a ticket next week, So unlike seeing a show out of state this show will be easy for me to attend (I lived/attended school in Tulsa from 1988-1991).
Wonder if any other Ledgies will make the trip to "T-Town"? The ''Ol' Lady on Brady" has a seating capacity of about 1,800 and from the shows I saw there in my younger years there's not a bad seat in the house.

Greetings from Tulsa! First time posting...have been lurking for quite some time...
Anyway, I am beside myself with anticipation for Wednesday night! We're 2nd row, center -- thanks to my DH!!
I can't wait! I wish I knew if there was some way to meet him, just say hello and get an autograph, but I don't know how that will even be possible. The Brady doesn't really have a "back stage". Performers usually have their bus parked right outside and just slip in and out of the venue.
Whether I meet him or not, this is my wish come true to have Lindsey in Tulsa -- I know a couple of the local promoters and have made my wishes known for years. So yeah, that's why he's coming here, I'm pretty sure. ;)
Is it Wednesday yet????

TulsaMINI,
Apparently he has been coming out after the shows and people have been talking to him, getting pictures with him, and of course autographs. The show I went to, he came out in front of the venue afterwards and hung around for a while, but of course, I didn't have any idea he would do that and I left! Learn from my mistake and stick around afterwards!

that's why I rarely make advance plans for any shows (Will however make an exception so Deb can see Keith Urban in OKC this July).
I usually find it best to go the spontaneous route nowadays in regards to concerts (Which always worked out better for me in the past).

OMG! That was amazing!!! I've seen LB before -- but it was on the SYW tour and I was in the nosebleed section. THIS is the way to see Lindsey. I just don't even know what to say...he was unfreakingbelievable and overall I was proud of the response Tulsa gave him. Sometimes, crowds are kinda subdued at the Brady. I still don't think there was enough standing, but out of consideration of those behind us, we kept it limited. There was a cute girl with a newsboy cap on the front row and she would look back at me and we'd kinda nod or whatever and jump up -- kinda like, I will if you will. LOL
I was disappointed that I didn't get an opportunity to get an autograph or picture, but there will be other chances. My husband and I were parked on the back side of The Brady and as we were walking to the car we saw the road manager out by the bus. We asked if Lindsey would be coming out soon and he just said "Could be awhile. They're staying at the Crowne Plaza...you could go hang out there." I thought going to the hotel was a bit too stalkerish, so we just went ahead and left
I think I got some pretty good pics -- didn't have time to process them last night, but I'll post a link to my flickr when I get them posted.
My first Lindsey concert. Perfect show. Best seats in the house. It just doesn't get much better than that.
EDIT: I'm still getting all my thoughts together, remembering every detail...I do want to add that it was really nice to meet you, SRhiannon. :)

From local radio station Star 103 FM's website:
The Lindsey Buckingham Concert Almost Didn't Happen
Lindsey Buckingham came close to cancelling his show last night at the Brady... And left hundreds of fans standing in the cold. The doors to the Brady remained closed for well over 45 minutes after the published "doors open" time of 6:30, leaving fans in a block long line in subfreezing tempatures. The reason? A "hum" had developed in the bands guitar rig. Appearantly, it was bad enough that he considered cancelling the show and rescheduling for the next day.
Star 103.3's Mel Myers was standing backstage, waiting to introduce Lindsey as all of this was going down. "I told his road manager that it didn't matter. These people had driven in the snow and stood in the cold to see this guy", said Myers. Luckily for the fans, it seems someone took Mel's advice. Buckingham finally took the stage to a very warm reception, despite the cold night. After the show, Lindsey said the problem had come from radio signals off the portable road signs on the nearby highway. Buckingham also told a group of fans gathered backstage what a great crowd Tulsa was and how touched he was by the response.

Hum is right. Why wouldn't the Brady let people inside to keep warm?
The Brady doesn't have much room outside of the theater portion -- they wouldn't have been able to accommodate everyone in the lobby area.
When Mel first came out to introduce him, he apologized for the delay and said they didn't want anyone in there while they were trying to fix it.
We were pretty much just happy that the "show would go on". However, in retrospect, it may have been better to postpone until tonight -- the roads today are in much better shape and some who couldn't make it last night would have had a chance.

