Dear Lindsey,
Quite a few of us Ledgies will be traveling long distance to see you in Vegas on either Friday or Saturday or both nights. Please do us a favor and change up your set list a bit. I would like to hear ‘Slow Dancing” and something from ‘OOTC”, too.
Thanks, Pattie D. from Rhode Island. ;)
OK, guys what would you like to hear Lindsey do? I know that this is really a long shot but I am bored. Humor me.:D

Probably not gonna happen Pattie...but hey, good luck with that. Here's an idea...stop spending cash on the shows that you've seen 10 times!

Maybe, he will come over there. Yeah, right doubt it. He is more likely to tour every city in CA first.

I don't know, I can't see him playing anything from OOTC. He seems to have something against it these days. But perhaps, he will find at least 1 song from it he'd enjoy doing live. :)

While waiting for the Mt. Clemens show (October 22, suburb of Detroit), I heard them rehearsing "All My Sorrows" before the show. Someone in line for the show (with very nice cleavage) stated that Lindsey was scheduled for a private radio show the next day in Chicago. I wonder if they played it there?

Are you going to Vegas?
Okay, Pattie!
I'm supporting this thread. And I like your LB collage!!
Not that I'm complaining about the set list....BUT...If he's taking requests for Saturday's Vegas show, I'd like to hear COUNTDOWN....and if not, I'll take any other song from Out Of The Cradle.
Rock on, LB, rock on! :blob1:

A Ledgie have your "back" ladies & gentleman, is what makes this a wonderful world.
Pattie, you are too kind, and I didn't wanna say anything, but come b-day time...all concerts aside, I may need your offer. bwahahahahah.
IN all reality though... a place I am seldom familiar with....the setlist is wonderful...it's just that Lindsey comes out so less often that, a rehash of the first leg seems unjust. His catalog is so rich w/ gems....all plausible to be done live...seems a waste to do the same thing. I get that rehearsing your band and/or having them do things on the spot is trying but.....still, an additional song from days of yore would be fab.
For you Vegas-goers who don't already know, it's been COLD in Vegas. I looked it up and it showed a high of 42 degrees for today. Okay, I'm from California, so I'm not used to 42 degrees whether it be in California OR Vegas. It's been unusually cold here in California, so just wanted to let you know 'cuz I know you're probably thinking more about Lindsey than the Vegas weather. Keep warm, guys!
Carry on Friday and Saturday! :]

Okay, here's my story about a rock star commenting on a post left on a message board....
Back in 2001, I discovered an unofficial Billy Joel message board the very night after I went to see Billy Joel in concert. During the concert, Billy made a comment about someone posting on the internet about what kind of unmentionables he wore. I couldn't exactly understand everything he said. Some of it sounded like jibberish, but I had no idea that the next day, when I discovered this message board, Billy was referring to a girl who visited that message board and started a topic about Billy's underwear! After following the comments on the topic and finding out the girl who'd started the thread was IN the audience that night, it dawned on me Billy was talking about this message board that I had just discovered. I'm pretty sure Billy didn't stumble upon the website or thread, but I know at the time, his drummer DID frequent this particular message board and I believe that's how Billy heard about his underwear being discussed on the internet. One never knows.....
"Oh I'm watin' on the countdown". ;)

He did do a private radio show in Chicago....
Here's the vid for one of the tunes he sang.
Lindsey Buckingham performs "Never Going Back Again" in front of a small group of XRT VIP's at Schubas in Chicago on 10/23/06

Who the frick cares what type of underwear people wear? I'll never understand that.
Yes, it's supposed to be in the low 50's or so in Vegas, so I'm gonna dress in layers. It's FREEZING here in North Texas right now, but will be in the 50's later in the week. Thank goodness Vegas wasn't this past weekend or I'd have been stuck.
I was REALLY hoping he'd change at least a few songs. :( That's one of the reasons I'm not going to New Orleans now.

That's correct, lbfan and Macman, he did play a private show in Chicago and I was there (along with Bree, who was my guest). He was interviewed by Lin Brehmer of WXRT (Chicago's Finest Rock) and played about five songs, all acoustic, him by himself. The five songs were "Never Going Back Again," "Big Love," "Down on Rodeo," "Go Insane (complete w/ the poem thing he always does to precede it)", and "Not too Late."
No "All My Sorrows" to be found, . It was a great show though and I felt very fortunate to have been there! :o

You know, I don't think he's gearing this show toward fans who've seen it multiple times (and I absolutely include myself in that group). And, keeping that in mind, I think he's not doing the same old, same old. Hell, a few months ago we were all applauding him for going out on a limb and doing requests at all and now, after only really a few months or touring, we need him to shake things up again? I just think it's a trifle unrealistic and unfair. As a fun fantasy thing, yes. It's fun to imagine stuff he might sing but the reality is a whole other story.
Jeez. He's got an album to plug and I think he's smart enough to know what to play for folks who will only see him once and are expecting certain "standards."
I'd love to hear him do a few songs live that I haven't heard before but...I'm not about to accuse him of lack of guts or creativity if he doesn't.

Wow - couldn't have said it better! An artist isn't playing to the people who choose to see them multiple times - especially if they have new material to promote!

Whoa...for real??? I was outside at Mt Clemens too and didn't hear that at all... He did indeed play a private show in Chicago the following day, adn I was lucky enough to be at it (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)...nope, no All My Sorrows. Down On Rodeo was the only change-up.
As for what I'd like to hear Lindsey do? I've already voiced my opinion on this to Brett, who agreed with me whole-heartedly LOL... TURN IT ON!!! He won't do it, but meh...I don't care...keep the setlist the same, change it, whatever...just keep touring, Linds. Truthfully, I get the feeling he's really just doing whatever pleases him, he's waited a long time to do this and personally? I think he has every right to do whatever he wants to do. I could never get bored of the setlist, to be honest, because to me, it's just an honor he's doing any of this at all. (However, that does not mean that I wouldn't fall over and die--quite happily--if Turn It On were played. ;) )

I "get" what you mean - but I'm not sure that Dead fans would have stopped showing up even if the set lists weren't so diverse - that was what I meant!
Diehard fans would always like to see things mixed up more - we just don't always make up the majority of the audience........

Well, you guys may hear "all my sorrows" in rehearsals b/c it has a lotta vocals and might be a great soundcheck tune? Just a thought.
And in order to keep this thread controversial, I personally don't believe that OOTC or GI have aged as well as LAO, a point I'm sure even Lindsey would disagree with. But the production on GI seems to be over-the-top in "studio trickery" of the time, and a wee bit of the same could be said of OOTC. But all of those songs performed in today's format (read, live) would be an improvement IMO.
That being said, I'd love to hear a Shadow of the West or I'll Tell You Now.
And I'm loving the current setlist! (but i've never seen him, which will be remedied 1.25.07!)

I am with you 100% on the aging of L&O point, esp. vs. GI. OOTC doesn't have a feeling of dated production values to my ear, though. I guess because I don't compare it to other albums of that time. Yes, OOTC songs would be brilliant live with his sound today, I think.
Some days, I live for Shadow of the West & I'll Tell You Now. No joke. Two of my all-time favorites. The parts... the vocals.. they're like super smooth butter that I just want to drown in. (Although, on second thought, I wouldn't particularly like to drown in butter. But you get what I mean.)
