Hey You All,

For some reason lately I have been very emotionally flat. As the date of my major surgury nears I just seem to be very flat and emotionless and very down. I was wondering if any of you knew where online I could find a Live video of This song as at the moment it is saving me...... It would be greatly appreciated.:sorry:

Hope all is well with all of you,
Ethan

I never understood these video's...was there meant to be a tour video released for these? I never quite got the frozen bits at the begginning so i presumed it's just bad 80's editing and done for a tour video. Any info?

The whole show can be found anywhere. I think this show is AWESOME. Edge, Alice, Whole Lotta Trouble, and How Still my Love are notable. :)

Wow! Where have I been.

I'll take some time to watch through the videos, but the opening to Edge made me cringe. Just like I cringed watching it live.

Can you walk an old man through this?

What do you mean by "anywhere"?

Ryan the end to that is pretty good. The camera follows her into the audience and then theres a few hops at the end before she goes back to the mic.

Overall I think its a good show.

Hehe, sorry. Its a common DVD among the SN/FM trading circles. I'm pretty sure the entire show can be found on You Tube and Veoh. I know for sure...Stand Back, Edge, Alice, No Spoken Word, Gold Dust Woman, and Rooms on Fire are on You tube to watch.

I need to watch the whole thing, because I distinctly remember she did the "running man" dance with the bass player at the end of Edge at that show and I was like WTF?

Even though the whole thing is waaaay to late 80's for my taste, it's great to see it all again. We should do a survivor of outfits from this show.

She does an interesting dance at the end, but I know they put the spotlight on her. Its funny to see Sharon's face when Stevie starts dancing cuz shes like "wtf, she's dancing? no way".

There are a TON of different outfits on this whole tour. I have a few DVD's from this tour and there are many different outfits throughout all the shows. She changes EVERY song...every single one.

Oh yes, I remember....made for a very painful audience experience let me tell you. Every song had a 5 minute intro. But will be fun to revisit through video.

I wish she would do that these days. I'm so sick of the GDW shawl and the Beauty and the Beast kennel. I wish she would wear more red like she did in New Zealand. I think the OSOTM tour was the only time Ive seen Stevie wear turqouise, it was a hideous outfit, but she wore every color.

This particular video was supposedly filmed & given to the people on this tour as a gift from Strevie from what I've heard.

It's OK. Not my favorite tour, in terms of voice or clothing.

Is it just me or is Robert Martin really, really creepy? It's that mullet... it's that Vegas lounge act over-singing... it's that painfully earnest expression. And the way he hams it up so shamelessly, you would think this was a Robert Martin concert with Stevie singing backup vocals.

Well, at least he knows how to play sax.

He was jamming though! (Painfully earnest- I love that)

I think Stevie actually sounds great and I love how she seems *into* the song. The song itself though, and the outfit are just too hard to deal with.

I can assure you he sang it exactly the way she wanted him to sing it. It is over the top, but he has a helluva voice. Maybe she wanted to let him shine, which was easy for him to do with that voice.

But don't you hate it when the live version of a song begins to overtake your recollection of the studio version? Granted, "Two Kinds of Love," is hardly the greatest song ever. But it annoys me that I mentally hear Robert Martin screaming "Two kinds of love, two kinds of love, two kinds of LO-OH-UH-UH-VE" at the end rather than the cooing whispery thing Stevie does on the record. Same thing when he sings "Leather and Lace" and he screams out the "...sometimes I-I-I-I-I-I cry" part. I somehow doubt Stevie would ask him to throw in mellisma, vamp and scream out lines that are supposed to convey warmth or vulnerability. Now perhaps he would have been a more appropriate duet partner with someone like, oh, Ethel Merman.

I noticed that too, shes smiling and swaying with Carlos and Don at the end. I mean TKOL isn't her greatest song live, but id rather see it live than Outside the Rain or Enchanted for the 40th time. Ya know?

I LOVE ETHEL!!!!!!!

I think he did exactly as she told him though I am sure he cajoled her  Interestingly, maybe she thought, "hey, let him belt it out while I sing these three notes"

But, yes, some of her live takes on shiittee bug me to death, esp. in the WH era when she would just start talking or screaming the lines

I enjoyed seeing her sing a "different" song, im in agreeance that its nice to hear a rare one instead of the same old 40 times over.

I'd like to see more from the concert too, but i've looked on youtube for san jose 89 and OH MY GOD you dont want to see the first things that comes up from that search!!, anywho i also tried edge of seventeen, and edge of 17 with no luck... must be my mistyping maybe as im tired

I was jsut thinking. It has been awhile since I asked for this song, and I am still absolutely listening to it ALL of the time.... I don;t know why. Also, I like the "great temptations" harmony on this live version better than the audio that I have, but that is just me. ha ha. Like I said, still totally love this song.