I didn't really notice anything like that as far as his voice goes. Other than his cheeks being really red (like a bit of a sunburn?), he looked and sounded great -- and man, he sure does have pretty eyes. :)

Review: Lindsey Buckingham offers a rich, intimate concert
By MATT ELLIOTT World Scene Writer
2/2/2007
Some performers who have spent more than three decades on the road might slow down a bit in concert and rely more on talented backing bands.
At 57, Lindsey Buckingham showed a Brady Theater crowd of his peers Wednesday night that he's not one of those guys.
His first song of the night, "Not Too Late," he played alone under a blue light in a black leather jacket, acoustic guitar in his pale veined hands.
Some 1,548 people braved the snowy weather to see the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist, said the venue's manager, Johnny Buschardt. The crowd, which offered applause and screams when he first stepped on the stage, fell silent at the first notes he struck while his sharp-boned face reddened as he sang.
"Reading the paper, saw a review," he sang, in a ghost-like voice. "Said I was a visionary, but nobody knew. Now that's been a problem, feeling unseen, just like I'm living somebody's dream."
That might seem odd, coming from the man whose guitar work for Fleetwood Mac helped make the group into a pop giant. But then, Buckingham's solo work has tended to be more unconventional, more vulnerable.
The song about doubting his career was a fitting introduction to the night for Buckingham. He feels he has something to say and the means to say it, but he sometimes wonders whether anyone's listening.
The Brady's crowd of mostly adults couldn't help but listen. Most stayed in their seats, only rising for standing ovations, while others danced.
Buckingham, who played the first few songs of the night alone, was eventually joined by his backing band for bigger numbers that included Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way."
Other songs from the night, including the first number, were from his October-released "Under the Skin," though he reached deep in to his bag of past tricks to revive the catchy and bouncy pop-rock song, "Holiday Road."
The crowd drank in his tender and melodic acoustic guitar playing. But on the Fleetwood Mac song "I'm So Afraid," Buckingham turned it up and soloed like he'd caught fire, bashing and flailing at his guitar like a man gasping for breath.
I suspect that anytime a music figure such as Buckingham plays a show, he gets the ubiquitous shouts from the crowd of "I love you," and "marry me," mixed with a fair amount of hero-worship. The Brady's crowd shouted song requests, including that 5,000-year-old joke, "Freebird." Buckingham responded with class:
"Maybe we'll take requests later," he said, casting his blue eyes back at his band.
True to his reputation, he told stories to his audience about his songs, explaining how he wrote them and what they are about.
The introspective number "Cast Away Dreams," from his new album, stemmed from an argument he had with his wife while he was on tour with Fleetwood Mac. The argument was "something she was ultimately right about," he said, before launching into a song about letting go while also revelling in what the future holds.
And, during a break in "Holiday Road," he got the audience to bark like a dog.
"Do you think we have more dignity or less after that?" he asked the audience.
Buckingham was in his element, alternately humble and exuberant, jumping up and down after his songs and stamping his feet.
The weather nearly caused the show to be canceled, Buschardt said. Buckingham's performance made it worth braving a little snow.

Thank you. I'm glad you all like them! I think they look a little "dreamy" because I ran them through some noise reduction action in Photoshop. Some good ones, some not as good...but pretty much ANY Lindsey photo makes me happy!
We were fortunate in that even though we were second row, the seat directly in front of me remained empty. Probably because of that big monitor right in front. However, the only bad thing about being center, was he didn't come to the edge of the stage. The left and right of that section got all the up close and personal attention. :(

It's just a Canon Powershot Digital Elph SD600. It's very tiny! That's why I took it instead of my larger Canon S2 IS -- if I had taken that one, I would have had 12x zoom -- but I was afraid of being too obvious.
Anyway, the secret is to get a camera where you have some manual control. I made sure flash was OFF, increased the ISO to 800 (the highest I have) and set the light metering for "Spot". Having the flash off is the biggie for me, there is no need for it, the stage lighting is sufficient, and using flash causes distraction to the artist and those around you -- not to mention alerting the camera nazis!
Hope that helps!

I have the Canon S2 IS as well. It's what I used to record the SUD from Houston. I love it except when it gets cold...it freezes up. I try to keep it in my purse if I'm outside in the cold. My problem is I shake too much and my pics get blurry. Every once in a while, I will take an amazing picture though. I love the fact that when you are taking video...you can zoom. The sound on it is pretty amazing too.
I should probably take my smaller camera to concerts, but I love my Canon too much. LOL
