Billy was in town tonight playing with some friends at a fundraiser at a coffee shop. I didn't see the show but did talk with him for quite awhile afterwards. What a very cool guy! Just like Bekka, you would swear we've known each other for years. I got him to sign my "Time" cd and "Bekka & Billy". I told him how "Time" was probably my fave FM cd and he gave me an almost surprised "really?".
I also had him sign my "Time" poster I had Bekka sign. As I unrolled it on the table, he thought it was so cool and asked where I had gotten it and were there more? He signed it and kept looking at the different pics (same as inside the cd cover), commenting he remembered that day exactly. We talked awhile about "Time" and Christine McVie, and I asked some of the stuff I had seen brought up around the boards. He said they were all there at the photo shoot together.... at John's house. He also said they all worked together in the studio, just that Christine didn't do the tour.
I asked how he thought that line-up would have eventually done if they had stayed together. He said while they were promoting "Time" that there was already talk of the reunion. His exact words were, "so that poor little album never stood a chance". :distress:
He was so gracious, giving me one of his picks even when I hadn't thought to ask... and told me he would be back in town next month with his rockabilly band. So I figure that will give me time to get my questions better worded. Suffice it to say, I could talk with him all weekend! I was literally beside myself... talking with a member of my all time fave band about my all time fave band. Merry Christmas, Me!! :wavey:
And Miss Vicky.... I told him about your new website and he was genuinely moved. He said BillyBurnette.net is about to come out but I told him this was
Billy-Burnette.com (emphasizing the hyphen) and it was put together by a big time fan and was amazing. He asked me your name, etc but all I could think to tell him was that your address was on the site! But do know that he knows about it. :woohoo:

I am SSSOOO jealous of you right now, damn it. I need to move to Nashville. It'd be worth subjecting myself to the country music (sorry, other than Billy and Bekka, I'm really not a fan) and the tornadoes in order to be closer to my fav. musicians.
I'm both happy and a little nervous to hear that Billy knows about the site now. What other fans think of the site is one thing, but what the man thinks is something else entirely. I'm also glad to hear that there will be a separate official site for him because the burnette-rock.com one... well, it kinda sucks.

Holy Crap.
Am checking out the BillyBurnette.net site and it's pretty sweet. Just got done watching the "In the Back of My Mind" video.
So nice to finally see a good official site.

How sweet is that video??!! :]
Billy truly was/is a great part of Fleetwood Mac... just too bad too many will always see him as not-Lindsey. Same for Bekka forever known in MacLand as "you know, the one who replaced Stevie Nicks...".
Hey Miss V... don't worry about country music in Nashville.
It's not like we have it piped in all over the place. ;)
I'm definitely discovering that the truly "good stuff" is when all these writers and musicians do their own music... as opposed to the "stars". (cough, cough...)
What the rest of the world considers "country music" is truly just a fraction of what this city has to offer.

Unfortunately, she's right, Vicky. There is rock everywhere. I've found out how to avoid it though. I now only go to Robert's Western World, the home of traditional country music!!!! A PBR, and some Hank Sr(the only Hank that matters), and I'm in HEAVEN!

That was from that 1990 interview they did in Japan, which was utterly hilarious. Although, of interest is that when they asked everybody what their favorite song was, John said "The Bigger The Love."

What's ironic here, for me, is that the same thing sort of happened to me about eleven years ago. I had but up a website on Dave Mason, as I found that a lot of Fleetwood Mac fans had no idea of who he was. But, like two weeks later, Dave put up his own website, which was run by Rich Campbell, Dave's bass player.

Eh, that's okay. The new official Billy site is good, but mine is still much more comprehensive (as sites maintained by fans tend to be - just look at The Penguin), so I'll keep it up despite.

OH! Definitely keep up B-B.com!! Your site is definitely much more thorough. I agree that fan sites usually are. Keep it up!! :wavey:
I also noticed that YouTube has a bunch of stuff off that Japanese tv appearance. Looks great.

I don't know how many Ledgies will remember ME (Moderator JohnnyStew might), but I am the "original" Billy Freak! I am so happy to see that there are other folks here who are as big fans of Billy as I am!
I know it's been a really long time since I've posted here :sorry: , but I figured, better late than never! It's nice to see that Billy has his own website and getting much more recognition for his own talents and not just for his FM contributions. I've been on the "crusade" for years to get more people to give Billy a chance and check out his solo stuff. He really is an incredibly talented song-writer, singer, guitarist and is incredibly handsome to boot! If anyone looks at photos of him from the "Tango" era when he first joined FM, they'll notice that Billy looks just as good now as he did then.
Happy Holidays to all here at The Ledge!
Michele "The Billy Freak" ;)
P.S. A special "Hello" to John Fitzgerald, Miss Vicky, and Johnny Stew!!! :wavey:

Hi Johnny!
Aw shucks....you are such a sweetheart!!! :xoxo: I've missed you too! I'm very thankful to be able to say that I am now doing great! I was going through a very difficult time before (I won't bore you with all the details) and I had to go on "hiatus" from the boards for a while. Basically, I had to deal with (after 10 years of dedicated service) my life becoming a living hell at my old job that I eventually resigned from after being on sick leave for a month. I started a new job this past February and I love it! Things have really changed for the better for me now and I am just so happy!! :blob2:
So, now that my life is back in order, I decided it is long past time that I return to the boards and re-connect with all of my internet buddies!!
Have a wonderful Holiday!!
Michele :wavey:
