did anyone watch tonight? i wouldn't blame you if you didn't, after last week's trainwreck of an episode.

tonight's was much less manic & schizo. it restored my faith a little bit. i loved that we got lots of bette & alice in this episode. bette, alice, and kit are the ONLY reasons to watch this show anymore. i actually started warming up to jenny last season, but then she flipped out and kept saying "c*nt" in front of shay, and i was like, nevermind.

alice is such a ****ing riot. the scene with her and papi in the back of the limo was at once both hilarious and hot, but more of the former than the latter. fine by me.

i don't don't don't want bette to hook up with nadia. can't bette just have a simple, beautiful, unfettered affair for once? the poor woman deserves it. i want to see bette truly happy some time before this show ends.

and speaking of complicated ... wtf is up with cybill shepherd's character? hello, you're onscreen for less than 3 minutes and already you're proclaiming that your whole life has been a lie and that you're a lesbian? hello, we need some time to process your entrance on the show in the first place. can we have one episode before you start dramarama-ing it up? jeez. typical dyke. :rolleyes:

i like that kit's abortion was handled by the "group" with little fanfare. i wish they had discussed it more before tina started braying about bette, but whatchagonnado. i'm so sick of tina. she and max should be sent up the river. also, am i the only person who actually likes angus? every review/blog i've read totally bags on his milquetoast ass. i think he's cute, although i do miss ivan.

that's all i can think of right now. oh, and how cute were bette and alice at the end of the episode? plz. i love them.

and yes, i know that only, like, 2 people will read this. :laugh:

JB is the queen. did you catch her on law & order on friday? what a terrible character and plot ... but she made it worth watching. i'm not creeped out by the teacher/student relationship aspect, since nadia is a grad student, i'm just annoyed at how desperately melodramatic it is. the show has enough going on already, it just seems like too much.

I thought Helena had possibilities for either Alice or Bette myself, but oh well...forget Tina...BORING since they could at least put her with a hot dude :lol: What's up with them getting rid of Carmen for this Papi chick? Well, tonight's epi was interesting because of her...but did they have to trade out their Hispanic cast members? :shocked:

yeah, that occurred to me too - the revolving latinas! :laugh: amusingly enough, the actress who plays papi is not even latina - she's indian. :shrug:

i could see them putting helena & alice together, but i wouldn't want them to, because it would ruin how freaking hilarious they are together. that pair is comedy gold, i wouldn't want them to get all serious.

and tina - GAG! i was so on team tina until the beginning of season 3, then she turned into the heinous hetero. :laugh:

I'm not even discussing Cybill Sheperd...I liked her before, but so ill-fitted on this show so far! :(

yeah. it'll be interesting to see how she fits in ... that promo clip they keep showing of her shrieking at the "girl party" is really obnoxious, so we'll see ... :rolleyes:

that's really cool. i have to say, i'm actually a bigger fan of benson than i am of MH. she just seems soooo tense during interviews, i find them hard to watch.

if i hadn't deleted my myspace, i would add her ... i may have to go check it out anyway. i think she's made some really excellent soundtrack choices when it comes to choosing others' music, like you said, ("no other love" by heart was a fabbbbulous song for that bette/tina scene where they hook up for the first time in season 2, for example), but if i never hear a betty song outside of that show it'll be too soon. :laugh:

the only thing worth commenting on this week is the cocktail party scene. what the hell are we supposed to take away from that? that straight people and lesbians have so little in common that they can't peacefully coexist at a cocktail party? that they speak different languages? i dunno. i was really irritated by that. i think we already get the freakin' picture that tina has retreated to the safe womb of heterosexuality, do we need it to be shoved down our throat in an insultingly exaggerated scene like this? c'mon.

and the scene at the end with bette and nadia? whatever. bette knows better. bette could go into any lesbian bar and pick up whoever the fukc she wants, she doesn't need to prey on her students. obvz nadia is pursuing her too, but it's still unethical and it's just going to come back to bite bette in the ass. LAMEZ. and if they are going to hook up, can't we see more than 7 seconds of it? please? LAMEZ.

amen. and I'll add a couple of things (even though I said I was done with this show).

1 - what the hell was with the showdown at the lezzy bar b/w Shane and Papi? it looked stupid and didn't make sense...plus, Shane didn't have anything cute or snippy to say to Papi. she just kinda said...nothing basically.

2 - what the hell was with the Hugo Boss guy coming in and talking to Shane if that storyline isn't gonna go anywhere? it was pointless

3 - can they please give Jenny something new to bitch and moan about besides the Curve mag review?

4 - I love every scene with Phyllis. more please.

oh, i just realized what pissed me off about season 3 so much. i read this interview with ilene chaiken in which she talked about how they chose dana to die of breast cancer b/c it was very "real" because cancer doesn't discriminate. since when has the l word been about reality? that show is crippled without dana. ugh.

