Today is/was the fifth aninversary of the death of George Harrison. His songs are among some of my favorite in the Beatle catalog and I adore his solo stuff as well...NPR ran a fan rememberance of him today - other than that I've really heard nothing at all....he was the quiet one in life, and I guess that's held true in death as well :o

RIP George.

Love George Harrison - definately the best Beatle. I don't think there is a better song ever than "Something"...

WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN!?! :p

And you're right, Something is damn near perfection. I'm partial to While My Guitar Gently Weeps...it's funny..I claim Paul as my favorite Beatle...but most of my favorite Beatle songs are George's

I'm a huge Beatles fan & George was my favorite Beatle. He and Christine McVie are my favorite musicians. He had a very quiet dignity about him & was a genuinely nice man, according to just about everyone who knew him. I love his Beatles songs & his solo stuff as well. Cloud Nine is a perfect album, as far as I'm concerned. While maybe there wasn't much said about George yesterday on the five year anniversary, I thought of him. He died way too soon. He is sorely missed.

George is my favorite Beatle. :) All Things Must Pass is probably one of the greatest record of all time. And I just bought the Concert For Bangladesh on DVD.

I love George so much. When I first became a Beatles fan, he was my favorite bar none- I fell when I heard Here Comes the Sun. Since then, I've learned that most of my favorite songs are by John, and he was a personality unmatched by anyone in the musical world in my opinion. But George had a spiritual side to him that made you really aware of his depth as a person. He was truly amazing and my heart broke when he passed away. Really, all the Beatles are so special and hold a place in my heart, but John and George...why? :distress:

For those who also don't know (or just don't remember)...here's my off-the-top-of-my-head list of George's Beatle songs:

Don't Bother Me
You Like Me Too Much
I Need You
Think For Yourself
If I Needed Someone
Taxman
Love You To
I Want To Tell You
Within You Without You
Blue Jay Way
It's All Too Much
Only A Northern Song
The Inner Light
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Long, Long, Long
Piggies
Savoy Truffle
Old Brown Shoe
Something
Here Comes The Sun
For You Blue
I Me Mine

And, although he didn't write them, he took lead vocals on:

Roll Over Beethoven
Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby
Do You Want To Know A Secret?
I'm Happy Just To Dance With You
Devil In Her Heart

He was always my favorite Beatle. Loved his music and admired his way of dealing with his pain in the last years. He seemed to have a wonderful family life in his last years too. His son reminds me so much of George.
