genuine. America Ferrerra's win was nice.

Her eyes. I think she had an eye lift. Why?! I thought she was perfect as she was.

I didn't watch the show itself, only the arrivals on TV Guide channel & E!

Did anyone catch Joan Rivers' intro on the TVG show? The no-panties thing? ROTFLMAO! I love that woman & her self deprecation.

I thought America & Love Hewitt looked great. J-Lo & Angelina too. Eva Longoria is never a fave of mine, but she was this time - that navy dress with turquoise stone trim? Stunning. Beyonce & Jessia Biel looked hot, amazing bodies, but I'm not a big fan of all-glitter dresses. Too 1980's Dynasty.

I honest to God did NOT recognize Felicity. Creepy. Loved the color of her dress, though. Teri Hatcher looks like a skeleton.

I hated all the white dresses. :sorry: Except Patricia Arquette's, which I loved. Usual faves of mine (esp. Salma Hayek) looked drab to me. Kyra Sedgewick, for the love of Pete, PLEASE wear a dress that's a color. Please. The last few awards shows she's been in white, gray, beige, etc. I love her, but ick. Annette Benning's dress was a big rectangle.

Heigl outshone Pompeo, as per usual. Where the hell was Oh? The Grey's boys looked very handsome.
