Of course I do!!! Damn straight. Excellence only comes from eternal vigilence- not that coddling-the-clueless-fifteen-year-olds-bull**** that you maddeningly espouse, Niki.

I seem to remember you protecting that moronic 17 year old who tried to finagle some Stevie security dude ad nauseum. However, my memory is pretty shady on that one, so don't hold it against me.

Love ya, though!

You do know how I feel. Just because I can't handle clueless teenagers and you prefer to defend them doesn't have anything to do with the fact that you are extremely sweet and that I like you very much. Right?

I directed her to this thread - as an example of how sad I find it that adults...aged 30 and up or whatever felt it necessary to make fun of a KID. The phrase "pick on someone your own size" comes to mind...

And yes, everyone Ethan IS who he says he is. A 16 year old high school student who loves Stevie Nicks.

For someone who recently told us all of his "compassion and love for humanity" and feels that people are "thoughtless jerks" this little thread is a real eye-opener. It's just sad to me....

Again - why not just use the ever-so-handy ignore feature if Ethan bugs you all so much?

Am I pandering to a 15-year-old? Probably - but guess what - This is a PUBLIC board with no age limit - Ethan has just as much right to be here as anyone...

I, myself have people on this board I do not care for - and yes, I'm guilty of getting into it with them from time to time...but never would I start a whole thread with the sole purpose of making fun of any of those people...

I don't go out of my way to post nasty things every single time any of these people post something. I use the ignore button - OR I simply ignore them without the feature..it's not all that difficult...most of the time...

I've kept quiet for a while - but some of you are being really nasty to Ethan and he's done nothing wrong on this board at all....it's uncalled for and it's basically sad.

It makes me sad. Really, that's what it comes down to....Mary was just speaking her mind - and sticking up for someone who seems to be a nice kid...

Oh, blow it out yer ass ya old bat.

How ironic is it that you fly in here on your broomstick to defend someone from perceived attacks all the while attempting a pathetic insult/attack on Amber in the very same post? Everyone on this board knows you don't like Amber, yet you continue to lob insults at her. I thought you were the one who was supposed to have class? I've never claimed to have it- what's your excuse?

And as for you.....

I directed her to this thread - as an example of how sad I find it that adults...aged 30 and up or whatever felt it necessary to make fun of a KID.
Ethan is grown up enough to defend himself if he feels slighted. In a previous thread he asked the board to give their opinions on his lyrics and received some harsh criticism without falling apart.

The phrase "pick on someone your own size" comes to mind...
I'm not touching this one.

Use it yourself, ya hypocrite.

Ethan can post anything that he wants. I don't recall ever telling him that he couldn't. However, if one chooses to post threads as ludicrous as "Which one do you like better: 'Sara' or 'Welcome to the Room... Sara'" without being prepared to be subjected to parody, then that's their own problem.

I, myself have people on this board I do not care for - and yes, I'm guilty of getting into it with them from time to time...but never would I start a whole thread with the sole purpose of making fun of any of those people...
Good thing your so much better than me. We need plenty of PC Police around here- and you are just so qualified to offer your judgement.

seems to me your oh-so-mature thread TOWIE, is the textbook example of TROLL behavior, deliberately posting a nasty thread, belittling a fellow poster, who has done NOTHING to you. If you wanted to point out his mistake, there surely was a kinder, gentler way to do it--especially since you claim to have nothing against him as a person??? But of course, then you wouldnt have the opportunity to show us all your ab fab nassssssty Grinch-like personality. So much for your claim of compassion, you poseur.

However, if one chooses to post threads as ludicrous as "Which one do you like better: 'Sara' or 'Welcome to the Room... Sara'" without being prepared to be subjected to parody, then that's their own problem.I'm sure I'm probably the last person you want to hear from on this matter, but, as a moderator, I have to point out that we do still have rules against taunting, deriding and mocking.
If you wanted to spoof the premise of Ethan's polls by posting some outlandish song comparisions of your own, that's one thing -- but, in all fairness, the content of your first post in this thread took it to a different level. Calling it a parody doesn't really change that.

We all stood up for Amber and Jason/JazmenFlowers when they were being mocked elsewhere, and rightly so.
I don't think there should be a double-standard for Ethan or others.

I know we're not supposed to bring up stuff from other boards, but looks like some people are having the same effect here as they have elsewhere in the past - to get everyone riled up & fighting with eachother. Whether or not that's the intention - great job!

This thread is silly, it's dumb, and it's funny. Nobody's telling anyone to leave, nobody's threatening them, nobody's personally attacking anyone with name calling. Everyone knows that Ethan starts a lot of threads comparing songs, so why not bust his balls about it a little? Nobody said squat when people started sarcastically imitating my "like or dislike" threads. Cuz really, who cares?