I don't know. I hate to miss anything Alice says cause I like to steal it and use it in my everyday life...and I hate to miss anything Bette wears cause I like to steal it and...well, you get the picture.

saw eps. 1 & 2 last weekend, thought it was not bad, well.. 2 was ok. but ep 1? the thing with tina & bette was just resolved too easy after all the buildup at the end of last season.
just glad we got past all the dana-drama, really.

mmkay. jaz, i agree, this week's ep was pretty good. my only complaint is where the angus storyline is going ... first of all, angus is such a freaking lez. "i feel old, i feel tossed aside," blah blah blah! now he's going to cheat on kit with a younger girl so he can feel young again. puh-lease. that is completely lame, completely lame, completely lame. can we please find a new way for people on this show to deal with disappointment other than finding a new person to fukc? i know this sounds crazy, but couldn't adversity possibly, oh, i dunno ... bring people together for once? wah, kit has a record deal and i got kicked out of my band. poor me. i'm gonna go sleep with creepy robot nanny. whatev. :rolleyes:

i'm utterly horrified by jenny's storyline. it's completely ****ing lame. i can't believe they're trying to sell us this ****. i do not buy that pathological navel gazer jenny would turn into a stalking psychopath, no i do not. the girl could barely handle taking orders at hank's 59, are we supposed to believe she could really pull together this scheme? whatever. :rolleyes: it's cheap and it's stealing screen time away from jennifer beals and marlee matlin. ****ers.

poor phyllis. she pulled out the "i love you" so early ... i feel her pain. it sucks to dig someone more profoundly than they dig you, but whatchagonnado. she needs to clean up her loose ends before moving into l-town.

can we talk about jbeals and marlee matlin now? please, god, please, i will relinquish all my worldly goods if i get to see them gititawn next episode. of course, why would i even question that it would happen ... that whole smoking-a-joint scene was such calculated, predictable foreplay. alls i have to say is that if i have to go one more goddamn season without seeing some JB skin i will surely wither and die. ilene chaiken, if you're reading this - you're already responsible for killingn dana, do you really want my blood on your hands too??? :laugh:

angus and nanny robot, whatever. i'm just pretending it's not happening because it's so. ****ing. lame.

the fact that ilene chaiken has said she identifies most with jenny scares me. :laugh: i think that's why it started out from her perspective. in my view, the true heart of the show has always been JB and whatever story is revolving around her.

they really need to start paring the cast down. it's getting out of control.

i fell behind. didn't download last week's episode until last night. just finished watching both last week and this week's now.

wasn't too thrilled with last week's episode, except (predictably) the bette/jodi scene. and speaking of scenes, is phyllis a mess or what? poor thing. it must be so much harder to come out when you're, like, 150.

and now we find out that jodi can't be monogamous? jesus christ. throw bette a bone, people! and would tina really be so stupid as to strut up to kit and start talking about that ****? hello, plot device. whatev.

Alright, is anyone else less than thrilled with the whole Tasha/Alice storyline? I mean, it might just be because I hate Alice but god those two just annoy me so much. Tasha doesn't want to be Alice's black portal...

because of course Alice didn't date Bette? :shrug:

Helena and gambler girl were hot this week but I'm a little let down that the gig actually was sleeping with her. I was hoping they were going to have some sort of cute twist to it, more so than just the card game aspect.

As for Jenny, it's getting harder and harder for me to love her. Honestly right about now, I just want to put the show on mute and just stare at Mia the entire time she's on screen. It would make TLW much more enjoyable. "Bette understands the difference between fiction and real life." Right, but clearly you don't, Miss Schecter.

I'm not totally negative about the whole show though, I thought Shane and Paige were great this week. Shane handled the tolerance session (not to mention the parents) beautifully, and how hot was the ending with Page? "We're already done the time, we may as well do the crime" *brief pause* "Yes" *jumps her*

I think I know what happens at the end of season 3...last I saw, Bette was kinda fired, Dana and Alice were screwing, Shane was having a breakdown cause of the hot latina, Kit...I don't know what she was doing except being fukcing awesome, Tina was still carrying on with Helena and wondering if it was a good idea.

Could probably go rent the dvds of the season 3 to catch up and then dive right into the muff of season 4. :shocked: :laugh:

I have to say last night's episode was really good. I was thoroughly moved to not go to the bathroom or file my nails at all during the show.

no, you don't have to start with season 1. season 4 is really a clean break from the first three seasons, imo. there's a recap at the beginning of 4x01 that will summarize pretty much anything you need to know for the show to make sense.

just repeat "i love lesbian drama, i love lesbian drama, i love lesbian drama."

it'll all make sense.

Watch the first season if only for the MUY DELICIOSO Marina! I hate watching things out of order and other than the first few episodes this season the others are very entertaining, even for a straight boy :thumbsup:

You certainly don't have to start at the beginning, I've never even seen season one myself. I started last year with three, bought two over the summer, and now I'm in the middle of four (obviously). I'll probably catch up with the first after this season ends.

I can not believe that was the season ****ing finale. there were parts that were pretty cute and romantic and all, but mostly, it was a waste. I love all scenes with Bette, obviously and the end was really romantic. I loved seeing Dana, but it was like it was Dana, but not how Dana would act. make sense? maybe cause she's dead. Alice surprised me and **** Jenny. what a whore. and I mean that in a derogatory way. ;) I know I'm leaving something out...
