My new kitty. I heard a ruckus in the garage the other night, and this little thing was being cornered my male cat. I figured she was another wild one and wouldn't be able to get close to her. I closed the garage door and she came right up to me. After the loss of my other kitty a few months ago, I was starting to feel like getting another one. I'm feeling really selfish though. She probably belongs to somebody else. Probably some little girl crying somewhere over her kitten being lost.

She is adorable! How old do you think she is? If she's really young, then she couldn't have wandered from very far, maybe a neighbour's? Stray's make the best pets. It's like they knew you rescued them  Same thing happened to me.

The neighbor kid said she had been at his house for a few day. I've had her 3 or 4. I need to ask around, just being selfish. I can't help it though. I love cats! About a month ago, another kitten came into the garage, looked identical to my last, anyway she was cornered up, hissing like you wouldn't believe. I thought to myself she's pretty little, her bite couldn't be that bad...WRONG....she bit the fukc outta me. man that hurt!!!

I'm guessing she's 8 months or so. I want to keep her so badly.

Mrs. Bouvier is beautiful! They do look very similar with their markings. I still have her but haven't named her yet. I just know somebody is going to claim her....:(

awesome, as usual. the last one is my fav. adorable. how do I change the settings on my new camera to take such sharp pictures or blur the background while keeping the foreground so crisp? is that the aperture/shutter stuff?

here's mine. but you've already seen 'em.

thanks jazzy :xoxo: the sharp foreground/blurred background (called "bokeh") is achieved by setting the aperture. on your cam, put it in aperture priority mode on the dial (usually Av) and set it to the lowest f/stop value (on your camera i believe it's between 2.8 and 3.7, depending on your focal length). that will give you a shallow depth of field and the crisp foreground/blurry background that's so sexy :D

Here is Rain diving. It was fun, we kept trying to get diving pics, but couldn't, so I have like, 5 pics on my camera of aftersplashes. I can't explain why that was funny, but it was at the time. River toys for grownups...

I have never gone on the bridge. Nor the museum. I'd like to see bats, though, if not smell them. Chico has grown a lot just since I've been away. I didn't know about the bridges being open to cars or not. History is cool, I'm afraid I'm a philistine when it comes to the river, though. See, I just try to squeeze in all the swimming I can when I am there. I don't care about much else, though I might if I had more time on my hands there. But in my scant 4-5 days that I spend, I certainly don't want to do it seeing anything other than, uh, me swimming, or me inside of Duffy's. lol. I'm usually tooling around with my bf, and she has 3 kids, and is hot, so there are usually lots of plans going on and I'm frankly blessed she takes so much time to go swimming with me.

Great pics. It's good someone has the presence of mind to take pictures of something else cool.

And P.S., you live there, you should be swimming right now. Truth be told, I'm hella pissed off I couldn't afford to go to chico this holiday weekend. Last chance to swim and all that. You should be out swimming for those who can't!:p

I don't want to jump on your pics, so I'll quote you so everyone can see.

Those are great pics. You look cute, your friends look cute, the cat looks cute, the beer looks cute. And, before I read your caption, I was gonna say "that last girl is a hottie, to bad you are gay." But then you said the same thing. I'm glad you are having fun in college and have a good group of friends. I'm also glad you take classes. Not so glad about the drinking, but I hear that's what the kids do nowadays in college. ;) And, apparently, y'all don't need jobs (?) which is even cooler, so have at it, is what I say. :woohoo:
Oh, and tell that slutty girl to be careful and calm down. You know, tell her that boys liking her doesn't measure her self worth and all that. You know, grownup advice that no one cares about? (but for reals).

Ooohhh. I thought it sounded strange that you would need someone else to come up with something that simple and tasteful, but I didn't know, you know, Kentucky and all. :D Yes, I like clean lines in a headboard. And also bars you can tie stuff to. Just saying. But since my bars are grey/black like yours, I have a comforter that is a riot of beautiful colors. The pattern on it is still square, though. I can't resist pretty colors. Especially if they are all golden and burgundy and rich green and brown and shiny and velvet and satin. But I love the more plain clean look, too.
I doesn't look like you need new furniture, the stuff you have looks great. :) Decorating certainly isn't an exact science, thank goodness. I love seeing different people's tastes in action.

