Horrible as it sounds, I would love to read Carol Ann Harris's book on the whole Fleetwood Mac saga.
Since Stevie obviously isnt interested in writing a book till she's 90, I would welcome this.
Especially for new pics and stories we havent heard.

Oh no. Here we go.

I don't actually want to sponsor her by buying this book, but I am curious enough to want to read it. Damnit. It's like a trainwreck you can't stop watching even though you know you should.

I can't lie, it sounds interesting. I have no idea who Carol Ann Harris is, though. Was she a very serious girlfriend of his or just a fling?

they were together for several years in the late 70's early 80's. She had been on TV once...on Geraldo, stating Lindsey was abusive:shrug: :distress:
I know she had drug problems and an affair or a one night stand thingie with Dennis Wilson. I am curious to see what she has written but I hope she doesn't slander Mr. Buckingham.

There's no way in hell Carol Ann Harris is gonna be able to bang out 400 pages of anything substantial. Not unless it's 5 x 7 inches and printed in 14pt text. What was her closest connection with Fleetwood Mac, anyway? Oh yeah, she slept with someone who was in it.

Oh, now I remember!! The one that the Go Insane (the album) was dedicated to! Most likely, there will probably be some stuff about Lindsey in there. If she's willing to go on Geraldo and mention personal stuff then a book would give her a lot more leeway I suppose. Tell-all books are interesting. I always feel guilty when I read one. John Lennon's mistress wrote one in which she basically said his life was sucked out of him by Yoko, and that he really loved her (the mistress), but he was too attached to Y. to let go...it was a fascinating read.

I agree that I doubt she has 400 pages worth of stuff to write about, but they did say there will be never before seen pictures in it also. ;)

I'm buying this book for sure. And...I will skim past any and all chapters that don't mention the name Stevie Nicks. 'cuz who gives a crap about the dirt on John, Christine and Mick?

Interesting that a book by Lindsey's ex has one of Stevie's songs as the title.
I would've thought she'd go with "Go Your Own Way."

I imagine this book will definitely stir up some heated debates and discussions around here if it "reveals" anything we haven't already heard.

Woohoo! I can't wait to read it and I'm certainly not going to bash it until I have. Sure she's going to be bias, but at the very least she was there during the band's most notorious years, she's a first hand witness to the madness. My main problem with the biographies of the band that have been released so far is the lack of interviews with those around the band. I still can't believe people said they enjoyed the Sandra Halliburton book, which was a total rehash of old interviews linked together with bad writing - the worst kind of journalism.

On amazon.com they have it as a pre-order but with no mention of a release date. Rather hilariously they've also paired it with the Halliburton trash:

http://www.amazon.com/Storms-Life-Lindsey-Buckingham-Fleetwood/dp/1556526601/sr=8-5/qid=1166140495/ref=sr_1_5/102-5781374-2821740?ie=UTF8&s=books

Actually is this a brief reference to the Geraldo fiasco: "With the exception of one brief interview, Carol Ann Harris has never before spoken about her time with Fleetwood Mac."

And just like Mick was when he wrote his book, she was no doubt coked out of her brains when she witnessed all this happening. Not really what I'd call a "reliable witness."

I haven't read Mick's book, I haven't read that Rumours Exposed thing, or the Halliburton book, or any book about Fleetwood Mac for that matter. All I really care about is this music!

But how do you know what she remembers? She was still there, you can't dispute that.

And Mick's book is a good read. I don't see how you can criticise it when you yourself haven't read it.

I'm not saying Carol Ann Harris is the greatest or most reliable person, but I'm just interested in hearing what someone close to the band has to say for once rather than third hand reports.

Plus since I know you enjoy collecting pictures of Stevie and the band, I know your interest does extend beyond the music. I think most people who post on a artist's messageboard have a bigger investment in a band than simply the music, so I'm not going to feel bad about wanting to read this book.
I recently read Shakey the Neil Young biography and that only gave me a greater insight into the man and a greater appreciation of his music. I certainly don't think the Carol Ann Harris book will be anywhere near that but I certainly would love to hear about those Rumours and Tusk years from someone outside the band who was close enough to see what fuelled the music.

do you know if they actually charged your card?
that would suk if they charge you now and make you wait til july to ship it:mad:

I got an email also saying that it won't be available until July 2007.... no they didn't charge my card--I had the option of keeping my order there and they would ship and charge my card when available--or to cancel my order. I just chose to cancel my order--I will probably go through Amazon when it comes out.

I'll see if I can get a review copy and tell you all if its worth buying. I was offered the Stevie book but never took up the offer when I saw extracts and realized it was just culled from old articles.