Personally, I don't give a sh*t what anyone here posts. I reply to a lot of stuff, both serious and sarcastic. It's just a message board people, not a human rights rally. Get over yourselves. If people want to come here & post longwinded rambling posts basically saying nothing & ask questions that could easily be answered by using the ever-so-handy search feature, then they need to deal with other posters, whether they're nice or not. Can't stand the heat? Then get the f*ck out of the kitchen. :sorry:

THAT'S what I'm talkin' about. IF he's pissing people off by posting in a certain manner, maybe he can learn to modify his behavior(posts), by seeing that many, don't care for his style.
That said, I personally have nothing against him, even if his posting style is annoying.;)

I went bowling last night. After about 30 minutes of bowling, the stupid "counter guy" put a BUNCH of little kids, on both sides of our lane. Do beer drinking guys want to be surrounded by a bunch of annoying, screaming brats?

There were a few suggestions from "morons" like me and Mary suggesting some things to Ethan (ie - not to start threads before looking to see if his stuff would fit in elsewhere)...

I get that this was a joke - I just didn't find it funny - I read it as mean-spirited, but if it wasn't meant in that light then oops  But how else would I read it? I mean like Brian said, overall the kid's been met with nothing but mockery and hostility...

Well, you can't really put a suggestion by Miss Vicky as an example because she already bashed the sh*t out of him from the moment he came to this board. So why would he take any of her "gentle" advice a month later?

That said, I still think this thread is parody, hilarious at that, and not that mean-spirited. Mean-spirited was dredging up all of Ethan's actions at another board in order to influence our opinion of him. It'll all work out.

I'd be happy to read the kind, considerate suggestions that were made to him if anyone would like to point them out to me.Hm, well some of us were already really tired of his behaviour on The Other Board where numerous suggestions about changing his posting style had already been made (and not been followed up, might I add). I realize that should not play a factor in what's going on here, but it shows where some people are coming from at least.

But Paula, respectfully 'cuz I love you, the reality is that there are a zillion food threads and that's okay. But Ethan starts a thread about books and people got frustrated because there was one other thread about books that he didn't even know about.

It just looks like a double standard to me. The best way, in my opinion, to deal with a thread you don't like or that annoys you is not to post in it. Like I thought the poll about the Stevie crush was lame and I was enjoying watching it sink to the bottom until Amber had to come in and talk about gay people for the millionth time.

There are 500 different food threads - different kinds of food, dieting, health, etc. Ethan asked a specific question that's been asked before. I simply asked him to check previous threads so he could have answers, rather than people ignoring him because they've already disussed the subject.

Chris -- you and I know pretty well now that we have different ways of dealing with people, and that's ok. No two people are going to react to something or deal with something the exact same way and it would be boring if we did.

Like I tried to convey in my earliest posts in this thread, as a moderator, I didn't see anything necessarily wrong with the premise of your thread. Certainly some good-natured spoofing can be handled by any one of us here, young and old alike.

But given the writing style of your first message, it took on a more negative tone and came across as mocking and ridiculing.

Regardless of how I may feel about mocking others, etc., on a personal basis, I have to, as a moderator, try my best to uphold the guidelines here.
Granted, I'm only human and I unfortunately sometimes miss other instances where one Ledgie was mocking or taunting another Ledgie, but when I do see it happening, I do my best to curtail it.
If I didn't, then I wouldn't be doing the job Marty & Lis asked me to do.

Sometimes though, when it involves multiple Ledgies, it's admittedly easier to post a message in a thread asking everyone to watch their behavior than it is to PM each and every one of them in private.

If you guys think I could handle these situations in a better way though, I'm genuinely open to suggestions.

can anyone point to anything he's said that is divisive? He may be repetitive in posting polls or topics, but he's never to my knowledge said anything negative or derogatory, he's repeatedly asked for calm and for folks not to fight over him.

this whole thing stems back to the fact that someone over on 7W has slandered him (without PROOF) and it has followed him like a bad smell over here. He's been labeled a troll for causing fights yet he's not really doing anything to stir anyone up? Some have visited his MySpace page and have seen pictures of his classmates and read comments from his friends and there is at least as good an argument (if not BETTER) that he is exactly who he says he is, a young Stevie fan who has the same teenage angst regarding love life and celebrity worship as we all had at one time or another!!

Thats how I see it anyway...

Again, if anyone has proof he's a fraud, I say it should be presented or Ethan should be taken at face value.

I also did - but I'm done. Not because I have some silly notion that he's "not who he says he is" or is some sad man pretending to be 16....but because if he can't/won't stand up for himself it's not my job to do so...

You make good points about how people have judged him - and I do think that had "warnings" not been posted here about his 7 Wonders behaviour then people may not have reacted so harshly....that on top of a blatant "bandwagon" effect...which even I jumped on when Ethan first started posting here...have amounted to people being a**holes about this whole thing.

But he's not the first one who has posted hundreds of pointless and inane things upon first getting here....I can think of a few people who did that...

And Nicki is absolutlely right - this board would be one empty place if everyone who annoyed someone/pissed someone off stopped posting....

That said - Carrie is right in that his very presence is obviously divisive. I'm not sure that's really his fault - as it's everyone else (myself included) who are being a**holes whenever he posts....