Who knew that inbreeding could produce something so lovely?? *just.teasing.you.* :wavey:

it's funny, but imo, the kentucky girls are usually the prettiest  idk why...... I would think the whole southern charm thing, but if you noticed it right off the bat, idk. but hahahah...well...that only happens in certain parts of the state... (like that makes it any better lol)

I was thinking about that. Like, a whole part of the U.S. raised to be charming and pretty! It kinda freaked me out. Us cali girls don't care about that charm sh*t. :D
But there were lots of other southern girls, in fact mostly, in that contest, and she was the cutest. Naturally I thought of you right away. :p But in the end I was happy that the Italian actress goyl from Joysey got first runner up.
But in reality, I wouldn't mind visiting Kentucky, I've heard about some spectacular scenery there. You know, it's just fun to make fun of people from different states. I'm sure we all enjoy that.

Now, I can't chat further, as I need to eat my lunch of sprouts and avacados, go get a boob job, and hit a couple environmental protests. I also need to write lots of crabby whiny letters to my congresswomyn about ending war and stuff. In the meantime, I need to grow my armpit hair, smoke some bowls, and pretend deoderant doesn't exist. Also, I need to wrap my white girl dreads. Peace out, yo. Oaktown rules. Fight the man. But not with anger, with love and rainbow light, 'kay? I also need to paint rainbows on my door for the love of my gay brothren and sistren. Later, I have plans to trip out in the park, hug some trees, become one with the world. You know, typical day here in Cali. Oh, ****, I just remembered I gotta save some rainforests tomorrow. I'll meditate on that whilst I prepare a few dozen veggie pot burritos. Crap, I left the burrito maker in the tree I was living in!!! Gotta bail, I think an endangered owl is eating my beans and rice right now!!! And you don't want a high owl living in your redwood tree house, trust. He'll eat down all your organic free range mice! Oh sh*t!! I better do some yoga to calm down. And...*~*breathe*~*

Yes, Miss Sarah, I've heard you are the epitome of charmitude. Your gracious feminine wiles have hypnotized me. Your soft words and manners have made me feel course and unrefined. Your facility with guns while wearing a pretty dress and batting your eyes have made me question my entire grubby world. The fact that you could kill my grandpa for his money and no one would be the wiser, due to aforementioned, have made me long for your special peachy wisdom. Oh, bestoweth. Lo, but If I could only skin a chicken whilst entertaining the county boys with only my eyelashes and my wit and my pretty dress and my theories on survival whenst the apocolypse cometh...I can't believe I was just going to do yoga during the apocolypse. Where's my f*cking gun? Where's my squirrel skinah? Sh*t, I can't believe I just wasted my money at the store buying recycled TP, when I could have bought a perfectly usable varmint sninah. Weak, hella. Cause when you use the whole animal, you totally got some TP in there.

As for pictures, I still like this one though I was very pissed off at the moment it was taken:

I'm somewhat darker than most Cherokees here in Oklahoma, which comes to say "I'm very pale...as are they".

I inherited the Irish part from Dad's side of the family, where I also inherited the Cherokee...Minus my Dad (His mother was Cherokee - Grandpa was disowned by his family for marrying someone outside the Irish Catholic faith) the rest of the family is as white as I am. Dad looked like a person who used a tanning booth way too much, he had a very red-skinned complection.

