Yep.
How about me then? All The King's Men is a big disappointment considering the talent involved.
It's also a remake of an Oscar-winning film from 1949. I would suggest seeking that out before watching the dull Sean Penn version.
I have to admit I've never heard of either version!

I want to see several movies for the first time in a long time! Here's my list:
Dreamgirls
Pursuit of Happyness
The Good Sheperd (about the start of the CIA, directed by DeNiro)
Borat (I have yet to hear from someone who didn't find it hilarious)
The Departed (A Scorcese movie about the mob? I'm in)
Flags of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima
For Your Consideration (Christopher Guest movie? I'm in)
The Holiday (looks like a light fun movie)
Night at the Museum (I think this looks fantastic!)
Stranger Than Fiction (Will Farrell finds out that his life is being narrated - I've heard good things)
We Are Marshall (Seems really inspirational. Oh, and McConaughey-hey-hey's in it.)
Of course, most likely these will wait until the DVD release, since I rarely go to the movies. No time, it's expensive and hubby hates to go. Speaking of DVD's, I recently watched:
Talladega Nights - So stupid, so friggin' funny. I've been quoting random lines for days now.
Little Miss Sunshine - Cute, bitter, funny, sad, uplifting and depressing all at the same time. I recommend it, if only for the dance at the end.
Click - I was really impressed with this movie. I thought it would be the typical silly Adam Sandler movie (nothing wrong with those, btw.) But it was more. It actually reminded me of It's a Wonderful Life. I almost cried more than once.

I really really want to see Pursuit of Happyness, I hoped to in New Mexico but never had the time...so I'm going to have to see it sometime after payday...if I wasn't working on New Year's Day that'd be perfect...but alas I'll be working.
Other than that the only thing I really want to see in theaters is The Holiday...

I watched Pursuit of Happyness get filmed all year in SF. They shut downtown down every weekend and brought in old MUNI buses and cars, etc. And I saw Will Smith once outside the BofA building where he did his internship. Looking forward to seeing it.

There is nothing out right now that I want to see and the only upcoming flick that I'm really looking forward to is Pixar's Ratatouille, but it doesn't come out until late June. :distress:

Gah..I have to see it...the trailer alone had me dying (the slugs mostly) but I still haven't seen it...I'm waiting for the DVD. Still my sister and nephew gave it rave reviews so I'll definitely be picking it up...

I definitely enjoyed it (and not just 'cause it's about rats :D ). The animation's a little odd, though. It's by the same people who did Wallace and Grommit (sp?) and Chicken Run, but it's CG animation that's been made to look like claymation.
I got a kick out of the French frogs, too.

Right now, my goal in life is to see Snow Cake and For Your Consideration. Maybe The Holiday... it looks somewhat funny (I love Jack Black), but I could probably wait for it to come out on DVD.

I saw some previews for Snowcake - what exactly is it about? Is Sigourney Weaver's character developmentally delayed?

Yes, the Pursuit of Happyness is based on the real story of Chris Gardner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Gardner), a brilliant and courageous guy who's been also very involved in the making of the film. I have to say I'm mostly interested to see it because it's directed by Gabriele Muccino, an italian director who's quite skilled.
As many others have said All The Kings Men is the remake of the Robert Rossen's movie, with Broderick Crawford, a film that was based on a Penn Warren's novel inspired by Huey P Long's life.
I love the original movie (actually I think it's one of the best films about power and America ever done) but I didn't find the new one such a monster as american critics have decided. Yes, it's unresolved, Zaillian got redundant in many parts, and Sean Penn is on an egomaniac trip sometimes but there are some epic and touching moments. It deserved to be watched IMO.
Some other movies (not in order) I'm looking forward:
Arthur and the Invisibles by Luc Besson - My chief watched it and said it's incredible
The Brave One - Jodie Foster directed by Neil Jordan... sounds good
The Golden Age - Cate Blanchett returning to play Elizabeth I.
Sunshine - "Money" showed Danny Boyle can still direct, so I'm confident about this one too. Besides it's always a pleasure to look at Cillian Murphy. ;)
The Painted Veil - It's having great reviews and Edward Norton and Naomi Watts should be a quite convincing screen couple.
I Could Never Be Your Woman - Finally Michelle Pfeiffer has accepted a role without leaving it just before start shooting. Plus Amy Heckerling usually can handle comedies.
Notes on A scandal - Cate Blanchett + Judi Dench. :blob2:
My Blueberry Nights by Wong Kar Wai - He's one of my favourite directors and this would be his first film shot in US
Southland Tales - I'm curious to see the present future designed by Richard Kelly. It can't be much worse than the present present.
Evening - the script is partially by Michael Cunningham (The Hours), and the stars are many of the best living actresses, from Meryl Streep to Vanessa Redgrave.
Youth Without Youth - Coppola (the father) finally on the set again, and the story sounds epic enough to be a good game field for him.
Slipstream - It's the second movie directed by Anthony Hopkins and the plot even if confusing could be intriguing.
Lust, Caution - Another favourite, Ang Lee, coming back to work, moreover in a thriller with Tony Leung. :D