I think it was Chris who said in the chit chat forum - it's the holiday season - would it kill you all to be nice at least this time of year?? I'm paraphrasing but it's a good point all the same. :D

I also did - but I'm done. Not because I have some silly notion that he's "not who he says he is" or is some sad man pretending to be 16....but because if he can't/won't stand up for himself it's not my job to do o...

You noticed that too, huh?

I'm done too, btw. Because, in the grand scheme of things, who really gives a sh*t?

I noticed it and it was pointed out to me....

And I forgot to mention as to the "he's doing this on purpose" thing...perhaps..he is 16 afterall (I know I was a complete sh*t at that age, and most teens I know also fit that bill :p )

So yeah...it's really not worth the energy and grief....if the kid wants to stand up for himself cool - I'm done doing it...

I guess I'm one of the mean spirited and deplorable people that brought up Ethan's behavior in the 7 Wonders forum over here. I have decided to stay out of it and have even responded kindly to some of Ethan's posts. I think that considering he isn't even saying a freaking word in this thread that we should just not worry about it. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion and frankly, it doesn't seem worth it for us to be pissed off at each other over something like this.

Seems to happen frequently, even threads he starts himself. I just find it strange.

How the hell do you know how I've developed my opinions? I can think what I want, and I'll post my thoughts if I choose to. I never said anyone had to agree with me - I'm not the one hell bent on getting the last word in & trying to prove to everyone that I'm right.
since the majority of Ethan's history is FROM the other board, and since you're insinuating that Ethan isnt a kid (when you said "I dont know about that" when someone said Ethan WAS a kid...), I think its a fair assumption that you formed your opinion from the other board.

If not, then its hard to see where you got the impression he isnt a kid from anything he posted on THIS board.

you may not be hell bent on trying to prove anything but you sure havent refrained from perpetuating the insinuations/slander

Everyone seems to have decided he can stick up for himself, and maybe he can. maybe he should. That doesnt mean I can help being angered by the unfairness of the way he's being treated....

^ It's not slanderous, it's how I feel. I simply stated my opinion, which I am entitled to. Sorry if that upsets you so much, but it's not my problem - actually, it's not really your problem either.

maybe you're right. its just that I know how it feels to be in his shoes, and its not fun. But, everyone else seems to have moved on, I guess I will too.

Ok you guys. This is going to sound weird, but whenever I vote in polls, such as this, I just vote, and normally don't read the thread. So I was wondering why this particular poll was staying around the top of the list for so long.

And now I know why. I just want to thank those of you who have stood up for me, I appreciate it. Here is the sad part. Because of the fact that EVERY TIME I POST, some new argument starts, that isn;'t even MY fault, my name is looked down upon because all I do is "start stuff"..... What a dang shame.

I don't understand why everywhere I go, this kind of thing happens. It is rediculous. I really didn't have a HUGE problem with the topic thread, but I do feel that the individual should be banned for it. Because of them all of this has started, and unfortunately it is bringing out the bad sides of people, and in turn, turning people against me, because all of this is a big "love him or hate him" debate..... It is rediculous.......

I have, in no point in my postings at the ledge, started any messes, or flareups, and yet I already have people that can't stand me.... Why is this? It is because people can't just post about themselves, they do parodies of other people and brings out the tigerish side of the community.....

Final Words here guys:

Just STOP IT!!! There is no reason for it. If you don't have anything positive to say, say nothing at all. For those of you who have continually supported me, thank you. You all are the reason I stay at this board, and not leave, because there are SOME positive people out there. For those of you who have nothing better to do than to belittle or harass me (and yes that IS WHAT A PARODY IS) you all should be banned, and I will see to it that you all are. This is why I got banned at the other place is for this EXACT SAME REASON. I NEVER started anything and arguments always broke out, and my name was looked down upon. What a shame

Change your ways....... That;s all I can say.

You're not going to have any supporters on this board if this is your strategy. Follow your own advice: ignore the posts and the posters that bother you.

When I saw this thread back at the top, I thought to myself: You have GOT to be kidding me.

Ethan, this thread hasn't been at the top of the forum for quite a while now, since the last post (before YOU decided to bring it back up to stir the sh*t pot some more) was 4 long days ago.

So, anyway, it's over now & we've all moved on. :wavey: Too bad you didn't show your face here sooner to discuss the matter - you had 10 days or to do it.

I understand with all the threads you're starting how you wouldn't have time to stop and actually read any of them.

I don't understand why everywhere I go, this kind of thing happens. It is rediculous.
You would think if this kind of thing happens everywhere you go, you might actually be able to identify why this happens. I would think you wouldn't be bothered by any of it, since you continue to operate in the same manner regardless of whether or not people are "nice" to you.

I really didn't have a HUGE problem with the topic thread, but I do feel that the individual should be banned for it. You may want to pop that swelled head of yours- it has nothing to do with whether or not people like you.

I have, in no point in my postings at the ledge, started any messes, or flareups, and yet I already have people that can't stand me.... Why is this?
Good question. I earlier stated I didn't have a problem with you as a person. Your threads and posts are ridiculous, but you seem like a nice guy.