Dear not good reader: Those weren't my boobs, they were my friends'. She is hot, and has fake boobs, but my main point was my good taste in buying her a bikini that totally suited her perfectly.
Dear not good reader again: I kept my tatas covered, too. As much as you can in a bikini. Which is mostly, for me, cause if you look back, they are hella small. now, keeping my ass covered? Impossible. Also, as an aside, I would be want to argue that keeping tatas covered was a virtue. But perhaps that is a whole nother discussion. Hey, I learned to appreciate Lindseyness in full ain't no reason why Stevie and her prominent fake boobies shouldn't be respectehd. As they were and are fabulously fashion clad ).

i live in tennessee. hold plz, i have to barf. i feel a strange urge to purgeTM every time i say the word. it's not that it's a horrible place... i'm just effing tired of it. eff.

y'know, i don't really have an opinion on boob jobs and tummy tucks. some of the jobs don't look right. some of them look ultra hot. case by case basis. no blanket statements here. don't you try to chain me down!

and lolcats yet again, cuz i totally didn't pick up that stevie quote until you said it was a stevie quote. i haven't heard a stevie song in months and months. gosh, probably longer than that since i've listened to an 80s stevie song.

ooo, this sounds good. Did you see my muscles? Cause I like to punch some ****, but never get the chance. :distress: My birthday is the same as Mike Tyson's. Hope that doesn't scare ya. I'll only chomp your ear if it looks really delicious. Like, don't put mash potatoes with butter on your ear, and we'll be all good, fighting fair. Or chips, don't put chips and salsa on your ear. Just saying.
And, maybe we can wear masks? Cause I don't want to damage my beautiful, beautiful face.

don't say mashed potatoes :distress:

i live for mashed potatoes and there aren't any near me right now :distress:

they are.. how do you say... the perfect blend of flavor and texture. ahhhhh.

and plz. nothing scares me. ;) sounds like you may have a fetish or two yourself.

Will you do the honors???

we need an expert on this one. Like, Carrie, or Jaz, or...actually, there are lots of people. I just want the person who does it to be true to my artistic vision. It must be funny, yet not tooo insulting. Ah, Kate comes to mind. I want my ass to bespeak the plight of the polar bear trying to climb on ****, while still having both asses look nimble and graceful, in their ice floe longing, and upset over global warming.

I just realized, the only person who can photoshop this much is whoever does Stevie's pics, the ones that give her skinny face and arms. However, the caption is a veritable free for all.

A fetish for delicious mash potatoes? You bet your ass. But since you won't be smearing them on your ear, I say we have a fair fight on our hands.
I'm fast and crazy, so bring it on. Just remember, I haven't had mashed potatoes in years, so I'm extra mean. Thas' right. I'm f*cking carbybuttery deprived, so i'm ready to rumble.
Wait, instead of fighting, shouldn't we really just be trying to get some mashed potatoes with butter? Just saying, suddenly that seemed like a way better idea. Call me crazeh...there could be a task force, and we could solve mash potatoe mysteries, ferret them out wherever they lurk..mmmmm....drooll...ooo, wait, Werewolves of London just came on the radio, I have to go. Cause, yeah, that's a tough girl fighter song!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!! BEEFCAAAAKE!!!!!!!! *But still, I'd like to meet his tailor*

I love to pop, too, but could it really be that simple? And would I ever take extra effort to send something in bubble wrap through the mail unless it was really fragile?

are you saying you want cheesy potatoes? i'm a mashed potato purist. i mean, i like cheese as much as the next person, but don't be ****in' up my potatoes. some things are best left alone.

now, on to the next question. hashbrowns.. neither hash nor totally brown. discuss.

Nonono. Just with butter and salt and pepper (but if there is gravy, I'll have bunches of that, too). No cheese.

Hashbrowns, a favorite subject of mine. I always order them well done. I want them crispy. I also order my sausage well done. And yes, I have sent them back cause they were too raw. Not often. But I can cook potatoes at home, if I'm paying for them, I want them to be how I said. I pay that extra so I don't have to wash my pan to cook my own potatoes, I expect some service!

Hash browns are important.
They're salty. And made of potatoes

I was thinking about that. Like, a whole part of the U.S. raised to be charming and pretty! It kinda freaked me out. Us cali girls don't care about that charm sh*t.
I'm sure we all enjoy that.
well, of course! and well, i'm flattered you thought of me right away, even if it was only because she was kentucky LOL. and really, you should come out. it's not as horrible as everyone says. Promise. Now, you'll have to get used to people coming up and helping you out constantly, and the southern hospitality thing. but it's not that bad :P and exactly. only problem is, i really don't know who to make fun of. I'm kinda the bottom of the barrel

And...*~*breathe*~*

um. what? lol.....

and did you have fun??

omg.

btw, southern girls ftw.

thanks bb :xoxo: and yes, take the idea! it was so easy. I just put those 3 pictures on my memory card, took them to walmart and did that little kodak printing thing. 5x7 is what size i made them. you might have a printer :o but just in case you dont' that's how I did it. I might do that to a few more of my favorites.

also. the girl at the counter said "who's this?!" I didn't bitch slap her because I was afraid she was going to think I was stealing pictures and selling them. So I just said "stevie nicks" and left

It's a failure of the system, I tells ya!

