I didn't know he was Canadian! He opened for Guns n Roses and he's got some pipes, man. He is still all 80s all the way. I definitely flashed back to skipping school and such, "We are the youth gone wild!" He's still a bad ass as far as I'm concerned.
Papa Roach was excellent too.
Guns n Roses put on a good show. Axl kept either losing his voice or his mike was cutting out. I am thinking it was the former. He had some amazing pyrotechnics going on, holy cow. They had balls of fire floating up from the ground in front of the big screen making it look like he was in hell or something. They also had this weird fog which I think was for his voice moreso than ambience. I guess his show was a little weird given the amount of years it's been since he's put out a record. He came on 45 minutes late right when people were beginning to boo. I'm so glad he did cuz it was going to get ugly! Then he played for 2+ hours, until 2am! See, I can still hang! :blob1:
I haven't even had a chance to look at David's PS thread yet but it inspired me to write this. Gotta go check it!
Long live metal! I know Brian, he's probably not really metal, right?

I wanna go see G n' R if I can. Funny that Axl sounded bad. It's not like he has been on the road working his voice hard.

And I totally forgot that he kicked someone's ass in Worcester for throwing a bottle at him, or tried to! That is where I saw him. Okay, I need to get a grip.

Sebastian is metal, but his ego isnt. He is constantly referred to as "Sebitchian" for his prima-donna lead singer crap he pulls (Word of advice-Never wear a "MetalSludge" t-shirt in his presence, he will bitch and moan at ya if you do.)
As for GNR, supposedly the release date for "Chinese Democracy" is Nov.21-I'll use the wait and see approach. It should be since Axl & company have added a few more "Chinese Democracy" songs into the setlist for this tour ("I.R.S." & "Better").
Papa Roach blows-Simple as that!
We're hoping GNR plays OKC-Been a long time since their last (And only) show in Oklahoma (April 6,1992)

Suze, thanks for a review. I've been debating whether I should go see GNR or not. To me, it's Axl with a bunch of guys, not truly GNR. I do love Sebastian even though he acts like a prima donna.
So do you definitely recommend seeing GNR? I did see them during the UYI days.

I remember seeing GNR when I was a kid... late 80's early 90's... they were late then too!

I've seen GNR a few times -- twice on the Appetite tour and once on the Illusions tour. If anything, Axl is a great showman.
I've seen Sebastian twice and while his ego is as big as my state, the boy has pipes. He's up there with Rob Halford. And he's so much fun to watch...that boy is HOT! ;)
Sounds like you had a great time!

I have to say it it. SB is an okay singer. Nonetheless, I will always remember that in the first few years of his career, he was photographed once with a t-shirt that said Aids Kills Fags Dead. For that, I still want to take his skull and slam it against the pavement repeatedly until it breaks. :sorry:
He has since said he was a stupid kid and supposedly donated 12k to an AIDS charity in 2000. But I am still pissed off. More than one guy I met in those days thought he was cool, agreed with it, and went forward, doing God knows what.

I agree that Sebastian is a bit of a dick, but man was he nice to look at back in the day. :)
I saw GNR twice- once before they became really famous at a small club in NY and then again when they were famous at The Ritz in NY. They were really good except Slash was terrible. He sounded awful and made a lot of mistakes. Anyway, Apetite for Destruction was so incredible when it first came out.
I'm glad you had fun- I would have loved to go to that show!

I know. I think it is a fragile instrument. The first hour was great. His second was shaky. He sings all wrong just like Stevie used to. Lots of throaty wailing and screaming which has been way scaled back.

He's a recurring character and I love it. But that maybe isn't his finest moment on TV?

I saw one that sounded bad. But it sounded great when they did it the other nite. And if I were Axl I wouldn't want that man on my stage because he out sang him and all.

It is Axl and a bunch of guys but they are phenomenal musicians. Dizzy did Angie for his keyboard solo and I loved it.
I always hated SBs ego but I guess I'm more tolerant of that character flaw now. Besides, I think he's been humbled a bit over time. For a glimpse into his life check out "I Married Sebastian Bach" on YouTube.

He's so hot, man. Even the silly leather vest and pants look great! And I agree about the voice. Holy crap can that boy sing. He was soprano lead in his church choir as a boy. He's been singing all his life.

A-hole. I'm starting to remember why I wasn't so nuts about him back in the day. The music yeah but him no. He started his career when he was 19 so he really was a kid. Still, that is so wrong.
