No, he hasnt announced or anything, I was just musing because a friend bought me a copy of "An Inconvenient Truth" and I was thinking that Al's celebrity factor is at an all time high, people truly respect him now and IMO I think he'd have a real shot as a Dem front runner. I wish he'd announce, he'd rally the Dems in a heartbeat IMO!!
anyone else have any thoughts on this?

With maybe some good image and pr people in his Campaign staff to make the personality shine through and work mass-appeal.....
Anyway, I'd vote for him, if I weren't a bloody foreigner still voting by proxy in Dutch elections :D

Is it possible that AL would accept the VP post to Hilary? I doubt it.

I respectfully disagree. He won the popular vote in the first election against W, which is the vote of the american public. The electoral college screwed Gore over. If you win the popular vote, the american public wanted you to win. Therefore, a majority of Americans thought he was the best candidate, and they must have liked him.
I think he is more electable now than we was then. He has recently done his book and documentary on global warming and in interviews he seems much warmer and less "stiff." Since, his bid for the presidency, he has done many worthwhile things that proves he cares about America, and they were things he did not just to get elected.
I wish he would run in 2008. I strongly believe he would win the popular vote and the electoral college this time around.

I agree. He'd win in a landslide if the election were held today.
