I cooked for me and my son. it'll be leftovers for days  I froze the white meat and the extra stuffing. (which never saw the inside of the bird actually!)
I spent the day today recuperating. Tomorrow and Sunday I have to clean house, rake the yard and put up the Xmas tree.

Totally. And Mary, are you seriously doing all of that in one day? I am lazy!
I went to Mom's BF's sister's. It was nice. There is less dysfunction there although they are not free of it. They're a warm family and Martha is a good cook! My super fudgy frosted brownies came out great too. Even though I did not make them from scratch cuz I was not home and did not want to have to buy every single little ingredient to make them since Mom is not a baker. They were the Hershey's ones, oh yummy, with fudge frosting. Oh yes, I frosted them for extra decadence. Then topped them with walnuts.

I ate and watched the DaVinci Code. It wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
Oh, and then, as a post Thanksgiving thing, I went to the annual highschool football game, chilled with my bf, and got into fights with girls who want his ass.

I spent it with my mother, stepdad, and sister. Pretty quiet day actually. Great food though. My stepdad is a VERY good cook. One of the things we ate was asparagus(One of my favorites!) with hollandaise sauce.

I worked. Well first I got up and worked out...figured I'd have the gym to myself (guess several other people thought that as well). Then I went to the Cracker Barrel to get their special Thanksgiving plate...I got two so I'd have leftovers :o
Then I ate at home w/ Clancy ...then went to work. Slow and quiet day - it was nice all in all...eventually though I think I'd like to work somewhere where I get ALL the holidays off. I'm sick of having to work all non-major holidays and then getting stressed out over the possibility of working Christmas.

we are SO in the wrong biz for that! :wavey: i worked christmas eve and christmas day last year - and it's not the first time by any means. and i've been in this business for 12 years now. i've learned to just resign myself to it - and try to have fun with everyone else who has to work. we're all in it together - might as well make the most of it. of course i was OFF christmas the year of the tsunami - and went to my mom's out east. i wound up flying back early (on the 26th) because i was sitting at her house watching the death toll climb, and thinking, "i have to go home and go to work!"
i even worked the millennium new year's eve!! (we had to be ready in case all the crazy Y2K stuff happened right? i was on the air from 10pm to 1am). there's a big "L" tatooed on my forehead.

I know...I got spoiled because my first radio station automated on the major holidays - so I had Thanksgiving and Christmas off no question..and I was closer to home.
That's what sucks now is that not only do I have to work but I'm so far from everything....
And sadly when I do work holidays..I'm solo...:( No one to have fun with while working the holiday...
I don't mind working New Years as I never have anything better to do anyway :p
But yeah wrong biz for the holiday time off...which makes me think even more strongly about getting my ass back to school for my masters :o BUT I do love my job when it's not the holiday season - I'm sure eventually I'll get used to it.

I cleaned house and got the tree up and decorated. Thankfully, I have pared down my decorations to just the bare essentials. I dont really enjoy Xmas like I do Halloween (trick or treating next year baby!) but I have this white artificial tree (hate the idea of trees dying just for a two week show....) and I have these blue lights on white cord so you dont see the cord, and lots of pretty clear/purple/blue candy ornaments that I hang....at night, I take off my glasses and let my eyes go all blurry and its a veritable Winter Wonderland  THAT is my favorite part! I may rake tomorrow. maybe.

Hmmm lets see. I got up around 10. Cleaned the rooms I had to finish up because we have my dads side of the family over every year.
After I cleaned up, I set out to work. ........It was either Thanksgiving or Christmas Day...so yeah it sucked. My shift was 1-6 at the front desk of radiology, but by 3:45 not one person had come for an Xray, so I took off. I got home and I was so rushed and unorganized, I started eating before we said grace! Whoops!
Anyway, I told my mom that this years dinner was the best we had ever had. We had about 20-25 people over. My nana and her friend came. I was so excited because she didn't come last year and her leg has been bothering her lately so I thought she wouldn't come, but she did!:blob1:
At the end of the night before everyone left, we played this game called left, right, and center. It was really great because it brought the whole family together. I only see these people like 3 times a year so this was very special. Everyone had a great time.
Excellent holiday!

How do you plat Left, Right & Center???
Each player needs to put in three dollars. You roll three dice and they each have the symbols L, R, C, or dot on them. If you roll 3 L's you have to give your three dollars to the person to the right of you. If you roll three R's you have to give your 3 dollars to the person to the right of you. If you get 3 Dots you get to keep your money. If you get 3 C's you have to put your money in a pot...aka the center of the table. You can get varaitions of each like you could roll a R, L, and a dot leaving you with 1 dollar. But you can get money back if the people to the Right and Left of you roll right or left. As each person keeps rolling C's the money disappears and the last one with a dollar wins the pot.
You can buy it at spencers for like 3 bucks I think.

I went to Grandmas and ate some pretty amazing dinner. Then we scoured the ads and planned our strategy for Friday morning shopping. Sara went to stay with my folks for the night, and I went to get my stepdaughter for the weekend. Not a whole lot, really, and for that I am glad!

Theres really only one or two games. Thats 6 dollars a person. The game itself goes for a while. Its two dice, so people don't lose their money as fast.

We play L,R,C too. But it's either for drinks or for quarters, not $1. We're poor drunks.
I went to hubby's fam's. His stepdad usually cooks, but this year he was laid up in a chair with a foot problem (gout, we later found out.) So my sisters-in-law did the cooking. I got a few snarky comments for not helping, to which I replied that I didn't have ESP & if they needed help they should have called & asked me for it. Bitches.
