View Full Version : Questions for previous Vegas-goers

I know there is a general Vegas thread, but I have some very specific questions for those who have gone before. I've nearly made the decision to go, so I need a little help from the experts!

Has anyone found a decent, but less expensive hotel near Caesar's?

What seating sections meet our superfan standards? How far away is the stage from the front row? Are the side-most front sections pretty far away?

Were the audience members any more snooty than usual about people in front of them standing (since I figure many of them are not fans per-se, but simply travelers who thought "it'd be fun to go see Stevie Nicks")?

How crazy is the ticket purchasing competition at on-sale time? Is it a little more mellow (due to the same reason mentioned above)? (Of course, I expect fellow Ledgie competition........) Obviously Friday, followed by Thursday, will be hotter dates than the other two.

Any other tips you care to share would be great. I've travelled for shows before, but this will be my first Caesar Nicks experience!

Thanks!

:wavey:Ok as far as the hotel situation goes, I mentioned that I stay at the motel6 by the MGM. That may be to far for you, but It's a nice comfortable place, and When I checked rates for 3 nights around that time, it was like $145 for the 3 night tax included. Caesers is right in the middle of the strip so it's probably not going to be easy to find something cheap really near there, but you can always check priceline and stuff like that. GOod Luck!

The Imperial Palace is right across the street. It runs about $60 a night or less, depending on the night. It's clean, has good service, and perfect location. I recommend it.

Orch4 is the best. The aisle seats in 3 and 5 are perfect for Edge Rush potential, as well.

This past Decemeber, a lot of people stood up. Last August, very few did. I guess it depends on if the high rollers are in for the show, or not.

Play the waiting game. It works. If good tickets pop up early, grab them, but I usually wait.

Curtis pretty much answered everything. Having now been in the venue, I will only buy in Secs 3,4, or 5...and even 3 and 5 the seats will have to be close to the inside aisle.

The experience with the December show was that the best seats popped up a couple of weeks after they went on sale. I don't expect to buy anything on Friday. And then Curtis got front row center a week before the show?

I am not finding good hotel rates...even IP is close to $150/night.

The Flamingo is also right across the street, with nice clean rooms. They run anywhere from $69 - $150 per night. We actually saw the huge Stevie billboard from our room in 2005. :D

If you want to Edge rush, avoid the sections farthest to either side (Orch 2 or 6) no matter how close up the seats are. The stage does not go all the way over, so she can't reach you. You'll get a nice two handed wave, though. Stick with Orch 3, 4, or 5, and get seats in the first 5 rows if possible. Security sucks for Edge rush if you're any further back than that. Also - there are about 5 steps up to the stage that you need to get up in order for Stevie to be able to reach you.

If you just want to sit & relax & enjoy the show, there's really not a bad seat in the house to be honest.

Here's a link to Caesar's Celine site, which shows you a great view of the venue from the stage. The blurry-armed Stevie pic in my signature was taken from Orch 5 toward the center, I think row 13 - in the Celine photo it's basically all the way to the right side of the picture:

hey curtis
how long of a wait are we talking . . . hours . . .days . . . .until closer to the concert?
just new to that part of it . . .
thanks

I gave up searching for awhile, but exactly one week before the show, front row center popped up on Ticketmaster. I get antsy anything after a week.

I was in Orch 2 for one of the Stevie shows and I still made the Edge rush to get a nice lil' handshake. I also ran like a motherf*cker, so if you're swift on the feet you can make anything happen.

Keep checking back. That's way too high. Of course, if the other places are even higher, and since it's a weekend.........

Did you check the discount websites? Hotels.com & travelocity? Or directly through Flamingo?

Other hotels that are pretty close are Bally's, Bellagio, Monte Carlo, Mirage, Barbary Coast, Paris & Aladdin. Most of these will probably be pretty pricey though. More economical (but still nice) choices are Riviera, Stratosphere, New Frontier, Harrah's. They're farther down the Strip, but you can easily take the trolley or rail thingy to Caesar's & take a cab back.

Wherever you decide to stay, know that it will be much easier to stay on the Strip - I would avoid airport, downtown or the area with The Palms/Rio/Hard Rock, etc. Too far away.

Lukcy bitch. :p Theresa & I were totally trapped, although we did see a few get a quick hand touch.

I checked through discount websites and directly with Flamingo. Hotels are pretty high that weekend. It would be cheaper for the weekday shows, but I would rather go Friday/Saturday. You're totally right, though, staying on the Strip is important.

Wow that's a great site to see the seating, thanks. Makes me want up front even more! Would love to get up there for the Edge walk, but $$ say it's the balcony for me!:distress:

Do what you gotta do to see her. No worries - it's a great show, teh venuw is gorgeous & and from the balcony you'll be able to see the full stage, the background screens. Don't get me wrong, it's great to be able to shake hands with your idol, but this venue is one of the more difficult ones to do so in - security sucks, and those stairs you have to get up are a pain in the ass when you're running up there trying to politely shove people out of your way. :p It's a bit more dangerous than usual.

I did get to shake her hand back in '86 on the Rock A Little tour during the Edge Walk. But I was a newbie fan(only about a 5 or 6 year fan back then) and it would mean even more 20 plus years later. I did give her a little stuffed bear, which I was suprised she took, because so many people were give much "grander" gifts. But she took it, said "thank you and shook my hand.
I hope to try again, maybe at some less "secure" venue.
But just to see her preform live is a wonderful experience in itself.

...about tickets.

Can the Caesar's tickets be mailed to your home, or are they will-call only?

(Very important since I'm assembling an army of friends to help with the on-sale and they will be using their credit cards...)

Thanks everybody!
