I have been a huge fan of Morcheeba for a long time and if anyone knows their sound they are mostly Trip-Hop (NOT to be confused with Hip-Hop) and one of the major founders of Trip-Hop. They replaced their lead singer, Skye Edwards with a new gal, Daisy Marty who's voice is quite different but very cool. The reason I'm mentioning this is because I was shocked to have bought the new and first album with the new lead singer and was shocked how 60's era influenced it is. So I thought I would share with everyone here because I know a lot of people here grew up with that psychedelic sound of the 60's. It is a wonderful combination of that 60's sound and also the flare of Morcheeba's Trip-Hop sound that makes the album a wonderful listening experience. Also this is the first album for Morcheeba to have recorded completely live in the studio to give it that 60's rough style. Take you listen, you'll know what I mean...

Have not heard the new album, but yeah, I am a fan. Haven't listened to anything in a while though, maybe I should crack them out
Oh yeah, and I am unsure about the new singer...

Yeah I wasn't sure of about the new singer either. Daisy is no Skye Edwards but since the band had to break up and move on, I thought they chose a wonderful replacement for Skye. She defiantly stands her own and gives a great new twist to Morcheeba.

The only Morcheeba tune I'm familiar with, is "Rome Wasn't Built In A Day" -- which I absolutely love.
One of these days I need to pick up one of their albums.

Oh wow, you would love Fragments of freedom from which that song comes off of but before you get that album I highly highly recommend The Big Calm. Awesome album. It was the first album that got me hooked. "Who can you trust" is a great album too, which was their first!
