They'll probably post something about it on 12/09 or so.

I agree, something doesn't seem right with the 10 pm time. Nothing on Caesar's website either.

Tres bizarre indeed! There's no mention of this on the Harrah's website, and Hank Williams Jr. is supposed to play the Coloseum the following night. No mention of this on Taku's site either.

Anyway... this is sooooo tempting... I may actually do this. Thirty. minutes. to. decide.

Why does the concert start at 10 pm? And why is there nothing on Nicksfix? Well, I know the answer to the second one...On Jana's website it's still listed, saying it's a benefit concert, but it disappeared off of Taku's schedule a few weeks ago. Jana appears to have two gigs that day though (who knows if the second one is with Stevie also), so that might make sense if the benefit starts at 10 pm.

It does say "benefit performance" on Ticketmaster if you look on the right. But the prices are pretty good for a benefit.

I hope it's just Stevie. It says "DREAMS", so I imagine it is.

I'm gonna buy a ticket if good ones pop up.

I think it's safe to say that Stevie is the main attraction- after all, her name is on the ticket. However, don't benefits usually have the beneficiary mentioned somewhere? I mean, what if, Buddah forbid, this was a GOP benefit or something   ?

Hell, she's gotta fill that huge stage with something, especially after last year's complaining.

That's way too high. Maybe there's another big thing happening that weekend so rooms are at a premium - a convention perhaps? I think we paid $80 or $90 a night when we went.

I can't even consider this onen kids. :( I'll just hold out hope that someone records this show. If it's a benefit, it should be very cool.

I've stayed there. It's fine, but it's up high on the strip near Circus Circus and less convenient. But that's a good price, I might stay there.

I heard the Sahara is the next one they are going to implode. That's probably why the rates are cheap.

Allright. I have a possible reccomendation as far as accomodations in Vegas. I know most people that go there want a nice room on the strip, but when I was there for Stevie in May last year, I stayed at a Motel 6 that was pretty much right across from the MGM Grand. I know it would be less than $70 a night. I'm almost sure of that. My bill for the 3 days I was there last year was $137 tax included. Just an idea for you budget concious travelers.:)

I wonder how long this has been listed as an event on Ticketmaster.. For all we know, this could have been up there for over a week now. It's not as if anyone would be regularly checking for Stevie Nicks concerts (at least I wouldn't). Thanks for posting the info, Seeker...

On Edit: I just find it strange that if it was only listed today, that no notice was given before tickets went on sale. Not even a day or two. Does Ticketmaster ever list events and then have the tickets go on sale that same day? I don't think they do..

The biggest problem is lack of notice on Nicksfix. It was a confirmed show and should have been posted. Instead, scalpers got the opportunity to get the good seats while the overwhelming majority of fans still don't even know it's happening.

Oh my! This is so out of the blue! I am going to try and "make it work", as Tim Gunn would say, and start organizing a little trip tomorrow. I haven't seen Stevie in concert in well over a year, so I deserve it.

I have to admit though, I am starting to get really scared of flying. Maybe I could make it a road trip...

I am only pulling up seats in the "Physically Disabled" section. Does that really matter? It won't disable me from seeing the show, will it?

Something tells me that this show was originally meant to be a private benefit and then at the eleventh hour was changed to a public event. Looking at the NicksFix home page, its clear that something is brewing with The Stevie Nicks Soldier's Angel Foundation. I guess we can assume this benefit concert has something to do with that?

Regardless, to announce an event and have tickets go on sale a few hours later is just ridiculous. They could have at least given the fans a day's notice and had them go on sale today. It'll be very interesting to see the NicksFix statement about all this.

Glad to hear it's official, though

Jana's website says she has a "private party" and then the public benefit. Since the concert is at 10 pm, I wonder if there's another thing going on with Stevie earlier in the evening (like a party with a couple of songs for rich people). Then, like you said, they decided at last minute to do a bigger show for the public.

I hope the benefit is for her soldier foundation; that is a charity I would like to contribute towards.

I can't imagine Stevie performing two shows in one evening. That's just me, though. 10:00 does seem late for a full 90 minute show, but they scheduled it at that time for a reason. Maybe she is doing two shows....I just hope they are not condensed.

You're probably right about that. A 10pm start time seems a little late for a regular concert. No reason for it to start that late unless there's something going on beforehand.

I guess the good thing is that if she is doing some kind of private mini-concert before the show, then she should be well warmed up by the time she gets to us.. ;)

Jana has "private shows" booked from Novemeber through New Years.

Question:

Are these shows with Stevie or is it her and her solo gig?

Is Decemeber 8th just a Jana private gig that she scheduled 'cause she would be in Vegas with Stevie?

Or is Stevie doing two shows that day?

Okay, this is coming together. If you click the Epicurean Foundation's website, you see a "save the date" for what looks like a fundraising dinner on 12/8 at Caesar's. So Stevie is probably going to do a song or two at this event and then perform the full public show as an additional benefit.

Edit: never mind, Curtis has already posted the save the date.

I guess it's at Hotel/Restaurant Management School where they teach you where to locate the restrooms (in the casino), the escalators (the casino), and the only means of egress (through the casino). I'm sure it's an honest career, but those scheisters in Vegas really know how to squeeze maximum coin out of their unwitting patrons.

I've only seen pics of the rooms at the Wynn, but it is a FABulous hotel! The buffet is out of this world, and worth every penny! It's not that far from Caesars, a cheap cab ride away.

I like the rooms at the MGM, but it takes an hour to get anywhere in that hotel, it's so big! :p

Why not stay at Caesars in December? The bathrooms are gorgeous - and they just opened that new Augustus tower last summer - I'm sure those rooms are nice.

I don't understand the fascination with expensive hotels. No matter how cool the furniture or how big the rooms when you get down to it it's just another room full of other people's bacteria and pubic hair.

The place is so wide that the side seat views are not perfect. I think I had front row seats there for one of the May shows, and enjoyed the view better from the center section in the 7th or 8th row. BUT, you will definitely get up there for the Edge walk. I hope you get a hold of one of her little flippers, pal.

I think she definitely will. :) I didn't think I would in Vegas but she grabbed my hand last. :) From the side the set doesn't look quite right but Stevie is in full view. Which side are you on? Being on the girls' side was fun.

They let the first 3 rows down for the Edge walk. I think that's the "rule". So you could keep your center seat if you wanted and just keep your ears peeled. Soon as you hear the song, just move. I somehow got down there from 6th row or wherever I was. I just stood there in my finery kind of pleading with a security guard with my eyes and he waved me down! Holy crap that was awesome. I hope you have as much fun as I did, Ryan!

Huh. I didn't know the first 3 rows rule. Last year, I was able to get up there from the 12th row. In fact, there were people behind me standing in the aisle by the doors that lead out to the lobby, waiting to bolt for the stage. As soon as "How Still My Love" started, people just started running.

I wonder when the mad dash will begin this time? If it's the exact same set list, then it'll obviously be during HSML. But I think that she might mix up the set list at least a little this time. At the very least, do the songs in a different order.
