Every couple of months, I get the urge to start doing crafty things, whether it's making record covers into notebooks, reconstructing clothing, or collaging whatever I can get my hands on.

I just love that kind of stuff. I have ever since I was a kid, and as I mentioned, I get into fits where I have to DIY whatever I can. Any of youz into DIY? If so, what are your favorite projects? Also, what are your favorite crafty websites, books, etc?

I used to have a lot of pictures of some of my projects, but this is my absolute favorite thing I've ever done - a Blondie record binder. I made this when I was in 9th grade, almost three years ago:

I used that thing for ages.. no idea what happened to it. I got tons of comments on it. It was much cooler than my boring grey binder with obscene drawings on it  I could make a new one, I guess. I'm too obsessed with the idea of making skinny jeans and a moto jacket, though.

But, yeah. Post pictures. I enjoy pictures.

& here are a few cool crafty sites I enjoy:
Craftster (http://craftster.org)
Oh My Stars Craft (http://ohmystars.net/craft/index.htm)
Crafty Chica (http://www.craftychica.com/)
Thrift Deluxe (http://www.thriftdeluxe.com/)

Jewelry. I have to make jewelry. and straps. out of beads.

Cool folder. And to think I bought my Wild Heart school folder on ebay. Okay, I never would have made a folder myself, but still.

I like to color and make things on paper. Which is not exactly crafty. The other night I made a calendar page for January with all the spaces i want on it.

Aww, thanks! It can go in my Buy A Wheel fund ;) I'm just a beginner, everything's been spun on a spindle and isn't the most consistent. The one on the top I'm most proud of- it's spun and plied more consistently than anything I've done so far and is about DK weight.

Thanks for the kind words on the Blondie binder, guys!

Hayley - of course that counts. That yarn is the SEX. Such beautiful colors! I wish I had the patience to do that kind of stuff. My grandmother, God rest her soul, tried to teach me how to knit, and, well.. it didn't work too well. I should start up again.

& Riss - gorgeous ornaments! The snowflakes are especially pretty.

That binder is kickass, Kate.

I like to make stuff. Of course, off the top of my head right now I can't think of a damn thing I've made. Wait, I did a mosaic tile picture frame for my mother-in-law this Christmas using her late father's stained glass. That turned out pretty OK. I help my nieces paint ornaments at Christmas.

I've done some scrapbooking, but I haven't had the time & money lately. Most of my DIY projects over the last couple of years involved my house - painting, remodeling, gardening, etc.