But what makes me give, what i hold closest to me and what gives me hope is...that someday...these people will know the basic human right of superdelicious hashbrowniness/mashpotatoewithgravynbutterness that has been denied them for so long.
It's a tragedy, is what it is.

Thanks for the compliments Amber!

I did apply for a few jobs on campus, its just really hard to get them. Im still settling in, so hopefully I can find something soon. Believe it or not for the first week, I did have a good amount of Homework.

I've been a fan of Patti's since HORSES. I think that EASTER is one brilliant piece of work (Jimmy Iovine produced that, didnt he?). In my book, she ranks high among the poets. She is a true original.
I have only seen Patti perform live once but it was a killer. I did not buy her last two releases even though the cover CD got great reviews, I might need to pick that up.
Of her later work, there is one that was so outstanding but I cant recall the title now...its the one that has "The Southern Cross" (I think thats the title)on it...the CD was all about her late husband and it was a gorgeous release. ON EDIT: The CD is called GONE AGAIN. Im putting it on now...rbs

Anyway, much love for Patti over here in Texas! :xoxo:

She's truly one of the most inspiring people I've come across. She's so tiny, but she commands such a great presence, even if she's just standing in one spot. Everything she says is with such conviction and fervor that you believe it simply because she believes it, and she makes you feel like you really can make a difference in the world. And she's so funny and adorable, too.

"Gone Again" is probably my favorite album of hers, followed very closely by "Horses," but there's so much great stuff buried in her catalog that it's hard to say for sure.

And that's why I'd want to hang out with her for dinner. I'm a total Patti windchild.

I remember when WAVE came out, one of my best friends (who is now gone) used to correspond with Patti's mom, who ran her fan club at the time. She had these incredible photo's and letters. We would sit in her room, smoke pot and listen to WAVE and disect every single song to bits. It's no wonder that "Dancing Barefoot" is one of my top 10 songs of all time. Brilliant.

It would be very cool to have dinner with Patti but I have a feeling that she would totally blow me away. I'd rather have a long night at a bar for that.

It's hummingbird migration time in coastal Texas. :blob2: They're usually here for 6 weeks or so, fattening up to continue their journey down thru Central America.

Cute baby!

Thanks! My friends kept calling me the "pirate whore," but I figured what the hell, 90% of the other women at the fair have their tits pushed up to their chins, so why not?

No worries, though. Unlike some of the other women, I protected my girls with like 4 coats of sunblock. No sunburned boobies for me. :D

Last Sunday was such a sunny, warm day that i took a walk at Antwerp's oldest and largest cemetary (which is just a 15 minute walk from our house).
Some might find it macabre, but i have always loved this place, so i took some pictures to share with all of you:

the most exquisite statue on the cemetary-my personal favorite

Those are beautiful, Suze. I like the one especially titled: Another favorite. That one looks more primal and austere; more "real". She looks like she's invoking some serious primal sh*t. Goddess, old school.
Cemeteries are pretty. I've only been to one, it wasn't nice, it was a military cemetery so it was all uniform headstones.

P.S. Jaz, how'd you get that photo of Miss Havisham?

That one was hidden for years because a cypres tree had grown right in front of it. When they cut it down (it was ruining the gravestones next to it) they found this statue. You "adopt" some of the graves at this cemetery, but unfortunately this one is not up for that or it would have been mine by now ;)
There is also a military section (and a children's section but that's just to sad) that i want to go see and take some more pictures one of these days.
If they turn out anything decent, i'll post them here.