I agree with everything but TN. I bought this for Blair and was so dissapointed for a Will Ferrell movie. I thought it was suppose to be so funny and did really well at the box office  I love WF and I have all his movies but this one was not funny :sorry:

I just really don't like Sean Penn these days, and his choice of films in recent years has been decidedly dull. In fact the only Sean Penn performance I've enjoyed in the past few years has been in Team America...
Also I really don't get the Pirates Of The Caribbean love. Apart from Johnny Depp, those films send me to sleep. Could there be a blander pairing than Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley? I realise I'm in the minority here :o
about Sean Penn and 'his' appearance in "Team America-World Police". Hell, I thought all of the Hollyweird elite appearances in "Team America-World Police" were their best work, Especially Alec Baldwin's "head exploding" appearance
I also agree with you on "Pirates of the Caribbean", I was bored silly watching the first movie (In a similar way I was bored with the "Lord of the Blings" movies). Just could see no reason to see the sequel.

I've seen the first with my younger brother and sisters and it was funny, but honestly I'm never anxious to see Orlando Bloom onscreen.
I see so many terrible films every year I guess I'm just becoming cynical but the only films I'm looking to are Rocky Balboa, Grindhouse (which looks awesome!), SpiderMan 3 and the Pixar film Vicky mentioned. Oh and perhaps Warner's The Invasion, although that's yet another remake...
I'm too coward for Grindhouse, Rocky Balboa could be good, the pathetic element leaves me a bit dubious tough. Yes, The Invasion is intriguing for me too especially because it's directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (The Downfall was so great ). The negative factor is: could have he done better than Don Siegel?
Do you mean the film Millions? I don't think Boyle has made a bad film personally. Although I prefer 28 Days Later over Millions. There's a sequel coming out next year called 28 Weeks Later but Boyle isn't involved.
Absolutely, Millions, sorry for the slip :o . Honestly I think Danny Boyle, after two brilliant movies, went in a black hole from A Life less ordinary to 28 Days Later, so to see Millions was a relief for me.

Watch it again. Seriously. The first time I saw it, I was bored, got a few little chuckles out of it, but that was it - I thought it sucked. But then I watched it again with Mark and I was dying laughing. So watch it again. Or I'll come at you like a spider monkey & beat your ass.

Yep, Sigourney plays a high functioning autistic woman who befriends Alan Rickman's character after he's involved in a car accident. I think he picks up her daughter, who dies in the crash, and he has to go and tell her about it... Something along those lines. They get into a relationship of sorts, anyway. part of it was filmed near me.

I saw the Pursuit of Happiness today and I thought it was pretty good. It was a little too long and depressing for my taste, but it was really emotional and inspiring. It was one of those movies that really makes you think about stuff.
I also saw Charlotte's Web today and loved it! It was the best movie I have seen in a long time. Julia Roberts did great as the voice of Charlotte and Dakota Fanning was great, as usual. The movie was light fun, but it had a great message and it was really sad towards the end. I almost cried! It was an excellent movie... I'll be buying the DVD.
I have a bunch more movies I still want to see. Anyone see the new James Bond movie? I have been meaning to see that.
